It doesn't matter if they are responsible or not, as long as the person is "Single" married individuals should not associate with him/her right? Don't you think this is discrimination? This is exactly what the OP's friend is doing to her. She is throwing away years of friendship because of her new status, at some point, after the excitement wears off, she will reach out to her again. The OP needs to move on from this kind of association as it is not based on sincerity or love. A single person today may be married tomorrow, a married person today may be a widow/seperated/divorced tomorrow, discriminating against someone based on marital status is quite shallow.

This is not the reason. The priorities of a married individual is very different of that of a single person. Your interests do not match. The married individual obviously will be thinking more of their immediate family and putting his/her household in order whilst the single man/woman is still in the market and things like clubs and parties and sowing their wild oats would still be on the table. There is no freaking way i would advice a married man or woman to keep single friends. That's how you get into trouble. If you are man or woman and your husband or wife is still busy hanging around their single friends, then it might behoove you to cut that cord.
