Rawani: That is not a rational response. Eliminating the $2 cups and fixing the original water fountain is the rational response.
rolf. miss the point more

Obviously the business has decided that it is not cost efficient to repair a non revenue generating item like a water-fountain when they can replace it with cups that cost less then 3 cents each to buy.

Don't strawman my post
PoliticsRacism, The Rational & Logical Response To Black Behavior (philosophical Debate) by pleep(op): 5:33am On Aug 24, 2014
For the last couple of months i have been working part-time at a fast food restaurant near campus. The staff is majority white, with me being one of the few black employees and the patronage is 20/80% with whites being the majority of customers.

In the united states it is customary to offer free water to customers, and so when our water fountain broke we simply began giving out regular 2$ drink cups free to people who requested water. These cups came with the instruction to fill it up with water from our soda fountain. The white patrons at the store adapted to this change without issue, filling their cups with water as instructed. However, this was not the case with our black customers. For the several months i worked at this restaurant i observed the fact that 9/10 customers who stole drinks (would ask for a water cup and then fill it with soda) were black. In fact almost every black person who asked for a water cup proceeded to fill it with soda and run out of the store.

Today the restaurant decided to stop giving out free water-cups as a general policy, but in practice only to blacks. This is racism, but is it also the logical and rational response to black behavior? If so, then racism is justified and how can anyone then claim that racism is wrong?

How do they even handle the cold weather without clothing? How do those kids especially new born babies cope with the cold. It really baffles me.
I misspoke when i said they "dont suffer from disease" what i meant to say is they haven't been exposed to regular diseases like flu, chicken pox, cough etc. They are still the victim of tropicial illnesses and infections like malaria

As you can imagine the infant mortality rate is very high, which is the reason their populations are so small. As for temperature, its the jungle, it does't get cold

yea, they also dont suffer from disease because of how isolated they are from everything. As a result they have no immunity either so even the common cold would kill them.

erictoonice: thats a fat lie, girls hav more loosed friendship than guys cos they pretend a lot, lots of jelousy, envy, and lies. guys are much more simple with friendship and prefers action, wen guys arent close they are not but girls will pretend to each other for the rest of their life, wen quarrel comes, guys jst act mature and keep things to themselves in the case of girls u'll see the real jelousy manifesting at the end. Being emotional is not jst by some fake displays but inaction!!!
I think you guys are right about that.

But still, in the historical sense male friendship has weakend a great deal.... To give you a sense of this; in ancient Rome the only form of love that is translatable into the modern concept was male friendship (typically men who had fought in war together)

Any other form of love was considered to be lust, or convenience. To the Romans male friendship was stronger than the bond between children and parents or husbands and wives!

Yes, most of you ladies are secretly bisexual. The male/female definition of what is homosexual behavior is different... by the male definition a good 90% of yall would be considered BI.

many women will watch lesbian porn yet still call themselves straight.

The Ikoro: What gives you the idea women don't give themselves pet names because they are lesbian partners?
Is it because homosexuality is condoned only when female, and condemned the minute it's male?

Man is on its way to extinction if it does not learn how to love its gender as Woman has learnt how
to love her own gender. And if only that love need not be more than platonic, women would not deign to
give not only pet names to each other, but also hugs, touches, kisses that conceal from the
uninitiated only that which lies beneath the surface.
I like this post... This guy knows whats up grin The vast majority of females are bisexual or plain lesbians, Science has proven this. Just look at the way women behave in the club... you would not act like that with someone you were not sexually attracted too.

Stop mentioning names of prominent pple who are gay. The bible says "though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not go unpunished.
The guys that whine the most about homosexuality are usually the gayest dudes.

You people need to stop fronting, Africa has more pressing issues then gays.

Male nick-names should be things like ; Stagger, guy-man, or Guy-yo-yo grin

I think the reason why female nicknames take on a romantic flavor is because most women are secretly bisexual
RomanceRe: Girls Can Call Themselves Pet Names But Guys Cant? by pleep(m): 7:24pm On Sep 15, 2013
In the long run homophobia will hurt straight men more than gays. Most guys are so scared of homosexuality that they restrict their behavior and keep friends at arms length. The result of this is social isolation and weaker inter-personal bonds.

Physical contact, and little things like pet names actually connections between people and strengthen friendships, which is why women get much much more out of their friendships when compared to men. Male friendships are relatively cold in comparison

A feeling of social connectedness is something most men are lacking and it leads to a whole host of mental and behavioral problems.

kingoflag: Dude, do you want us to go to our vital Statistics office and search each others records because I really dont know what the hell you think ure trying to teach me?
lol what?

What i'm saying is that the minimum wage is not a good law, and it has not created prosperity.

