Only a aboki will take serious the words of 1, 2, 3, 4 disparate people, and discount that of a group. Group seeks Middle Belt’s separation from North^^^ They know what is coming . . . https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-784040.0.html But then you are a aboki, so whatever makes you sleep better at night (while it lasts). My state governor is setting the pace! |
Akanbi_edu:Say one bigot of another? Buhari was so good that he was roundly and disgracefully rejected? Na wa for some people and their logic! |
jmaine:Don't mind them, let them continue to dissipate energy promoting the likes of AregbeRascal (Beaf notation) or AregbeSewer (PointB notation) the international symbol for mediocrity; and Amosun the ex-cultist. We know how this will all end when the poo hits the fan. Silly desperadoes! |
^^^ You are gradually being isolated, soon you will crawl on your knees and beg for truce. All this braggadocio show of strength is clearly veneer and pretentious. You are in a very weakened position. Nigeria will soon leave you behind! Enemies are already within and at the gate! Wake up, clown! https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-784040.0.html |
KnowAll:Stop that nonsense my friend! How can you ask these intellectuals, and proven technocrats to fall behind Buhari! What kind of rubbish talk is that? The bigotic murderer and ex-dictator Buhari should be rotting jail! He can never ever rule this country, nor can he be a king maker! By the way, being a governor, and ex-military dictator is not, and should never be the criteria for electing a president, let alone serving a term or two! |
Without Fashola, ACN is lost! |

Demdem:Tribune is a national newspaper, and are more credible than sahara reporter know to have deliberately, and maliciously publish fake news. This thread remains classic of sahara reporters using fake news as propaganda https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-568502.0.html |
I can only laugh at the nature of opposition. Are these the people that will compete with the Chime, Rochas, Amechi, and may perhaps fashola of these world? I think this is a brilliant and well thought out move by the people of the middle belt. For crying out loud, what is the cultural similarity between the Benue people and the Core North - North Kaduna, Kano, Bornu, etc? Leeching upon the goodwill and gentility of the other culture in name of 'North' should stop. Middle Belt Governor's Forum should be form now! |
Plot to discredit Jonathan uncovered *How ministers will be made to fight Okonjo-Iweala *The Umaru Yar'Adua, 2015 angle Written by Olawale Rasheed, Abuja Sunday, October 16, 2011 Plot to discredit theJonathan administration has been uncovered with three separate influential groups said to be behind the agenda whose implementation is already underway. Findings by Sunday Tribune revealed that the plan is being financially backed by three groups, with each collaborating to ensure a discredited federal administration before the 2015 general elections. The first group was allegedly linked to some loyalists of the late President Umar Yar'Adua who were said to be bitter about the fall- out of the succession plan. The second group was reported to be affiliated with some retired generals of northern extraction who are said to be miffed by the refusal of President Jonathan to make expected concessions to them as a placatory gesture. The third, Sunday Tribune findings showed, centred around an amorphous group from across the federation who are dissatisfied with the emerging economic and fiscal programme of the administration. Sunday Tribune reliably gathered that the implementation of the agenda was already afoot with the planned removal of fuel subsidy said to be the strategic take-off point for a full blown onslaught on the administration. Specific aspects of the agenda, Sunday Tribune learnt, included driving a wedge of discord within the federal administration by pitching the president against his deputy and by pitching the ministers against the coordinating minister for economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. Other areas of the agenda included deliberate misinformation about federal policies and programmes, arousing tribal suspicion through allegations of South-South domination and the portrayal of the Jonathan presidency as anti-people and a puppet of both the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. The expected goal of the plot was said to be the total discrediting of the president and his team that "they will be in a very weak position before a nation that would be clamouring for a change as a prelude to the 2015 poll." A specific aspect of the plot, the creation of rift between the president and the vice president, was said to be on-going with two recent reports and incidents which portrayed Vice President Namadi Sambo as being in cold war with his boss over assignment of roles and the 2015 succession game plan. Sunday Tribune was told that the incident at the North West zonal meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party was a major attack on the unity of the presidency as the Vice President unknowingly walked into a zonal meeting where political traps were already laid for him. With branded campaign vehicles and posters of 2015 presidential ambition, the schemers, it was alleged, had hoped to portray the Vice President as disloyal and therefore create a wedge and conflict in the heart of the presidency. "The agenda is on. Soon more reports will circulate of the Vice President's anger against Dr Iweala. The plan is to consistently peddle lies of frictions with the hope that in due course, it would soon become a fact that will pitch the president against his deputy",a source noted. While some ministers had issues with the powers allocated to the coordinating minister for the economy, Dr Iweala, Sunday Tribune was told that those behind the agenda