PoliticsRe: Emir Of Anka Opposes Amnesty For Boko-Haram Members by PointB:
Within my domain, a sad experience occurred sometimes ago when an Igbo man, who owned a shop, was attacked and his shop burnt because his son was said to have torn a copy of the Quran. But upon investigation, I found out that a native of Anka, who was also in the same business with the Igbo man, deliberately roped-in the Igbo family. “He took a piece of paper with an Islamic
inscription on it and tore it into pieces in front of the Igbo man’s shop and then raised the alarm calling on all Muslims faithful to come and see a copy of the Quran torn into pieces by the son of the Igbo trader. The crowd grew angry and set the house and the shop of the Igbo man ablaze immediately. You can see that this native of Anka did this malicious act purely for personal interest and not religion. And that is how it is with the elite and the politicians”.
Truth is powerful; you cannot contain it for too long. I am sure this is the same situation that befell Akuluka, Mr. Gideon Akuluka, an Igbo businessman, who was dragged out from prison and beheaded for a crime he never committed. Rumours has it that the present Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was complicit in the horrendous crime.

Anyway, let's thank the Emir for siding with the truth. The solution to the boko haram crisis does not lie in amnesty. We should focus more on prevention of crime. Which better way to achieve this other than justice, fairness and equity.

Members and sponsor of the boko haram should be fished out and severely punished for their crimes; they must never be rewarded for causing untold hardship to several families, and the society at large. Future occurrence can only be deterred by strong punitive measure. Nigeria is changing; and Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan should stay course and never waver!

NO to amnesty for cold blooded murderers of fellow countrymen; NO to amnesty for terrorists!

Abegii,

If African Peoples Congress meets the requirement and are registered there is nothing Tinubu or anyone for that matter can do about it. Tinubu/ACN should quit whining and do things properly.

PoliticsRe: Presidential Pardon "Laughable And Tribalistic"- CPC by PointB: 5:43pm On Mar 13, 2013
@OPC,

So we should blame the Council of State for tribalism for granting the pardons? No problem, just let's know which tribe the Council of State belongs to.

Anywhere, a commendable compensation I may say.

The journey of a thousand mile has just began.

Waiting for Next appointment on merit.

lol.

You know I was wondering what would have happened if the pardon list contained two or more Igbo men. I bet you will hear crying of 'Igbos are dominating pardon list' all over the place. Sadly while our brothers from SW secretly rejoice in the pardon of Diya, hardly would you hear them commend the gestures. Another angle is the blame being heap on GEJ as if he granted the pardon by himself. No one mention the Council of State, nor the composition. Some people are just hypocrites, and only look out for their own interest. Nigeria is an interesting concept.

Anyway, back to the topic biko...

Remember, your enemies will want to lay banana spills on every side of your way just to see you fall.

Remain selfless and never discrimination when rendering your services to this country.

Be fair and honest, make sure things are done according to laid down rules, don't cut corners.

Eschew tribalism and nepotism but remember to balance the lopsided appointments of the past.

Seconded.

Though it is an interim appointed, by the virtue of the fact that he is the most senior. But I have no doubt that if he performs well in the interim position, it might juts be easy to get the nod for the job. I would join you in congratulating him, while urging that he performs his duties with diligent professionalism.

Well said my sister, and well done.

Some people will write trash and post them as facts! Facts verified by who?

Were we not here the other day when resident in North were celebrating a Boko Haram operation. Would anyone celebrate 'success' of one they do not support? The single most important fact is the one you have articulated - Boko Haram is a reaction from Northern elements/elites for not getting the nod to oversea the consumption of the one billion Naira food, with the private jets to go with it. It is a reaction by sore losers, no more no less.

And GEJ is right to deny them amnesty.

Suspected members of the radical Boko Haram Islamist sect attacked a police station in the Nigerian city of Kano on Tuesday – the city in which its co-ordinated attacks killed at least 185 people last week.

According to witnesses, gunmen surrounded the police station, in the Sheka neighbourhood.

They ordered civilians at shops and homes surrounding the station to get off the streets and began chanting "God is great" as they threw homemade bombs into the station and fired guns into the building.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, which followed the pattern of others carried out by Boko Haram, including the use of improvised explosives.

On Wednesday, the prison cells of the station stood open and blood could be seen on the floor of the local commander's private bathroom. Investigative files, apparently rifled through, covered the floors, and youths outside waved an officer's uniform.

A crowd of cheering youths jumped up and down on top of a burned-out police truck. Others in the crowd, speaking in the local Hausa language, said they would kill any police officer who returned. Some asked journalists visiting the site whether they were Christians. (perhaps to slaughter them too)

Boko Haram, whose name means "western education is sacrilege" in Hausa, wants to implement strict Sharia law and avenge the deaths of Muslims in communal violence across Nigeria, a multi-ethnic nation of more than 160 million people split largely into a Christian south and Muslim north.
PoliticsRe: Impeach Jonathan Now In The Interest Of Nigerians – Senator by PointB: 9:50am On Mar 13, 2013
HNosegbe: So we should impeach him and bring on who, Namadi Sambo? Will Nigeria fare any better under a Sambo presidency?

Instead of this senator to focus on passing the PIB, he's here talking nonsense.

I personally don't like Goodluck Jonathan, but Nigeria's problems go way beyond him, or even the PDP.

Let him have his four years. If we're not impressed, then we can vote him out.
Correct thinking.

I wonder who folks who argue passionately for the impeachment of GEJ wants to lead the country thereafter. You impeach GEJ and elevate Sambo, what good does that do and what will change? Without any iota of doubt, GEJ will not only have his four years, but will have groundswell support should he run for a second term.

FOI has been signed into law, Power is improving, trains are back, terrorism is being tackled heads-on, aviation is on track, and so much more. It takes a only a hypocrite and the worst kind of hater, motivated by ethnic, sectional, and partisan interest, to ignore all these, for the intangibles like the president's articulacy (or lack of it) and demeanor. Shame.

PoliticsRe: CPC & ANPP: The Actual Brains Behind Boko Haram by PointB: 8:17am On Mar 13, 2013
@Op,

I agree with you. And I think it's both a political and religious strategy to cow the president into submission. We know too well that the judicial system, which has also been infiltrated by the Boko Boys will give folks like Hussein Dei Dei a slap on the wrist and in no time, set him loose again like wolf among the sheep. One thing though is clear, those who destroy other on the way to success, will certainly meet destruction at the pillar of the success. That is how it works.

Frankly I do not know the bolded for fact. And I certainly don't see everything in black and white. I also happen to trust Alams more than Tinubu and Buhari, and I don't think you will mind seeing Tinubu and Buhari dining with GEJ.
