Kalapizim:Hot 8 hs got bigger bttery 5000mah, S4 has 4000 mah ....S4 has got a bigger camera pixel 32mp and more RAM space than the Hot 8. S4 is S series...lifestyle Hot 8 us Hot series..... for low earners like students etc. |
SunshineSylvia:it depends on what you are looking to compare as both devices although cheap arent on the same category. |
The Hot 8 is magnificent and strong with a durable 5000 mAh battery, big and powerful enough to get you going for at least two days without interruption. Imagine going out without having to carry a charger along. Here is the coolest thing about the Hot 8, it has also got a battery power management system which allows you to clearly know your battery usage. In case you find it difficult to charge because of constraints in electricity and end up with a low battery. You have the option of selecting; the system restricts the running of background apps, which can extend the service time by 3 hours at most. The Hot 8 packs not just a large battery capacity but longer battery life and faster charging. With a 5000mAh large capacity which meets an extensive power requirement of most users. Also, HOT 8 applies the 2A fast charging technology, which increases the charging speed by 67% compared with the 1.2A fast charging technology. This in all modesty means you get an assurance of 450 Hours standby time, 22.5 Hours call duration, 15.5 Hours video playback and 7 hours of serious hard-core game time. The 5000mAh battery capacity is a great upgrade, which is 1000mAh larger than the battery capacity of other mobile phone brands. This upgrade increases the call duration by 5 hours, the game time by 1.7 hours and the online browsing time by 3.5 hours. With the large-capacity 5000mAh battery, you will never have to worry about low battery on the way home from work. How much interesting can this get? https://www.infinix.club/ng/forum/824/1553490 |

One of the great features that smartphones pack inside these days is a GPS receiver, which enables users to access various location and navigation services without having to carry around a dedicated device. However, depending on the handset, the GPS might not work as great as expected, sometimes having difficulties in locking down users’ position or delivering inaccurate data. In fact, some users have been complaining of slow GPS connectivity and lock down processes even on smartphones that run under some of the latest flavors of Google’s Android operating system, such as 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. While some smartphones need only a few seconds to pinpoint the GPS position, others require over a minute to do so, which can prove very frustrating in certain conditions, that’s for sure. For those who experience such lag, a simple solution is available, via the GPS Status & Toolbox application. The software was designed to provide users with info on position and signal strength of satellites, accuracy, speed, acceleration, altitude, bearing, pitch, roll, and battery state, but also includes a series of tools that should speed up the performance of the device when using the GPS. Some of the tools packed inside the app include compass with magnetic and true north, leveling tool, mark or share your location, and navigate back later. Currently available for download as version 4.2.77, GPS Status & Toolbox offers support even for some of the latest smartphones out there, though it packs a series of issues related to certain devices and firmware versions. To take advantage of the app, simply download and install it, turn the handset's GPS on, then launch the application. After that, go to Menu > Settings > GPS & Sensors, select Auto-download AGPS data and set the app to download data automatically on startup. The application will only download the data automatically if it's older than 1 hour to 3 days older. That's for you to decide. After setting the app to automatically download data on startup you can also manually reset it or download it again by going to Tools > Manage A-GPS state. You have the options to Reset and clear all cashed GPS data (cold reset), and Download, thus getting GPS assistance data from the Internet. Keep in mind that while this will considerably speed up your GPS, it will require an active data connection for the download. Despite issues with certain models, the app should be able to offer faster location pinpoints on most Android handsets, and many users who have already downloaded and installed it confirm that. In fact, it appears that it works great on smartphones that have been bought from China, at least this is what some of our forum members claim. However, the app’s developers recommend that users reset the GPS data on their devices regularly, for faster fixes. They should also set the app to download A-GPS data from the Internet to ensure faster performance. All those of you who experience slow GPS positioning on their Android smartphones should give GPS Status & Toolbox a try. Let us know how it works in the comments section below. https://www.infinix.club/ng/forum/824/1531745 |

