Ikenna351: Ha! Which one be chronicles of Ikenna Chapter 1-35? Any link abeg? You can try this: https://www.nairaland.com/1388493/chronicle-ikenna-chapter-1-35 |
Chronicle of Ikenna 1-35 1.In the days when the judges ruled, there was strife in the Fora Politico. The judge Jaru the Mixed, from the land of confluence of rivers, abdicated his post. 2. Afa the son of Foreva was appointed judge in the Fora Politico to ease the laden on Oam the son of Forj. 3. But there was still strife in the Fora Politico, between the Ndi, the Odudas, Hasfula and Igon who dwell by the creeks. 4. And there arose a certain zealot, Ike the son of Nna, from the land of the Autocar, across the lower River Ja. 5. On the ninth day of the fourth month, two thousand and thirteen years after the death of our Lord, the Emperor Sehu the son of Ozewa appointed Ike the son of Nna judge over the Fora Politico, where the strife was rife. 6. But there was still strive in the land, between the Ndi, the Odudas, Hasfula and Igon who dwell by the creeks. 7. And Ike the son of Nna saw the strife in the land and vow to put an end to it before it puts an end to the empire. 8. And thus did Ike begin; he wrote edict, signed with the seal of his office, bearing his name and father’s name. 9. He sent messengers to the four kingdoms saying, "The other judges tolerated your excesses, and accepted your norms. But I shall not. I will deal with you troublemakers with iron hand.” 10. Then he addressed the people from the Kingdom of Ndi saying, “I am from your Kingdom, but I pay no obeisance to your king, and shall show no mercy to my brethren. I shall deal with you with iron hand. I will not aid your quarrels with the Odudas, neither will I come to your aid against the Kingdom of Hasfula.” 11. And signed them with the seal of his office, bearing his name and father’s name. This insignia did he emboss on messages to the four kingdoms. 12. But the people say to him, "We have our laws, and edicts handed over to us by our founders; we have our customs, norms, and traditions, surely your new laws shall not stand." 13. But Ike the Son of Nna would not listen to the people. 14. He threw sons and daughters from the four Kingdoms and beyond into his dungeon. He derided their elders and threatened their offspring. 15. The people of the four kingdoms sent emissaries to him saying "We have laws, and edicts handed over to us by our founders; we have customs, norms, and traditions, surely your new laws shall not stand until the Emperor accents them." 16. They challenged him vigorously saying, “Surely you cannot throw us all into the dungeon; our offspring shall continue our way of life, including our toddlers. We shall resist your edicts and shall not relent until you are gone.” 17. But Ike the son of Nna, responded saying, "Begone you troublemakers! Your laws, edicts, and norm; your tradition and practice has brought strife and suffering upon the land. I shall put an end to it." 18. And Ike the son of Nna thereupon made more edicts, and signed them with the seal of his office, bearing his name and father’s name. 19. Thus did he again refuse to listen to the people. 20. He espied them; threw some of the elders and many of the sons and daughters of kingdoms into his dungeon. 21. And Ike the Son of Nna, saw all that he had done and was very pleased with himself. And his patted himself on the back saying “I shall not cease, until the strife in the land is come to an end.” 22. Unbeknownst to Oam the son of Forj, the Judge, who sits before Afa the son of Foreva in the council of judges, he had erased some messages written by Ike the son of Nna. 23. Whereupon Ike the son of Nna challenged Oam the son of Forj to stay out of his fights against the strife in the land as ordered by the Emperor. For it has become his obsession. 24. And there was strife among the judges in the Fora Politico 25. The people of the four kingdoms were not happy. They sent emissaries to the Emperor Sehu the son of Ozewa , to his Prime Minister, Muki the hermit, the daughter of Natu. 26. Saying “O gracious emperor, may your reign be long. Your servant Ike the son of Nna treats us unfairly. He threatens our fathers and our children he throws in his dungeon. Surely, O wise Emperor, you would not like to see the empire deserted and the kingdoms in ruins. Hearken, O Emperor, and remove the wicked judge Ike the son of Nna from council in the Fora Politico, and free our sons and daughters from captivity in his dungeon.” 