Point of correction, nobody is humiliating anybody here so don't get worked up over nothing. Since you're bent on dragging this dialogue let me take your attention back to my earlier comment. I never mentioned a specific name or person when I said "you guys " right? It was just an observation that struck me from your exchange of messages. So don't feel belittled. The vagueness of my comment doesn't necessitate any aggravation. So be cool. And being informed has nothing to do with location. Just a add-in.
What are you? 12? Do you even read what you write before posting it? Show me anywhere on the thread where anyone said anything about air fryers before i did. You just happened to make your comment after i made mine. Who the phuck is this anyway?

One more thing, I'm not in a competition or rivalry with you so my jaw can never drop for your achievements. Whatever you've got and experienced, well thank God for you. I'm running my own race.

Another thing, I'm not a guy.
Guy, You should have minded your business before implying that someone else is not informed.

For your information I didn't make an Ass of myself. I only stated out an observation as I have followed the thread from the beginning till now and I noticed that some of you have disclosed your locations at one point and another. Though I didn't consider relocation or type of residency which was my omission.

That said, I don't actually have but that didn't stop me from being informed about and it's workings. I will definitely use it in the near future. But for now I'm still rocking my oily, old fashioned, German machine, deep fryer. The "guy" must serve im master na. grin
You've summoned enough courage to reply. Good. Now show me anywhere i have said specifically i lived in the U.S, in the comment i made. I only made comments to an appliance i just bought and it's functionality. I didn't even refer it to you. If i remember correctly, it was cococandy i referred to. You took it upon yourself to try to belittle me by trying to imply that i am uninformed. Guy, the things i've seen, the places i've been, the things i've done (the good, the bad, and the horrific) will leave your "informed" jaw on the floor. So next time you wanna pull the "dis guy no sabi" routine, you might wanna take a step back and check who you are trying to humiliate.

Are you guys serious? You didn't know about Air fryers? And I guess some of you guys are in the US where it was first introduced commercially by Philips in 2010. Wow.

Well it has been in the market for some years now, even here in Nigeria I've known about it since 2014 and you can buy online from Jumia for those interested.
Bros. I don't reside in the U.S. I reside everywhere for now, which is why i don't always catch up with the latest and the greatest. Plus, i had a fry daddy which served it's purpose. See why you shouldn't assume? You'll just end up making an asss of yourself. If you wanna know about the latest frag device, i'm your man. wink While we are it, show me a picture of the one you own.

Naijasinglegirl:
Gone are the days when the term ‘gay’ was used to connote happiness. Nowadays, only one definition comes to our mind when the word gay is mentioned.
Statistics say 1 in every 10 men are gay. What if I told you that male gossip partner of yours in the office is gay? That your ever smiling neighbour is gay. That banker you are crushing on is gay. Your fiance of 9 years is gay?

In fact, any guy guilty of 5 of these signs is definitely gay.

1 He owns an umbrella
2 He showers with hot water
3 He covers with a duvet when sleeping alone
4 His bathing soap cost more than N150
5 He wears a pouch on his phone.
6 He applies vaseline/lip gloss on lips during harmattan
7 He applies white powder on his armpits
8 He changes his BBM dp more than thrice a month.
9 He owns a selfie stick
10 He drinks fanta
11 He wears pants rather than boxers
12 He uses a photo/selfie of him as his phone or laptop wallpaper
13 He sips drinks with straw
14 He chews a gum for more than 10 minutes
15 He uses snapchat filters
16 He runs when crossing the road
17 He applies body cream
18 He wears a nose ring
19 He places one leg on a stool/bed when applying body cream
20 He takes a selfie with another guy
21 He has Camera360 app on his phone
22 He ties sponge on his waist after bathing

I guess i'm gay then because i am guilty of numbers, 2, 6, 10, 14, 16, and 17. Nigerians and stupidity go hand in hand.

Lol..

Let's back track a bit..

You said I made an error.. I said but you still got the message..

You rhetorically said if I did that at an interview, I will get the job.. to which I responded "you will be surprised"..

You then said 'Anything is possible'.. To which I responded by saying 'a company that denies me a job because of the mistake I made in that post is not one I am interested in working for' unless 'IMPECCABLE GRAMMAR' was a prerequisite for getting the job...

You then said 'I was obviously unemployed for saying that'... To which I gave you a short summary of my employment history.