We use our phones for a variety of different reasons, which means that we store a lot of data and apps on our phones. We have a lot of apps that we install by choice, and we also use many apps that come installed on our phones. Either way, there’s a lot of information that’s stored on our devices. In the digital age, everything moves very quickly, which means that an app you may have once loved, you no longer use. Don’t let that app take up valuable space on your phone when you can remove it and use that space for something better. It’s time to stop wasting your phone’s space and to start using it for things you use everyday, or on pictures and videos you love. There’s no reason to keep using valuable storage on your device on applications you don’t even intend to use. What’s especially frustrating, though, are the “bloatware” applications that come installed on phones from the phone carriers. A lot of applications come installed on our devices by default that we don’t use. These apps already take up a lot of space, and lead us to purchasing bigger SD cards and/or more device memory. Often, these applications aren’t used, and just serve to use up valuable RAM and to take up space on our device storage. There’s no reason to keep any of these apps on our phones, but we’re forced to keep them anyway — manufacturers don’t typically give users the option to remove these apps. Some people will go through painstakingly long lengths and processes to root their phone and remove the apps that come installed on their devices. This can make the device more insecure, and it also takes a lot of time and work. It can even prevent users from having the most recent updates on their phone, which means their phones will be more vulnerable to malware that takes advantage of outdated software. https://www.infinix.club/ng/forum/824/1528238 |

One of the great things about Android is how intuitive it is. The majority of its most important features are easily accessed and clearly identifiable (like screen brightness). But there are some useful features that are hidden away or aren’t clearly explained. Here, we’ve gathered some of the best Android features you might have missed. Note: These tips are based on Android Pie, 9, 10 and may not be available on other Android versions. 1. Quick Settings Shortcuts The quick settings buttons offer a handy way to adjust certain Android features. These icons at the top of the phone when you pull down the notification shade — but they’re more than just toggles. Tap and hold certain icons and you will be taken to their dedicated page in the settings. This is a swift way to access a setting when you want to do more than just switch it on or off; I use it to quickly enter the Bluetooth menu for manual device pairing. You can visit the settings pages for Wi-Fi, NFC, mobile data, and more just by tapping and holding their icon. Tap and hold the NFC icon and you’ll be taken straight to its settings page. 2. Copy Text in Recent Menu This function is only available on Android Pie and only for some devices, but it has the potential to become a classic. When viewing apps with text in the recent apps menu, you can highlight and copy text without opening the app itself. It’s a small addition, but one that could be a frequent time saver time when copying or sharing content. Only some of our phones have this feature right now but I suspect it will roll out further in the future. See if it works on your Android by hitting the recent apps button and then tapping and holding on some text. Some Androids now have the power to copy text from the recents menu. 3. Shortcuts for your App Shortcuts Tap and hold an app icon on a device running Android Nougat or later and, if the app supports it, various shortcuts will appear in a bubble. It’s a smart feature, allowing users to effectively teleport to specific parts of the app instead of tapping through to them. But it comes with a secondary benefit: you can tap and hold the app shortcuts to turn any one of those into a shortcut button. For example, tap and hold WhatsApp and a shortcuts list will appear, including recent contacts. Tap and hold one of those contacts and you can drop it on a home screen for even quicker access to that contact. It works for other things too. Want to pin a recently played Spotify playlist to your home screen? What about adding a button to load your route home via Google Maps? Just tap and hold the relevant icon, then tap and hold the relevant shortcut and place it wherever you want (note you will have to have a home address set up in Google Maps, or a recently played Spotify playlist, to achieve either of those). You will find these same shortcut possibilities elsewhere within the respective apps if you want to dig them up, but this method great for discovering shortcut possibilities you might never have otherwise thought of. Try tapping and holding various icons to see what kinds of shortcuts you could make. 4. Quickly swap between your two most recent apps This feature has been around since Android Nougat but it’s one of those that are easy to forget. Double tapping the recent apps button will return you to your previous app, meaning you can quickly switch between your two most recent apps without opening the dedicated menu. It’s a great time-saver, even if the animated transition can be a little janky. 