Any benefits it has created has been defrayed by increased unemployment, increased cost of goods, increased taxation to pay for wallfare programs... and increase idleness that leads to crime trapping people in a cycle of poverty.

The standard of living Americans enjoy is because of one thing: debt. Without debt we wouldn't be able to go to college, buy cars, buy houses etc etc.

shymexx: @ the bolded is where the problem lies. And since the manufacturers/companies have no say in government policies and, in that system of government - the government is run like a corporation to maximise its profits. Then it's going be the same vicious cycle.

Minimum wage isn't really a bad thing since it's like an equilibrium constant. However, it's just too low compared to the cost of living.
haha your acting like America is not a democracy

We have a trillion dollar deficit, and Obama still cannot gather support to increase tax on the wealthy. Contrary to what you believe corporate interests are extreamly strong in the American government, and at the end of the day every politician is trying to get re-elected.

Trust me there is a 0 percent chance of tax increases in the near future, especially not after a recession.

filani: First posted on this thread ages ago, judging by majority of male posters response I'm so glad that a number of us guys have decided to wise up.

Stay focused on your academics/career, make that paper and all the trappings that come with it and the world will be your oyster.

The truth of the matter is that most of the BS we guys go through in relationships is not because we have to but because WE ALLOW IT !!!

Who decided that men/guys are to be the ones perpetually doing the chasing?
Who decided that a girls time , energy, emotions is worth more than mine as a guy?
Who decided that because the letter of the bible says "He that findeth a wife..." Automatically means that I as a Good Man am not worthy of being 'found' by a discerning woman as well?
P.S
I said 'Woman' not little girls claiming woman.

Albert Einstein said 'The definition of INSANITY is doing the same action, in exactly the same way over and over again and honestly believing you will get a different result !!!'

If we guys want to be taken seriously in relationships, we cannot afford to come to the table with a beggarly mindset and think that we will be treated rightly.
As a guy by all means be respectful to the girl in your life but make it very clear to her from the onset that love, respect, chasing/wooing is a Two way street.
Don't allow any girl to demand from you what she herself can't or won't give back to you!!!
Round of applause!

shymexx: I don't think dropping the minimum wage would have a bearing on the price of goods, since in the west, the government isn't really an employer of labour. Things that affect the price of goods are: taxes, cost of transportation and other miscellaneous things. So getting rid of the minimum wage won't stop the government from increasing taxes, cost of transportation and other things.

Personally, I think the problem lies with extreme capitalism because the society is for the rich and rich alone. The poor are just there to complete the hierarchical structure and serve the rich.
Dude, economic theory has to be analyzed "ceteris paribus" All things constant. Assuming no other variables change, eliminating the minimum wage will almost certainly decrease the cost of living in America. This is for 2 main reasons:

1. The cost of producing products would go down. This is because of the decrease in wages expense for manufacturers

2. The price elasticity (price consumers are willing and able to pay) would become more rigid, simply because people would have less money to spend.... and so producers would be further incentivized to lower their prices.

FIVE FUCKIN DOLLARS http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/news/us/study-finds-median-wealth-for-single-black-women-at-5-236905/

You try spending 20, 50 $60,000 dollars to go to school before you act like america is a cakewalk. I know people who have over 100,000 in student loan debt at 8% interest. America is no promised land

Loads of mofo just exist on this planet - it's a crazy world, yo.
Yes indeed, speaking of which... its only because of those Mexicans working below minimum wage that we are able to enjoy cheap lettuce and tomatoes in the grocery store. grin

Which illustrates another point; if we got rid of the minimum wage the price of goods in America would fall... probably to the point where the 5 dollars/hour could actually sustain a family.
PoliticsRe: USA Minimum Wage Vs Nigeria Minimum Wage. by pleep(m): 5:16pm On Sep 15, 2013
kingoflag: What the hell is this crap you just posted?
Its called economics. The point where the supply and demand curves (S, D) intersect is called the market price. The minimum wage sets the price above this level, (green line)

resulting in a surplus.

i'm sorry if this goes a little over your head.

PoliticsRe: USA Minimum Wage Vs Nigeria Minimum Wage. by pleep(m): 5:08pm On Sep 15, 2013
The minimum wage is one of the worst laws in America. If you have a basic understanding of economics you would realize that a price floor (a minimum price for a product) creates a surplus in said product. This is because they are some positions that are simply not worth 10/hour.. so employers save money by not hiring people.

This is one of the chief causes of unemployment in the united states. If we had no minimum wage some people would be working for $4, 5, 6/hour, but atleast they would have jobs, not sitting at home on welfare smoking weed and producing children.
