That wont be a revolution; that would be called arson. And you will become a common criminal. Set yourself ablaze in full view of news TV cameras, in front of the NASS Complex. That would qualify as statement of intent!

@PointB and am sure when ghana removed subsidy they did not have light, and am sure they were 150 million people living there, am also sure that there leaders where the highest paid in the world, and am sure also that there banks where no lending as well, oh i remember they also had boko whatever placing bombs and they had high leave of insecurity as well, let me guess they had bad roads and most of all they had leaders who said they would do one thing and never do it, if not then never compare us to them, the government laid the ground work for the fuel removal, if i dont have to buy fuel to run my generator everyday i wont mind, if i dont have to buy fuel in my car but can take easy good public transport i wont mind, if we have train services i wont mind but we dont which means the not only will the fuel price increase, food price will increase and so will transportation and accommodation, and yet they refuse to pay the minimum wage and so what point in time do we panic
Apart from electricity, Ghana is not better than Nigeria in any respect. Don't get carried away by what you hear. They only developed part of Ghana is Accra, and even at that, it does not compare with Lagos Island; and will all the electricity, Nigeria is a net exporter of finished good  to Ghana. You will not miss the NAFDAC label on most of the product in their store.

We don't need subsidy to survive or thrive. Let it go; fear not!
PoliticsRe: Acn Senators To Oppose Oil Subsidy Removal by PointB: 7:54pm On Dec 14, 2011
Rufai, and Buhari are in the minority; and they never voted for GEJ

The majority voted GEJ, and by removing the subsidy, he is acting on the interest of the majority. Most of the protest have been from the very loud minority.

Their objections are noted, and GEJ should still go ahead and boldly remove the subsidy.

We voted him to sanitise the system using whatever means at his disposal; take away the carcass  and the flies will disperse. Go on GEJ. We are solidly behind you. We the people have given you our mandate!

Perhaps if only to help it burn out of control, we should be there! Imagine two million disgruntled and frustrated Nigerians, with potential back-stabbers, cold-blooded killers, all bearing down on Lagos state or Abuja, on a very combustible item like fuel, all that would be need will be a little spark and Kabooooom! Same scare tactics used by benefactors of the subsidy against Nigeria. We are not convinced of these doomsday scenario. Ghana has removed fuel subsidy and have no real functional refinery; they don't have BRT nor use okada, they earn lower income than Nigerians on the average,  yet they are not as describe above!

Stop this doomsday tactics; fuel subsidy must go!

Why don't you go and find Wole Soyinka and ask him to prove why he called the PDP "a nest of killers"? Surely you are not blind and can I see the quotation marks I used?
The words of the wise (Wole Soyinka) have a way of becoming the rallying cry of the fools (who the cap fits). Since you agree with him like a lamb, why don't you provide evidence! I bet if you weren't blind, you would have noticed the fact that I returned your words back in quotation marks!
PoliticsRe: Revolution Is Here, Are You Ready? by PointB: 7:04pm On Dec 14, 2011
To go and inhale tear gas because some big men are about to lose the money they steal from our coffers in the name of fuel subsidy. No way! It is not a worthy cause.

Call me when it is time to agitate for spiting of Nigeria. Then I will answer!

Until then, I shall not be used to pull down a minority president.

"Those who allege must prove their case". Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The onus is not on El-Rufai to "clear" his name. His accusers should simply present and prove their case. Until then, no one can deny El-Rufai the right to participate in partisan politics.
^^^^
In the same way, the onus is on you to prove the "nest of killers" comment below. Art least start by showing us the killers with 'evidence.'

Gbawe:
*Yawn*. Oga El-Rufai, we know the PDP is a Party of criminals. Nothing demonstrates this more than how Nigerians mainly have zilch to show for 12 years of PDP rule. The only interesting part of the article , for me, is quoted below. Those wanting to rid the nation of the PDP at the centre should start selling themselves now and begin to forge alliance throughout Nigeria today. Otherwise, despite how badly the PDP fare, we will still have a "nest of killers" member as President come 2015.
PoliticsRe: My Last Cry For The North(the North Is Finished) by PointB: 6:19pm On Dec 14, 2011
I don't understand the part below. Historically speaking, are the Northern Christian and ethnic minorities a threat to the Northern Muslim and ethnic majority, or the other way round?

Because it's seems to me that this writer has it mixed up? Or is this indeed the current perception among the majority Northern muslim? If it is, then it clearly explains the tacit approval Boko Haram is getting from the northern populace; and it certainly does not bode well for Northern Christians and ethnic minorities. Turbulent times ahead!

Meanwhile, OP, do you have a link to the article?