5. What’s this Song? Android phones come with a widget named “Sound Search” which acts as a shortcut to the Google Assistant’s “what’s this song?” feature. This allows your smartphone to listen out for music — whether it’s coming from a TV, radio, or something else — to find out what song is playing. Normally, you would need to wake the Google Assistant, press the record button, and wait for the “what’s this song?” button to pop up. Or, you could say: “OK Google, what’s this song?” which it may or may not hear depending on how loud it is and how clearly you speak. The Sound Search widget solves these problems by listening for music at the tap of a single button — perfect for if you want to find out who’s singing that catchy tune before it disappears forever. Just tap and hold an empty space on your home screen, tap “widgets,” then swipe along the menu to the Sound Search widget. Tap it to throw it onto your preferred home screen. Sound Search can be a real help for music fans — and it means they don’t have to download any extra apps. 6. Set up a lock screen message This is a feature many people know about but sometimes miss out on a good use case for it. Instead of creating a “My Device” message — or something similarly useless — I like to put an email address as my lock screen message, in case I ever lose my device. That way, if someone finds it, all they need to do is shoot me an email to arrange its return. Should my phone ever be stolen, this does mean my email address would enter the wrong hands; however, I find that worry completely outweighed by the prospect of a good Samaritan finding my lost phone and helping get it back to me. The lock screen message setting is in the “Home screen and wallpaper” menu on my handset, but you may find it in the security options on yours. Having an email address on your lock screen could be a big help if you ever lose your phone. 7. Hide Lock Screen Notification Content Lock screen notifications are great for providing a glance at new messages, but those messages sometimes contain sensitive material. When you’re around other people, you may want to keep these notifications private. In your phone’s “notifications” settings menu (or “lock screen and security” or similar), you’ll find an option to disable these notifications altogether, but there’s also a way to get the best of both worlds. The “show but hide contents” option will allow the notification while keeping its contents private until the phone has been unlocked. Don’t want anybody snooping on your messages? Hide what they say on the lock screen. Bonus: Keep Your Alarm on while your Phone is Off Nearly all modern Android phones support this feature though you may not be aware of it. If you want to save your device battery through the night, you can safely turn off your phone without affecting your morning alarm. Just set your alarm as you normally would, switch off your phone, and it will switch on a minute or so before the alarm goes off ready to wake you up. Some handsets even remind you that your phone will wake when the alarm starts; that ever-important snooze button will be there for you too. Be Smart! Utilize Your Smartphone Exclusively https://www.infinix.club/ng/forum/823/1509813 |

Notifications appearing on your lock screen can be convenient, but also potentially embarrassing if someone else sees them. Luckily, you can hide notifications from your lock screen on your Android device so that everything is for your eyes only. Android smartphones usually have three options for locking screen notifications: show all, show none, or hide sensitive notification content. The last option means you can see which app the notification is for, but not its contents, thereby protecting your privacy and letting you know whether it's worthwhile to unlock your phone. The process for hiding notifications varies a bit depending on the Android device but generally goes like this: Tap Apps & notifications (or Sound & notifications in older versions of Android). Tap Notifications > Lock screen. Tap Hide sensitive notifications only or Hide all notifications. To make notifications visible again, repeat the steps above and tap Show all notifications. https://www.infinix.club/ng/forum/824/1464826

What is a mAh? And why is the middle letter capitalized? Yeah, the spelling of mAh does look a little weird, so why is it this way? The A is capitalized because, under the International System of Units, “ampere” is always represented with a capital A. The term mAh is an abbreviation for “milliampere hour,” and it’s a way to express the electrical capacity of smaller batteries. With larger batteries, like car batteries, we usually use ampere hours, or Ah. There are 1000 mAh in a single Ah. mAh is calculated by multiplying the amount of time the battery lasts by the amperes of the discharge current. That may sound complicated, but it’s really not. If you have a battery and you don’t know what it’s capacity it is, all you have to do is hook it up to supply a 1000 mA discharge and see how long it lasts. If it lasts an hour, hey, you’ve got a 1000mAh battery. If it lasts 7 and a half hours, well then you’re holding a 7500mAh battery. In real life, discharge rates vary not only from device to device, but also user to user. How efficiently your smartphone manages its battery