Hello, Just wanted to check in to ask how the visa interview went. I hope you got it. I'm in F2B category as well. Valolisa147: |
F2B category PD March 2016 Finaly got DQ June 2022 after a couple of back and forth Now all we can do is continue to wait. Hoping the bulletin starts advancing soon. |
Good day everyone Who has applied for emergency appointment recently in the Lagos US Embassy please? How long did they take to respond? Has anyone applied for EA before the 60days rule please? How did it work out? |

I have been trying to fill my DS 160 form but the session keeps timing out and the site keeps logging me out. Who has experienced this before please? What can I do? |
I saw that someone said the school will just write "family funds" regardless of who it is. This information varies please! It's either they've remodelled the i20 or it depends on the school. I've seen an I20 where they wrote the full name of the sponsor and your relationship to the person boldly, so please, be sure what you want to do. Evaowokotomo: |
Yes it is possible. However, your case will be under a lot of scrutiny especially if you try to change less than I think 90 days. Read online about "adjustment of status in the US" and possible risks involved. ocpaschal: |
Kingcescy:I'm in a similar boat as you. They will most likely consider it but is it such a horrible thing to have a support system where you want to study? Let them see your seriousness and real intention for pursuing the degree. Don't forget to put them in your DS160 when asked if you know anyone in the US especially if they are sponsoring your degree. Personally I have gotten a B1/B2 visa approved a few years ago with this a similar scenario and now I'm applying for a student visa Speak your truth and leave the rest to God. All the best to us. |
Whogochuk:1. If you applied earlier than 60 days, how many days earlier did you apply please? 2. Please what was the date they responded and what date was your interview? I'm trying to figure out how close the interview date is likely to be to the response and to the date of resumption. |
Can someone please post interview waiver available dates for today. I want to know if I should bother paying the visa fees or not seeing as my deadline to apply is May 2022 |
Please is it possible to pay 2 visa fees and book 2 visa appointments (one in Abuja, the other in Lagos) with 2 different DS-160s (but with same data)? If one doesn't get favourable dates, is it possible to apply for emergency appointments in both consulates with the different DS 160s after having paid 2 separate visa fees. I hope my question is clear. |
Hello, I need your input on this please. I need a date for interview waver appointment between now and May 2022. Please is it possible to get or I should just forget about it. I'm working with such a tight schedule because I'll need my passport in hand by May to apply for another visa. How long do decisions for this IW usually take please? How many days later should I expect to get back my passport? |
Hello everyone Please, how do I join this telegram group asap? The links posted here are not working. Thanks. dixja: |

emmanuelle27:Thank you for your response. |
usernameosas25:I went for a conference and used that to visit family. You should give it a shot. You may be lucky too. I should probably add that I was in school at the time although the VO didn't even ask about that. Just questioned me on what I was going to do and told me not to mess up. |
Hello guys, I need your input on this. I'm sorry, it's going to be a long one, kindly bear with me: I currently have an active immigration case as my dad filed for me to immigrate into the US. This should come to fruition hopefully in a couple of years. I've always planned to do a masters in my field as soon as I immigrated but since the pandemic struck and everything slowed down, I feel like I should no longer just sit and wait for that. I have gotten an admission into a respectable US graduate school of my top choice (still looking for funding) and plan to apply for a student visa. My plan is to come back to Nigeria for my immigrant visa interview when it reaches my turn, I do not mind that at all. I'm hoping that will happen before my 2-year MSc is over. I want to get a masters in US specifically because that is where I plan to settle and a US degree will help secure jobs better and faster than degrees from another country I just don't want to keep my career stagnant because of an unfortunate pandemic causing a lot of backlog for my immigration stuff as I'm in the best phase of my life and career to take this step. I will like to add that I have previously gotten a B1/B2 visitors visa which I used once all while waiting for the immigrant visa. I had thought then too that they wouldn't grant the visitors visa because of my pending immigration stuff but they did. The visa officer just made sure to remind me not to mess up or overstay because that will negatively affect my immigration case. Also, I am contemplating applying for a renewal of my visitors visa before applying for the student visa since I qualify for their new 'no interview, drop box' renewal. This is because regardless of whether my student visa is approved or not, I will like to visit my family freely without breaking their rules. My questions are: 1. What do you guys think my chances of getting the student visa approved are? 2. Should I bother with the renewal of visit visa? 3. If my visit visa is approved and my student visa is refused after, will they cancel my visit visa that was approved? 4. If my visit visa is refused, will that negatively affect my chances of getting the student visa in a few months after? |
Hello guys, I need your input on this. I'm sorry, it's going to be a long one, kindly bear with me: I'm waiting to be DQ, under F2B PD March 2016 (visa bulletin is in Sept 2015) I've always planned to do a masters in my field as soon as I immigrated but since the pandemic struck and everything slowed down, I feel like I should no longer just sit and wait for my green card. I have gotten an admission into a US graduate school of my top choice (still looking for funding) and plan to apply for a student visa. My plan is to come back to Nigeria for my immigrant visa interview when it reaches my turn and I get an interview letter, I do not mind that at all. I'm hoping that will happen before my 2-year MSc is over. aurelosiberu:Wow! congratulations! Please can you share how you were able to get multiple visa appointments in such close proximity? I need it. I learnt the embassy doesn't grant emergency appointments once you've been refused within 6 months. Is it through visa agents? How does this work please? |
Kennytowel:Do you mind sharing what the note explanation you gave in your later accepted attempt said please. I'm in the same boat and trying to avoid and further rejection and delay. Since yours worked, I'll appreciate if you could share. Thanks. |
What is going to help us inject speed back into the NVC and embassies? I need them back at 2019 speed where visa bulletin would skip up to 2 months at a time and DQ wouldn't take so long and Visa appointments came earlier. I neeed |
Hello people, I'd appreciate suggestions on how to go about this situation: I'm in the F2B category and currently filling out AOS. My father filed for me but I also have a joint sponsor in person of my sister however, my sister files taxes jointly with her husband. I'll be submitting their jointly filled tax transcript. I believe my sister will have to fill a joint sponsor I-864A AOS form. On it she has to write her income, 1. Will she write her individual or joint income? 2. Will her husband, who she files taxes jointly with, have to fill a AOS form? If yes, which? |
Birth certificate missing. Replacement document? Hello everyone. I'm in F2B category and have been contacted to submit documents. I can't find my birth certificate so I went to the National Population Commision to get another one. Rather than give me a birth certificate lithankske I requested, I was issued some kind of letter of attestation of birth with my passport photo attached and stamped, all with correct details. I'd like to know if anyone else has been in similar shoes and if the attestation of birth letter was accepted by the NVC. Thanks. |

rekeson:I'll try that. Thanks. |
I keep trying to log into the ceac account with the details in the welcome letter. It keeps bringing out some error message. Please who knows what this means and what to do about it?
|
bake19:Yes I have. Why do you ask? |
bake19:Lucky him. They approved my petition after about 5 months but after using the calculator, I was 21 yrs and 4 months. They automatically put me in F2B. |
