On a more serious note I hope to come up with another FTA channel (or several) that will show all the games with commentaries in English. Right now lets keep our eyes on LC2 Afnex on Atlantic Bird 3 (C band) and the feed on W3A(KU Band). A lot of channels are migrating to Arabsat 5c and if you feel your settings and equipment are fine then its one of those culprits. Try rescanning, if it doesnt work then be assured that you can get those channels on Arabsat 5c (although not all channels are present from 5a).

Live now on Alkass Sports on Arabsat 5c (and other related sats) Aspire Qatar vs Juventus and later Ajax vs Vasco da Gama in the AlKass International Cup under 17.

Funny because the old TP for MGM on w2a is still green but showing nothing. Thanks I will rescan w2a. what about film max on paksat 1r 38degrees. Are you able to pick it? The TP is also green but showing nothing.

Yes, that's what I also experienced a few days ago, the signal was there but MGM was not showing. When I rescanned it's when I discovered they have changed their PID and I am now watching it. As for Filmax, I have moved my dish from Paksat 1R. The last time I was there (a week ago) it was green but no video/audio. I will give you a feed back when I move my dish back to Paksat 1R (I will use any means available to me to contact you bro!). I heard Filmax is also on Thaicom 5 (although I discovered it's a regional beam).

No it hasnt shiftd,just change your symbol rate to 3834.

Even their Audio PID, Video PID has changed. Just rescan on the sat and everything will be back to normal.

These are channels available in Mauritius. When we scan W3a we only get MBC 1 and 2 (which scan in as Rodriguez 1 and 2). Rodriguez 2 changes to MBC3, Cine 12, BBC, TV5 Monde and even Rodriguez 1 sometimes changes to BBC, etc when they see fit. All you need to do is have the 2 Mauritian channels and you are set.

While it is true that there has been a lot of interests in Ka band of recent, there are many other things to put into consideration before it can really be a viable medium for satellite communication.

Unlike KU and C band, Ka band suffers severely from weather attenuation. What this means in simple terms is that the signal is much more prone to being wiped off by cloud and rainy weather (worse than even what we experience with Ku band). Because of this, Ka band is mostly used by internet companies and also for radar and research purposes.

However, as space becomes more of an issue with existing satellites and KU band slots become very hard to come by, and with more satellite companies migrating to Ka, it may just be a matter of time before technology again finds a way to go around this major drawback of signal rain fade.

It's clear that technology is moving very fast. It wasn't long ago that Mpeg 4 receivers came to the scene. Now there is this Ka band (not Ku or C band) with very high frequencies which I believe our receivers will reject. I don't know as of now if mere change of LNB and software patch will make our ordinary receivers manage these higher frequencies that seem to be spreading. Nigcomsat 1R recently launched has 8 Ka transponders, Yahsat 1B to be launched on 17.02.2012 has 21 Ka transponders, Hylas 2 to be launched 06.04.2012 has 24 Ka transponders. Oga Odilibe gave more light to this issue on this very same page but we surely haven't considered the way out coz we may buy the LNB but what about inputting the frequency? Shouldn't we start discussing this before we are left out?

Sorry for the delay in responding to your querry. I may not provide all the requested info and you will need to gather more via Flysat or Lyngsat. For Dubai Sports its on KU band on Badr 4 @ 26° E frequency 12130 V 27500, or Nilesat 201 @ 7° W frequency 11785 v 27500 or on C band, Apstar 2R @ 76.5°E, 3747 V 8000. Al Dawri & Al Kass Sport Channel is on Arabsat 5C @ 20.0°E, on C band frequency 4054 L 27500 ( and many more sats).

Friendly International between Al Alhy - FC Bayern Munich on Dubai Sports 1 and Al Dawri & Al Kass Sport Channel to day at 18:30 CET (on Badr 4 at 26 deg East, AB7 at 7deg West and Arabsat 5c at 20 deg East)

That's the situation on w3c bro. The package is meant for French speaking countries (Even Setanta Africa is Setanta Afrique although audio is still in English as you've rightly observed!) I am there just because of RDV and Setanta as I moved from W4/7 (will retain when w3c is scrambled!). I am made to believe there are currently only three FTA tps.

Copa del rey to night on Setanta Africa it will be Cordoba vs Espanyol at 19:00 and Vallencia vs Sevilla at 21:00 ST. On Saudi Sports it will be Al Hilal vs Juventus (friendly) at 17:00 ST. Enjoy

This weekend MBC on W3a will show Birmingham vs Wolves on Saturday, on Sunday Man U vs Man City and Peterborough Vs Sunderland in the FA cup.

Thanks guys for the info. It still baffles me that even after blind scanning several times the tp kindly offered by Captainus couldn't pop up. Upon manually scanning it I found out that it had a quality of 90% yet it couldn't come on its own

Iam equally using a Strong 4930 HD and as for the dish sizes i'm using a 90cm which is pointed at the bird intelsat 7/10ku,then i have a 1.8m dish pointing Arabsat 5A and lastly i have a 2.4m Dish which is pointing either 906 or 902 C this dish is motorised though i have a problem of aligning it in the arc.
