Some people will die of thirst while standing in a pool of water. People are asking and waiting for answers about games that are on this page. Come on, don't be TOO LAZY, scroll up and see what is there for you. This is one reason I HATE some Nairaland members, laziness. Find out what has been presented to you before asking.  RDV rarely reveals what it will show in advance. angry angry angry

Lunsat:
I hear you GeargeD. It boggles my mind why anyone in west, north or East Africa would want to be on the dark side. You have nilesat 201, 101, AB7, Yahsat and a certain astra ABD which only shines on that side. With a big dish you can even get hotbird. But with us further down south of the equarter we only have religious and music channels here. The choice is either BB or the dark side.
You have said what I have been saying all along. You people north of the equator have access to satellites with good channels. Come down south and you will feel the pain of BB monopoly. There's absolutely nothing on Intelsat 7/10 worth talking about apart from the SABCs and Africa Unite TV (and CTL), and this includes all sats with coverage here. We southerners are resorting to the 'DARK SIDE' coz of EXORBITANT RATES, unfair trading practices (RSA subscribers to BB have access to fulltime soccer even with Compact Bouquet and we who also sweat to have money to pay them are denied this privilege plus a myriad of other benefits). We southerners are suffering, we don't have access to any good movie channel, no good sports channel, no news channel apart from France24, Aljazeera and CCTV (Skynews was removed centuries ago), all what BB dreams of is how to milk us of our hard earned cash. Our only alternative is the 'Dark Side' and latest developments here show people are going the Dark side in large numbers unless BB provides good alternatives. BB, the ball is in your court grin grin

Hi everyone am new here, pls can someone send code to watch scramble channels on dstv and strong decoder. my e-mail is kunleryb@yahoo.com
@Kunlerybrown
Don't waste time dreaming of Dstv codes. There is no such thing. Dstv is scrambled using Irdeto cryptology and the 'decrypting' key is sent to your card every +/- 30 which means even if I tell you the key to use to watch these channels they will have changed by the time you read and try to update them! Use other means bro to do it. Don't ask me. wink wink wink wink wink wink

@pidzo, but am nt receiving grts w3a on my 90cm, I receive only mbc nd crtv tp on w3a
That's likely coz the beam for GRTS on W3a is not meant for Sub Saharan Africa, it's a European beam which also covers North Africa (see: http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/7e_w3a_popd.html). May be you can get it as a fringe satellite (but there is an easier option on AB3, C band) if you really need it. cool

Pidzo i need your assistance on how best to align my 2.4m Dish into the arc i have just managed to get intelsat 906 were there is Tanzania,i also had citizen from Kenya but its now gone.Obnelly tried to help but i felled so i tend to think that since you are closer or were in the same region so most likely what you can get i can also get.Try and give me a step by step instruction of which satellite to start with and probably how my Lnb' should be positioned.
Its an abuse of a 2.4m motorised Dish to only be able to get 1 satellite. huh
Hello bro.

I will try to help you with the proper motorised dish setup and tune up.

1 -First off all, I'll assume you have successfully attached the Diseqc motor to the dish and that everyhting is connected and that you have found a suitable place for your dish.
NOTE: Make sure you have a clear line of sight from East to West (YES, ALL THE WAY)

2 -Next go up the ladder and line the pole mount up, mark and drill the wall. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN SETTING THE POLE ABSOLUTELY VERTICAL so make sure it is 100% VERTICAL or the dish will not track the Arc properly.

3 -Once you have done that, go up the ladder carefully with the dish and put it on the mount and tighten up a bit but not to much.

4 -Next get a compass and make sure the dish is pointing NORTH,

5 -Once done and I'll assume you have the motor and lnb etc all wired up, if not follow instructions in the manual that came with the motor, and also pay attention to the section in the manual about LATITUDE.

6 -You have two options in the following procedure; either get a friend to stand inside and watch the signal readings on the satellite receiver or buy a signal meter.

7 -We are trying to find NSS 12, 57 degrees East, so move you dish very slowly East from the true north position, leaving about 1sec in between moving the dish, The reason for this is to allow the signal reading on the satellite receiver to update. Repeat this process of going left and right and up and down until the numbers on the Satellite receiver start to go up, NSS 12 is a strong satellite in our region so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it.

8 -Once you've found it, tighten everything up and go in and do a scan of that satellite to make sure its NSS 12 your locked on, you should get Tele Chad, Ethiopia, VOA, etc, on C Band or KBC1, K24, WBS etc, on KU Band

9- Next select usals and entering your cordinates, you can find them here http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c, x=176&g.y=165

10 -Next up select satellite Intelsat 7/10 and select go to. The motor should now drive around to 68 degrees East and if all is good you should have a reasonable signal with all those religious channels.

11 -Next go back outside and up to the dish and adjust the elevation on the motor until best possible signal is achieved and tighten up.

12 -Next move the dish around to Sirius 4, if you have the pole 100% vertical you should have good signal from Sirius 4, if not you pole isn't vertical, realign and try again.

And thats it job done grin

You can download your own copy detailing motorised dish setup here:

That's it, nobody shud be forced to speak and issues that we feel are not for public consumption shud not be announced here. Once one brings an issue here he or she is bound to give more info if asked to do so. Or are there any alternative views? @ I Hacked, stop calling yourself a baby in this forum. All your post in this forum is confirming it that you're not a baby in this forum. You may have joinned this forum for not long but the truth is that you are experienced. There are some who joinned this forum for long that are inexperience, should they be called the guru? I have seen the way some of the experienced member from your region in this forum pay respect to you, so stop calling yourself a baby in this forum. Again, you should be ready to share your knowledge with others on anything concerning free to air. You were the first in this forum to post picture of C band on 90cm and when some asked you the way to do it, you never responded rather you promised to send the info to your pal's mail. And for one to have seen it, invent and teach it to the genenal members shouldn't be seen as pirate but should be praise. The inventory is not a trademark but pertains to FTA. Look, I'm not writing this to pick quarrel with you but to let you know that there is love in sharering. To be frank with you, when you teach others, you at the same time widen your knowledge. Hey bro, I still have my regard for you but try as much as you can to teach others in this forum especially when it comes to FTA subject or what do you think?
I didn't want to comment on this issue which has dragged for long now. I agree with those who say 'the best way to keep a secret is to remain silent'. I don't see why we should come to the forum, say something, and then refuse to explain in detail what we've said. If we cannot express ourselves clearly why not just point to a website where there is something similar to what we were saying? There are people here who come, talk of a 'very good channel they are watching'. Ask them the details they don't come for another 5months? Why not keep the NEWS to yourselves then? I too respect I Hacked and I know he knows a lot. For the sake of the forum try to elaborate bro and please don't privatise what you made public (by sending private mails). As D.lee said, the aim is not to pick a quarrel with you but to share as brothers.  wink wink
