I use Maxxis and it serves me well. Make sure to the one with a recent manufacture date.
Crucial also, is tire care; maintaining the correct PSI, doing tire rotations when due etc.

My car still isn't shifting properly especially when am about to go into motion. Highway drive shift smooth but when I slow down and want to accelerate. It fails to move into the next gear and just revs until I pull to N and back to D (not all the time).

I noticed one evening my car revs close to 4000rpm and my power steering reservoir was bubbling oil and overflowing and steering stiff. Checked the trans oil and it was completely dry. My mech confirmed there was a leakage through the trans cooler hose and also advised I change the inner cup/upper arm which he said contributed to gear oil leakages and was the cause of the slippage.

Did a complete oil change and got the hose replaced aswell with other parts mentioned. Did a scan, the P0716 input/turbine speed sensor code disappeared but the rest remains and issue persist(still failing to shift to next gear when am accelerating)

Please assist, all the mechs I have met so far seem to be clueless. Any recommendation in Abuja will be highly appreciated. 2008 Honda Accord

Certainly not the work of the owner, other parts of the car are reeling with signs of a really incompetent panel-beater; more screws, deep coating of filler. Very poor work overall

The owner would have authorised this cheaper fix. It was a cheaper option than replacing the old, battered and clip - less bumper!!!!
It would soon be advertised on nairaland. Original body, tapping window, nothing to fix and pay and drive away!!!

I saw this somewhere and just had to get a pic. I've seen multiple cases where screws are just used anyhow to hold bumpers. Really appalling.
The screw even penetrated the reflector for the headlamp

Hello every one.
Who can please tell me how much this truck can return for the owner in Naija.
Its been operated by my brother and a driver, I just do not know for sure how much is appropriate
to get from them on daily or weekly basis. I would have prefered leasing it to a company,
but thats not possible because am not in Nigeria now.

Unlike the light above, this light doesn’t refer to an impending oil change. It indicates that the engine oil level is low and requires a top-up immediately. If flashing, the oil level may be empty or at critical levels.

On the contrary, the light indicates low oil pressure and not low oil level. On some models (eg Honda's) the check engine light will come on if the oil level goes critically low.

If this light stays on, engine is most likely worn.

I complained of this in my last thread and I was told this warning light indicates low oil pressure.
I put more oil when I first discover the warning light and even overguage but it did not stop untill when I drain the whole oil.
I just wanna know if its low oil pressure or oil shortage .thanks

Just saw your cruise control light on and remembered mine that shut down 3months ago. The mains engage and comes on but the cruise speed cant be set.

Initially, it started by disengaging from cruise while driving without touching brakes. I would be driving on cruise control but will disengage like i touched brakes without actually doing so. If i re-engage it will disengage by itself till one day it refused to re-engage till today.

I tried to check the fuse but found nothing. I was convinced it is not a fuse problem since the mains switch comes on.

Please help me, i got tire of looking for solution.

Also, my 1 loader stock audio has finally shut down for good. That one too used to flicker off and on by itself without reseting its settings. That is a coomon problem with the 1 loader. A radio electrician who worked on it 5 months ago has asked me to just get a replacement. He adviced me to get the 6loader saying its problem is less. The 6 loader like he says always jam cds but can easily be treated than the 1 loader that may go off for good.

What do you know about this issue too?

Sadly I haven't had any problems with cruise control so I haven't done any research into it. I once had a stuck moonroof and it stuck in the open position. The electrician just scratched the contact points for the buttons with a screwdriver and it started working again. Maybe you can try that.
On the single loader ish, mine is having the same problem. In fact it didn't work for close to a year but to my surprise started working perfectly during the harmattan. Although it's intermittent now, with those pops and crackles. My observation on this, is that it seems to work better with low humidity and using the AC on vents rather than recirculation. It even seemed using a car dehumidifier worked. My guess is moisture is collecting on the circuit and causing the problem.
I know our radios have faceplate numbers; I think the single loader is 2AC0. I am not sure if the 6 loader will work on them as it has different faceplate numbers.
I've even considered fitting one of those China navigation units with Bluetooth specifically made for this model but it now goes for 70k or so.
Funny enough this is my 2nd OEM radio. When I bought the car it had a broken unit and I got this one on eBay...
Haven't really decided what to do...