It cannot raise the danger of a resurgent northern Christian and ethnic minority mentality which sees northern Muslims as the enemy in every facet of its existence, and which defines faith and political activity largely around fighting Muslims and Islam.

I agree. It is an everyday show in NL. Even this thread I do not even understand how it got to this extent. This turned into an Igbo vs.Yoruba thread all because Igbo were laughing at the display of OPC march in lagos and of course afameva claim of what he claimed GEJ said about igbo being the only nigerian group to practice one nigerian and automatically some ppl are bitching that igbo bashing yoruba hence retaliating despite having nothing to retaliate about.  SMH.  Some people have time,  I do not get why point_B, afameva and igboboy are engaging in this argument.  They should just focus on the topic at hand and ignore the bigots in my opinion.
Abeg remind them what this is all about.

Gbawe:
Olodo. You cannot even understand that such childishness is an indication  not "of my beef"but of how clannish and divisive your sort are with silly attention-seeking antics, driven by inferiority complex, that just expose your pathetically feudalistic nature. How come no Yoruba has agitated for an "Are Ona Kakanfo" of NL? Are we not the "tribalists" who see everything from an ethnic viewpoint?  Have we seen a Northerner convene a vote for "Emir" of NL? If all such begin to happen what is then the fate of a Nigerian forum where we are all supposed to come here and discuss as Nigerians? Let the forum note those quick to always pander to ethnic bigotry yet, next minute, annouce totally ridiculously that they "practice one Nigeria" most.

My jobless loser friend, I challenge you to bombard the forum with "Igbo this, Igbo that". You will only generate the sort of hate for decent Igbo folks some Northern leaders achieved for Northerners when they could not be tolerant enough to respect the secularity of Nigeria via their surreptitious efforts to enlist Nigeria amongst the Organisation of Islamic cooperation. Please be my guest .
lol, this guy is incredibly stu.pid, I can't believe it.  grin grin grin

Ok. Now listen up, let me break it down for you.

1. I am clannish. True. Get clannish yourself or live with my clannishness.
2. I seek attention. From who? Who is watching, you? Get a life, mofo!
3. Yoruba have not agitated for "Are Ona Kakanfo" ?  grin grin grin What is that? And how is my business what Yoruba agitate for not. By the way, did you just say yoruba. I thought you would have generalised it as other Nigerians, since you are not bigoted.  grin
4. Inferiority complex, and feudalistic nature? How exactly does my complex and feudalistic nature affect you? Can't you look beyond it and do your thing? Oh I get, it gives you the yardstick to appraise yourself and your folks as to feel superior and non-feudalistic.  grin grin grin. At any rate, whatever make you sleep better at night, do or say!
5. All are supposed to discuss as Nigerians? Where did you get that crap from? Is it part of the forum rules? Has any body been banned for not discussing as Nigerian? Oga, stop yarning nonsense after all, you claimed intellectual superiority, start acting like one!
6. Oga Gbwae, if Igbo this, Igbo that, is what I feel like talking about, do you think I care what you or your ill think? You really think your opinion matter here? Bros, you are one naive ant, in this gathering and scheme of thing; and you count for nothing! Stop overestimating your importance. You are only important in your own house, and to whoever think you are. As for me, I don't give a rat-azs about you or your philosophy.

Any further question?

Otherwise, how else can one explain a situation when a supposedly cyber-adult who is not into 'online bragaddocio' (but manages to brag he blogs from different countries grin) whine relentlessly over everything, and every post by other ethnic group?

Come Gbawe, how old are you? Why do you complain and whine so much? Why are you so much into bitterness and hatred? Why do you attached so much importance to Nairaland, and posters of other ethnic groups - especially Igbos? Why do you make so much effort to distance yourself from you bigoted view? Why don't you have other life, or develop thick skin, if cyber is your only life? Or maybe if you learn to compartmentalize, you wont be so bittter, and bitchy. Your Highness, Eze Ndi Igbo 1, of Nairaland

I greet you. May your reign bring advancement to Igbo, and may it bring peace and harmony to Nairaland.

I thank you for the generosity of praise, and lavish of prayers. I also thank you for the confidence bestowed on my ability by your invitation to serve in your cabinet as Prime Minister. I am indeed humbled.

I wish to however humbly decline the offer. This is not only unconnected to the obvious fact of my recent function as electoral commissioner, and I am wary about sending unsavory signal to detractors who may jump into false conclusion. Furthermore Odumchi, and many other capable hands are more deserving of the position. I personally trust Odumchi will bring necessary insight and experience which is needed at this point in time. My service, and support to your reign is nevertheless guaranteed even in normal capacity.

Thank you once again.