27. Thereupon, the Prime Minister, Muki the hermit, daughter of Natu opened the gates of dungeon and thus set free some prisoners kept in chains by Ike the son of Nna. 28. Now Ike the son of Nna looked and saw the people from his dungeon parading before him like princes and princesses. He was very displeased. 29. When he saw they were set free, without his knowledge, by the Prime Minister, Muki the hermit, the daughter of Natu, his heart was troubled. 30. Then he looked again and behold large number of the dissidents set free from his dungeon where from the Kingdom of Odudas, he was filled with anger and sorrow. 31. He call out at the Prime Minister, Muki the hermit, the daughter of Natu in rage; and pleaded with the Emperor to punish him if he was wrong in his fights against the strife in the land. 32. But no one would listen to him - not the Prime Minister, nor the Emperor. Not even his people from the kingdom of Ndi across the river, for he had addressed them harshly, derided their king and threatened their young. 33. And Ike the son of Nna saw the conspiracy and his eyes were opened. And thus did he address the people saying, “I now know the people I work with. I get it now.” 34. On the seventeenth day of the fifth month in the year two thousand and thirteen after the death of the Lord, the Emperor Sehu the son of Ozewa appointed Sexi the son of Killiz, judge in the stead of Ike the son of Nna from the land of Autocars, across the River Ja. 35. But there was still strive in the land, between the Ndi, the Odudas, Hasfula and Igon who dwell by the creeks. I hope OAM4J learn's from this. |
Is this an indirect move to adopt President GEJ as APC consensus candidate? So much for posturing. Bunch of clueless, and ideological deficient people seem to congregate in APC. Shameful! |
software man: SO HAVE YOU NOW AGREED THAT THE POLICY OF RELOCATING IS NOT PECULIAR TO LAGOS STATE AND THE TRIBE OF THE DESTITUTE S IS NOT PECULIARLY IGBOS? SO NOW COME LET'S REASON TOGETHER.First of, please learn how to type in online forum. All caps beside being difficult to read, is also consider as shouting. Now one the issue you raised. Let me us be clear on one thing. Nigeria is a Federal Republic with constitution that allows for freedom of movement and residence. The issue of destitution need to be properly defined before theorizing on how to deal with it. Cases where people are picked randomly on the street for loitering, hawking, soliciting does not imply destitution. Fashola failed WAEC and would have become a mechanic as we speak, and perhaps would have been rounded up by KAI, as destitute, on his from Ladipo Market after buying spare parts from an Igboman, to fix a car in Mile 2. But you and I know that Mechanics are not destitute - the provide valuable service, even though they may appear dirty and unkempt (**wonders how Fashola would look like as a Mechanic**). As a matter of fact, not all beggars can be even be termed destitute - some see begging as profitable profession, and may be encouraged by religious believes. Of course I do not subscribe to this way of life. Destitute define those without the basic necessities of life; not having and synonym such as needy - indigent - poor - necessitous - penurious also defines destitution. It is a known fact that several (perhaps majority) Nigerians live below the poverty line - falling in the category of destitution. Should every Nigerian now be sent to 'rehabilitation' centers? The issue of re-integration with their family is also a none starter if the relatives are also indigents - destitutes. Basically, the responsibility lies in government at every level providing creative solution, and opportunity for citizens to lift themselves out of poverty - destitution. It certainly not by carting them away in trucks and forcefully rehabilitating, |
Please add State sponsored kidnapping, and force detention in camps - whether labour or skill acquisition camps. My answer is NO (in caps/bold). |
emiye: Dont you think those destitute and beggars are better of with their family's for social re integration ?What if they have no relatives, or are unwilling to relocate for sundry reason? Let's assume someone who became a Nigeria citizen by naturalisation, birth etc becomes destitute in Nigeria, where do you deport such individual to? |