You then made a post about germany that I didnt understand to which I responded that depending on the job in question, communications skills may not be such a deal breaker to get the job especially if your are applying for an engineering job.

You then went on to talk about unless the job is for someone who disposes fecal matter, that's when you can waive communications skills and also went on to try comparing calculation and measurement errors to grammatical errors and how one miscalculation or wrong measurement can cause a nuclear holocaust (which is plausible). Then you talked about how you were not a mind reader and all that.. grin I responded by reminding you of the clear difference between Mathematical and English errors.. I went on to tell you how it would come as a shock to me if you despite my MINOR error you didn't get the message I was trying to pass across.

That is the summary of how we arrived here.

Your entire problem was just to hear me admit I made an error.. Which was glaring.

You sia dwhat if you took my post as it was.. That would surprise the hall out of me especially as the subject of the thread, the content of my post and all would have given anybody with even a half decent education an idea of what I was trying to say.

Your latest retort is even more ridiculous. Precise communication is not a deal breaker for most jobs and that's a FACT that you are trying to argue with.

Mathematical errors and Grammatical errors are not the same no matter how hard you try to force them to be the same. Incase you have forgotten, Maths deals with numbers, English deals with alphabets.. grin

If you can't tell the difference between a grammatical error and a calculation error then you have no business even being in a position to be making any type of decision in any company.

No point throwing shades, its petty..

Thanks for stopping by..
I thought communication was your only problem. I now see it's two fold. There is also comprehension to factor in. I think that is the genesis of the whole issue. I believe there is a disconnect between the two for you. You talk about throwing insults and it being petty but forget that you said this, "the reader would have to be remarkably daft not to get the message. Jus'Sayin..". While addressing me. I honestly don't think you factor in the weight of your utterances before making them which is where all this started from. Here's a trick to help you out. After writing anything, go back and read it from the beginning and ask yourself if that is the message you want to convey. Then count to ten. Then click submit. You can thank me later. Or now. Or whichever works for you.

Calculation errors are different from Grammatical errors.. My only mistake which you have greatly exaggerated was not adding "ABU" in front of Ekiti.. But from the title of the thread, the subject matter of the thread, the fact that I compared it against another University in terms of University rankings, the reader would have to be remarkably daft not to get the message. Jus'Sayin..
When you first tried to make sense of it you did not admit you made an error. If you had said what you just said, this conversation would be over a long time ago. Your argument until now was to try to belittle the importance of precise communication. And there is no difference between calculation errors and grammatical errors. How am i sure you will not try to assume i would understand the differences if presented with it. After i could have blown up a village by mistake, you would come at me with "you should have known what the calculations meant" or "i'm sure you got the message". Only a m.oron bereft of the importance of it thinks like that in today's world. Jus'sayin.

Oga..

Communications (either literary and/or oral) skills are always a prerequisite for employment in any company. However, depending on the job description for which you are applying for, an error such as the one I made which you were so quick to pick on that has led us into this long drawn out exchange is definitely not enough to disqualify you especially if the job is an Engineering job (which is my career field).

And I don't remember telling you I was or worked in Germany.
I am multi tasking. An error based on communication is a serious one. If i wanted to hire to haul feaces, i wouldn't mind though. As an Engineer, i am shocked you don't understand this. One miscalculation or measurement is enough to disable, destroy, or decimate someone, a project or an entire country. All you had to do was acknowledge the error but you tried to make sense of it. I am not a mind reader. So don't assume i would know your meaning. How do i know that didn't actually mean what you wrote? You know what they say; Assumption is the mother of all phuck ups.

There are numerous reasons why you should not restrict communication. Especially in college;

1. Security reasons

2. Educational/informative reasons.

3. Access. (You can actually use you cell phone as a hotspot).

Etc.

Nigerians. Una no de hear word. You guys will never learn your lessons. "E go better" has always been the words used to pacify you since independence. Meanwhile, they continue doing the exact same things that has brought them to this point but expect different results. This is the classic definition of insanity. Plus, how anyone can call Jonathan a statesman is beyond me. A man that should be ridiculed on a daily basis. A man that couldn't manage the people he delegated responsibilities to. Nigerians really deserve whatever leadership and condition they have today.

It's not about turning cheezy. We are just wired differently. Our thought process is different. We generally believe that hypocrisy is the bane of Africans. The mentality in Africa usually is, "i can do what i want but you can't".