OP I maintain same stance, scan ABS, that car is NOT equipped with a speed sensor attached to the gearbox, I don't have to prove anything to any one because I have worked on several.

You owned a dodge charger and we get it but claiming it was an srt8 is absurd considering the cock-and-bull story about how you had a massive crash which totaled your car and you bought a new body from Abuja and transplanted the srt8 engine which was undamaged into the new body. Despite the numerous pleas for you to send engine pics, you never did and one day you said the car was sold. Please, please, please....let me not hear that you owned a srt8 again oooo!

I think we should just let this slide for peace to reign. Even if he never had it, I'm sure we won't gain anything by trying to investigate. Let's just keep it Cartalk as designed.

@PYKE you're the best. I had a wonderful successful day today. I was privilege to benefit from Pyke Free Scan in Owerri today. My 2000 infiniti Qx4 was destroyed by try and check Kazeem. I don't know how to go about the suv for months until i met Pyke today. My vehicle was scanned, professional advice on what to do and fix the car was given to me by Mr. PYKE. I wrote the instructions he gave me down and went to Kazeem. At the Kazeem workshop, i was the one directing him where to touch and wheren't to touch based on the instruction i got from Pyke. After fixing my car, my car is as good as a new car. Everything have started working perfectly. The check engine light that was displaying b4 is no where to be found. My car is moving normal now. Nothing pass professional advice. My Ac will be fix by him next 2 weeks to come. Plz help me thank Mr. PYKE for his selfless wonderful work. MR PYKE, I'M GRATEFUL

Scan and troubleshooting completed on;

Infinity QX4 2000 V6 3.3L

Problems reported by owner: Guzzling of fuel, CEL, CEL started flashing after Kazeem serviced the nozzles.

Scan Codes:
P0300: Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
P1320 (manufacturer): Ignition signal primary
P0443: Evaporative emission system purge control valve circuit malfunction


Other Observations:
Air cleaner element very dirty, never been changed since 2011
Electrical tape used on some portion of the Intake hose probably to cover a break .
CEL flashed at idle, but became steady at 2500RPM. Lean misfire that improved at higher RPM as leak became more irrelevant?? Car has a MAF and as such will be less tolerant to a vacuum leak especially at idle. There was no lean code though. STFT2 was above 20% at idle (my bad, can't remember the value of LTFT2 and didn't save a recording on my scan tool) but went below 10% at 2500RPM.

A bit more history...
> 200,000miles on odometer
Spark plugs have never been changed
Lots of welding work on bank 2 exhaust system

Advice to owner ...for Kazeem
Replace air-cleaner element (filter) and intake hose. Rule out other vacuum leaks
Change all spark plugs
Check ignition coils and wires, may need to replace them as well
Check electrical connection to EVAP system, rule out shorts and poor connectivity. The solenoid valve may need to be replaced if connection is okay.
Re-examine multiple welds on exhaust bank 2 to ensure no leaks.

Also necessary...
Injector o-rings should be changed if Kazeem didn't do this earlier.

Gazzuzz you should have shown that "Huge Snake" your friend saw on his way to FRSC office. That would certainly get it to front page

Got the weighing scale locally at 2200, vacuum pump 20-28k( I give this range because only one seller sold at 20k, others claimed new stock + dollar), gauges 3500-15000 depends on the brand you get, couplers 800, Harp was the most expensive gas at 1500(I hear it's now around 1800 for 340g), ND-8 oil 500. The oil you need depends on your compressor so I didn't price other PAG oils.