emiye: But the subject of the said letter i have attached states" Repatriation of Lunatics, Beggars and Destitutes to their home state".If Akwa Ibom or Anambra repatriate destitute/beggar it is wrong and unconstitutional; and in the same way, it is criminal, evil and wickedness to dump them in the middle of nowhere in the dead of the night! |
Akainzo: Agreed that was not the best thing to do by those social workers, however, where was the Anambra State govt for 3 months? So because Anambra state did not turn-up to inspect/receive those kidnapped by Lagos State (for whatever reason) then Lagos State is justified in maltreating (and starving) them to the point of dumping them in the dead of the night at Onitsha bridgehead? Are you human at all? |
ojubi: I am a certified psychiatric nurse. Please say it LOUDER so that the ethnically bigoted elements , defending Lagos maltreatment of unfortunate citizens will learn how things are done in civilised world. |
When will people stop this rubbish? I mean are the folks who open this sort of threads jobless, or just plain childish? Do they even know the amount of time and effort devoted to monitoring and moderating comments in a section as active yet volatile as the politics section? Do they know the sleepless night and opportunity cost of these moderating job? In fairness, these MODs are doing their best bringing sanity to these board and I strongly believe they should be commended, not hated and derided by childish and immature folks. I doff my hat for OAM4J, Afam4ever and Sexkilz. I know it's not easy being caught in the middle of these e-wars, but you folks have nonetheless done your best to ensure sanity is restored. I say well done! @Seun - the admin/webmaster, I like to know if you appreciate your MODs, I mean financially. If you don't, I think it's high time you started doing that. These guys (MODs) are working tirelessly for you and deserve more than a pat on the back. Meanwhile this thread I believe is borne out of ignorance, hatred, and pure malice - and it is only aimed at continuing the e-war. I suggest it should be locked, and allowed to drown in the growing pool of threads. |
@Op, If you hate anyone, pls purge yourself of such hatred. I doubt if Igbos have time for hatred as you are trying to insinuate. |
Wow, such striking resemblance. Babatunde Raji Fashola looks very much like his dad. Rest in Peace Pa Ademola Fashola. You have played your role, I hope those you left behind learn from your life and passing, that we all some day return to our creator, where we will be judged not by color or creed, but by our conduct while on the transient earthly journey. Adieu Pa Ademola Fashola |
As they say, the difference is clear, and below are the very obvious differences. Let's see if we can spot more difference between Lagos State and Akwa Ibom in this cases. First, unlike Lagos State, there is no evidence/suggestion/allegation that people were rounded, some at gun-point and carted away like refuse with no questions aked. Unlike the Lagos' case, I see nothing to suggest that the victims where placed in any detention center Akwa Ibom NEVER dumped anyone in the middle of nowhere in the dead of the night, unlike Lagos State. Unlike Lagos, when Akwa Ibom said two (2) they actually meant two (2) people, and NOT 70 (or any of it's variants) Akwa Ibom had medical certificateS to back up their claims of the mental state of those two, and they boasted extensive period caring for them in hospital, while Lagos State whisked Nigerian citizens into various camped, ostensible to teach them useful skills - skill that none of the deportee could confirm as at yet. The real reason is because they were poor and unable to speak the local dialect! In the case of Akwa Ibom no one died. In the case of Lagos State, we were told by eye witness that 29 died in the detention camp, while one of the deportee was later confirmed dead as a result of ill-treatment suffered in the detention camp, and while being deported. Akwa Ibom followed through and ensure that those two ON medical leave were indeed from Lagos and were handed over to Lagos State, while Lagos State rounded up several active people hailing from states as diverse as Lagos, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Edo, Anambra etc, termed them destitute and dumped them shortly after crossing the River Niger. The gesture of Akwa Ibom State in my opinion is humane and genuine act of kindness, but that of Lagos State, under the supervision of Fashola is very barbaric, wicked and unconstitutional. I still call upon Lagos State to release anyone still held hostage in their detention camps. |