power plays a role, but so too does the amount of active screen time you typically experience as well as how resource-hungry your apps are. So, while the mAh can give you a reasonably good idea about how long a battery will last, the figure doesn’t tell the whole story. That’s why it’s always a good idea to check reviews and see what other users’ experiences have been like before buying a smartphone. Battery life is effectively inversely correlated to how frustrated you will be with a mobile device. One of the biggest complaints we hear about a smartphone or tablet is that the battery dies in the middle of the day. If you want a positive handset experience, mAh size is one of the first figures you should look at. Okay, so my battery life is poor, why can’t I swap my low mAh battery for a better one? Yeah, you must be remembering the bygone days of 2010. Now it’s much harder to find an Android device with a replaceable battery. Most manufacturers make batteries non-removeable nowadays. Wait, why? Well, the problem you’re butting up against is something of an arms race. Lithium-ion batteries really came into the spotlight in the early nineties. Since then, technological advances have advanced the capacity density of these batteries by a factor of three. Pretty impressive, right? A modern battery is only one third the size of its nineties twin. Yeah, that’d be pretty cool… except that processor transistor count has exploded by a factor of over 1,000 in the same time period. That means that that your handset-of-the-future that can run virtual reality technology and render ornate 3D graphics on a gorgeous screen is effectively running off a battery that’s still partying like it’s 1999. Processing power has so outstripped battery power that manufacturers are having to do everything they can to pack as much battery into these devices as possible – just to get these devices through the day. Another problem is that people are wanting slimmer and slimmer phones, and batteries simply take up space. Put yourself in the manufacturer’s shoes. If you want to make your battery replaceable, you have to encase it in a relatively bulky protective case to make it safe for your users to handle. That case doesn’t increase the device’s capacity, but it does take up space. And space is at a premium inside today’s smartphones. That’s why manufacturers are more and more inclined to seal them in. Will things get better? We can dream. Right now the technologies that are responsible for faster data, lightning performance, more detailed video, heavier-duty gaming, and more lush screens are all moving at Moore’s Law velocity. We simply aren’t seeing the same advances for lithium-ion batteries. We are at least seeing incremental advances in battery tech. Researchers are looking for different materials to use to replace lithium-ion entirely, and other innovations are making old battery technology more compact in unexpected ways. https://www.infinix.club/ng/forum/824/1452803 |
You cover your laptop’s camera, but have you ever thought about the vulnerabilities of your smartphone camera? Find out what to do about it here. Ever since laptops with built-in webcams became popular, it’s become a common practice for individuals to cover those cameras out of fear that they’d be watched, even when they didn’t turn them on. This isn’t a paranoid fear now, either — laptop and smartphone cameras can be easily hacked. Although technology has done a lot for all of us — it has connected us to people around the world, made our jobs and personal lives more convenient and easy, and so on — there is still the issue of privacy that comes about time and time again with these new innovations. If you find yourself covering your laptop webcam camera, you’re probably now wondering: Should you also cover the camera on your phone? Should You Cover Your Phone’s Camera? Like a laptop camera, it appears that a phone camera could be used by wandering eyes, hackers, and crooks to watch our actions. The problem with this is that our phones go virtually everywhere with us, giving malicious individuals the ability to see almost every aspect of our day-to-day lives and every move that we make — whether that be inside or outside of our homes. It gives people the advantage of knowing when we’re traveling, when our home may be vacant, and what our daily routines are — which could be dangerous. Because our smartphones are more versatile and travel everywhere with us, they are also more of a target for hackers and crooks to break into. After all, once they hack a phone camera, they can easily see much more than what a laptop would be able to show since those are nowhere near as portable. This means that it would, in fact, be beneficial to cover our phone cameras when they’re not in use. What You Can Do About It There are simple ways to cover your phone camera without it looking sloppy or strange. There are now phone cases that are specifically designed to easily cover and uncover your camera lenses whenever needed. This is a simple solution to take advantage of — tape will only get you so far! Take the right precautions to have the peace of mind that no one is creeping on your day-to-day activities. https://www.infinix.club/ng/forum/824/1435449 |