would soon raise more questions about power relations within the Federal Executive Council, with the goal of splitting the council along the line of pro and anti-Iweala. Another top source stated that "a general climate of misinformation is part of the agenda ", noting that "many false stories that are capable of setting the country ablaze or against the president will soon be emerging. "You read of the foreign refinery issue, the alleged focus on Niger Delta alone. More are coming and the public and the media should be wary of such unfounded stories'', adding that "there will even be an attempt to pitch some Niger Delta leaders against the president." Meanwhile, the governor of Benue State, Honourable Gabriel Suswam has risen in stout defence of President Jonathan, describing him as "a firm leader " who nonetheless believes strongly in "democratic tradition, due process and the rule of law". Speaking with Sunday Tribune in Abuja, Suswam berated critics of the president whom he accused of working to thwart on-going national reformation and transformation agenda capable of changing the fortune of the nation for the better. While urging Nigerians to rally round the president, Suswam expressed apprehensions over the attitude of some Nigerians to their leaders and called for a change of attitude so that the leadership would deliver on good governance. "I urge Nigerians to rally round the president as he is doing his best to take the nation out of the woods. "Because the president is humble and democratic does not make him weak. When we had Obasanjo, we called him an autocrat. Now we have a believer in due process and democratic application of state power, we say he is not firm. What exactly do we want?," the governor asked. http://odili.net/news/source/2011/oct/16/621.html |

Bliss4Lyfe:You are just too smart for these pretenders, aren't you? ![]() |
nagoma:WE (southerners and middle belts) I will personally donate funds to help give northerners a better education. It will be my contribution to help alleviate the plights of several disadvantages people. Charity must begin at home. Freedom to the NORTH! ![]() |
alj_harem:I think this mumu makes some sense when he said and educated north will create more division in the north. But he is still a mumu, for not realizing that those so-called division will engender new ideas and new ways of doing things. Then he sunk lower when he encourage Almajiris to join the military, for pete's sake, what kind of country are we in when the worst of the society represent the best of our hope? Why would the military institutions be plagued with this kind of system? Is that the reason, our respected armed force behave sometimes like 'cow's? Imagine thousand of Almajiri from Zamfara, Bornu, Bauchi, etc enlisting in the military. Hmm, na wa oo. i think to encourage professionalism, a fairly good SSCE/WAEC grades (6 credits including english and maths) should be the basic minimum for enlisting in the Nigeria military. That said, I think other southern tribes - Igbos, Yorubas, Ijaws, etc, should also start massive enlistment in the the arm forces. Who know when we might need them. These rot must must be halted! |
I am for it, if Boko Haram, MEND, OPC, and MASSOB are invited! ![]() But seriously we need to give government more time. |
namfav:Without mincing words, I think the question should be, can Nigeria survive another war? - Boko Haram - MEND /OPC - OPC - MASSOB - JOS - Southern Kaduna Put all those variables into the mix, and the answer becomes clearer - Nigeria cannot survive a war, but the emerging nations will. |
I will support Occupy Lagos Protest! Easy to organise: Free jobless agberos (area boys) to make all the noise; brt, danfos and taxi drivers will convey protesters to the venue, while Okada and Keke Marwa (tricycles) will bring in the rest of them. Lagos here we come! ![]() |
^^^ of course it's a fact because u said it. You infallible genius. |
^^^ of course it's a fact because u said it. You infallible genius. |
I have always said that educating the north is a national security matter. It will eradicate boko haram, polio, and also reduce poverty. That said I believe that the idea that an average educated northerner has more integrity and honesty than his southern counterpart is illusory and has no empirical basis. If it were so, these so called men of honesty and integrity would have sold the idea of education to their people. However for all intent and purpose, the reverse is clearly the case. |
Without doubt, with over 40 million igbo people and several other millions of Nigerians having Biafra lurking somewhere at their subconsciousness, the country can never make tangible progress. I think Nigeria should discuss biafra and deal with issue comprehensively before we can make meaningful progress as a nation. But then this is Nigeria, we only have discussions with armed groups! I won't be surprised if Biafra becomes yet again an armed agitation. We never learn! |
Bad roads! |
@topic Lagosians are well know for using second-hand goods. Impressive fashola, more second hands good please! ![]() Fashola said the state government decided to embrace the opportunity of procuring the used coaches offered in Canada when the negotiation between manufacturers and the concessionaire showed that it would take about six to eight years to manufacture new coaches to the specifications for use in Nigeria.lol, thats true. They will be manufactured in mars, and shipped to planet earth. How can a whole governor spit such cock and bull story - six years to manufacture new coaches. I laugh in . . . ![]() |
Point of correction sun of god, the citizens love the finance minister. Those other lazy ministers who cannot work with her or with the president directive should go get another job. It's as simple as that. |
You have forgotten to mention ikuforiji and the chief drug baron himself - Asiwaju 'awon ole' Bola Tinubu. |