I see a some fairly well-dressed folks in that Fashola's container. Well dressed 'destitutes' - only in Fashole's Lagos! I hope he doesn't butcher them in his concentration camps! |
OneGuyLikeDat: Read what you wrote again and please rate yourself if you spoke sensibly. So because there are so many Nigerians in UK now, Nigerians can claim to own UK?Warped logic, from warped thinking. For the avoidance of doubt, UK is a country, and Lagos is just part of Nigeria - governed by the Nigerian constitution. Nigerian cannot lay claim to UK, but Nigerians own Lagos! |
PDP appear to be on the side of Nigerians in this issue. And people say they are evil. ![]() |
masu: MAYBE THE NORTH LIKE THEIR BEGGERS IN LAGOS DEPORTED AND KEEP UNDER A BRIDGE IN BIDA OR KATSINA,True talk; until confederation or outright saperation Nigerians must be free to live wherever without fear or favour. It's as simple as that. |
radiofreaked: educating you is harder than drilling for oil in switerzland. I know your tribal blind eyes didnt see the part were ibadan guys were dumped on molete bridge and all the cries by akala then. Skewed logic is worst than no logic. So even Akala cried foul and Fashola failed to learn? And you expected us to accept this illegality sheepishly? You must be from Mars! I mean no disrespect but you shouldn't be here. Go and play with toys or computer games. |
Fashola commited big blunder here; he's is the one whose action threaten the unity of the country. I fail to see what Obi has done wrong bring this unconstitutionality to public domain. Fashola should apologise to Nigerians, compensate the victims of his state sponsored kidnapping, release Nigerians still held captive against their wills and close down the various detention camps. These are the base condition for peace and semblance of normalcy! |
radiofreaked: your double standard wanna make me puke. Akwa ibom and ebonyi citizens were dumped in their home state you did not scream blue murder.Yet another display of comprehension problem. Show us the kidnapping, lenghty detention, and dumping by bridge head in the dead of night in the cases you highlighted above! |
Akpa ife: What is APC?Kind sir, APC simply means Anger & Pain Contraption! |
radiofreaked: hope the mods are watching pointb insult for telling me to check into a looney. Somebody should take care of him before i upload my vitrol mode.Comprehension is obviously didfficult for you. Again I suggest you join the growing army of FTC (First To Comment) looners if you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the topic. |
awodman: Just a question...what will it cost Fashola to apologize for dumping people under a bridge by 3am in the morning...I have never seen Fashola admit been wrong on any issue...That's the point here. Fashola and APC prefer grand standing rather that accept responsibilty for the misdeed and seek forgiveness. One of the victims said she was simply talking to someone by the roadside before being kidnapped by Fashola's agent. She also said no one bothered to ask her what she does Who does this sort of thing to citizen? Do we have neo-Nazis in government now? |
Standing5: Yes they were accomodated for several months by LASG. Whats bad in it. Are they suppose to take them to anambra without any attempt to reabilitate them and empower them? Or what's PointB crying over.maybe you should be kidnapped on your way home and be accommodated for several month without anyone knowing where you are. Perhaps then you will appreciate the gravity of the issue. Until a frog finds itself in hot water it will never appreciate that there are diffrent kind of waters. |
radiofreaked: please stop all your lies and propangada. All the peeps you claimed to be deported we have'nt seen their pictures nor get them interview on t.v or radio. No matter how you spin the lies its dead on arrival.why dont you keep quiet and read if you have nothing to contribute. It's not by force to post. I can't imagine someone will be disputing that deportation took place. Did you even bother to read the article? Better go join the growing number of the FTC looners. |
By the way, those who went through the horrible ordeals of state sponsored kidnapped ochestrated by Fashola have told severally of the way and manner they were treated. Their concern was how they were abducted and imprisoned while kept incommunicado, before they were finally dumped by the bridge head. These folks had little or no interest in politics. One has recently died as a result of the terrible. Who ever did that them should be reprimanded and should face criminal prosecution. It is sheer wickedness. |
APC and co can repeat the reunion lies as many times as they wish, the fact of the matter remains that Nigerians were held captive against their will in poor condition, kept incommunicado for several months, and then dumped by the foot of a bridge in the dead of the night! All these with the active connivance of wicked Fashola, the Lagos State governor. That is what threatens national unity, not Governor Peter Obi indignation which many rational people share! We still call on governor fashole to release many still held captive in his glorified concentration camps. Government sponsored kidnapping of citizens is akin to state sponsored terrorism! |
Hmm, where do one start addressing this topic? Should I start by saying 'Kabiyesi o' to Ji-su-pac(r) aka Rhino.dm the self acclaimed leader of yoruba on NL? Or perhaps I should check out what 'yorubas are' on google as been suggested by many posters? Perhaps I should start by parting big brother yoruba for dragging Igbos back into Nigeria from Biafra - so that they can be grateful to them forever! Maybe I should commend OAM4J for bringing up this overflogged issue over tribalism, nay, bigotry, to the fore for another season of short-lived sanity? Maybe I should commend indignant posters here who as so 'sophiscated' that they dont know if their problem is caused by Seun, Afam, Sexkilz, OAM4J, sincere9gerian or Eze Ndi Igbo - anyone but themselves? Perhaps I should... Perhaps I should just sit down with pop-corn and enjoy the whinning. It's just so funny to see adult spew venom for imaginary cause. Perhaps I should just keep quite knowing fully well that bigotry does not pay for my internet connection. I wish OAM4J all the best in his efforts and bid him to read the Chronicles of Ikenna Chapter 1 - 35 |
bobthebuilder99: You are a liar. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Actually do some research instead of talking out of your bottom.who cares about being liked or not, except for hypocrites, pretenders, and sychophants - people like you. The folks that survived Fashola detention camps are speaking loud and clear - they were arrested at gunpoint and kept incommunicado and one has died. Where is the lie in that? As we speak my cousin has gone missing in Lagos for close to a year now. It's possible he is suffering untold trauma at one of Fashola's camps. Fashola should release others still held against their wills in his Nazi-like camps. Those who have broken the laws should be prosecuted. This inpunity must cease. Fashola is an evil man! |
Majority of those abdupted at gun point and taken to Fashola's detention centre are, sadly, hard working law abiding citizens. Perhaps poor, perhaps found at the wrong places, but they commited no crime. They were kept incommunicado for up to 2 years in some case. And now one has died of illness and heartbreak. Fashola has murdered sleep, he will sleep no more. The blood of the dead is on his head. |
Basically, there is nothing on these letters that indicated 'deportation' was imminent, let alone date, time, and venue. The last letter invited Anambra official to come and identify 14 people who claimed to be from Anambra - including a certain Agboola. Why didn't Lagos State wait for this identification process to conclude, or write a reminder? Why nicodemusly dump Nigeria citizens in by the bridge, in the dead of the night. Did anybody bothered to read the letter from Akwa Ibom, which is very professional, and hard to fault. A genuine case of sick (mentally ill people) certified by doctors and only being repatriated because they genuinely need family care due to their mental state. The Akwa Ibom model is radically different, and very humane in comparison to the nihilistic model adopted by the gra gra officials of Lagos State. They bungle a simple process simply due to aggravated intolerance and fascism. Fashola is dead wrong to unilaterally dump Nigerians by the roadside in the dead of the night, simply because they are considered poor and Igbos! |
So the Lagos State Government want to butcher the traders because of one babaloja? We dey look! |
