Depends on the reason why he "suddenly" went broke and his attitude after the brokenness began.

Financial irresponsibility? Yup, I'm out. Something like loss of job, downturn in business through no fault of his? I stay.

Woe is me attitude and refusing to get back up with something doing, however little? I'm out!

Concerted effort to rebuild? I'll stay.

You have a valid point, I lost my job during covid, my babe was with me we were on NSPPD for a week, I was applying like mad, some people do break down and find it unable to move forward. The fear of not knowing what to expect.

We stay!

Newsneako:

God created woman to depend totally on the opposite gender why do you have problem with that. If you're a male and you are not ready to accept this fact you don't deserve a woman.

They won’t accept.

They want a woman who splits bills and still as submissive as a woman whose husband gives heaven and earth.

Talk about modern day confusion in the name of wokeness… undecided

FROM EXPERIENCE IN NAIJA,is so sad and sad
WOMEN=MONEY
WHETHER WIFE OF GF angry

FROM EXPERIENCE IN EUROPE AND KENYA WOMEN TAKE OF MAN THAT IS DOWN OR OUT OF JOB TILL HIS BACK ON HIS FEET AGAIN. grin
This because Nigeria women of this era are so locked in MATERIALISTic culture and driven by the illusion that man must provide all of it whether his down or not. THIS WHY MEN KILL IN POLITICS IN NAIJA TO GRAB POWER,LOOT TREASURY AND HAVE CONCURBINES ALL OVER AFRICA WITH COUNTLESS CHILDREN SHOWING THEM OFF AND FUELLING THEIR MATERIALISM.

IF DONT HAVE MONEY STAY AWAY FROM MARRIAGE OR UNLESS YOU ARE LUCKY TO MEET A NON MATERIALUSTIC WOMAN in Nigeria as in days of our forefathers.

shut up. Have you treated your own self?

All of you know you'd never be able to stay with a woman if she's not of any value to you but you always want to shut women up with your useless demand for being loved for no reason.

All the mentions yet the first thing there is a question you still couldn't answer.

No man wants to end up with some as loud as you are. No offense. Feel free to rant tho
Re: Ladies Would You Remain With Your Spouse If He Suddenly Goes Broke? by chatinent: 9:49am On May 02, 2023
When the goal of marriage is to alleviate poverty and to escape the judgment of friends for not getting married, surely the terms "darling" and "sweetie" will become obsolete when money no dey again. And the next deputy man for poverty alleviation, another rich man, will be handed over this disaster of a person to deal with.

But if both partners is built on love, understanding, trust, and a reasonable financial success, and if both want their lives to end with a happily-ever-after, the marriage will be able to weather storms and rifts, and even if it sinks, it will eventually regain its footing.

Sadly, some people have the perception, or have conditioned themselves to believe, that they were designed to be completely reliant on a guy. On the flip side, this means that if the man cannot be depended upon, they will look elsewhere for someone who can. This is the truth, even if they don't agree with it. If you marry a man for his money, once the money is gone or once it starts to decrease, you may begin to feel as like you are beginning to manage the relationship, which can lead to regrets.

When marriage is also seen as a favor, perhaps because you are beautiful or voluptuous, the basis of that marriage will be weak because you will spend more of your life not wanting to let the beauty fade...because it was the only ticket that got you there. When marriage is seen as a favor, the foundation of that marriage is prone to break.

Agreed, a man takes the bigger responsibility, but no one is doing anyone a favour in marriage.

Some ways of thinking are simply too dull, which is why many people believe that marriage is overrated and that there is no need to hook up with someone who is not only unproductive but also entitled and a pest. You must work irrespective of your gender! At least, to gain respect! No matter the love that exist, no one loves a pest. Fix yourself up no matter how little.

Every little efforts will be appreciated. In a world where you can work remotely, laziness isn't an option. And if you are working and feel it is not your duty to support your family, you, my dear, are a foolish woman. No apologies.

Comments I read here tho.

You don't know me so there is no way you care about my mental health you only want to dodge the questions and shut me up but you don see say you too small. You and your entire generation no well

There is nothing wrong with your question, it's sound. Fact remains people need to see some value in you to stick with you... I think if a man sees some value in that woman despite the health challenges, hE would stay. Likewise if a woman saw some value in her man despite his broke state, she would stay

easy yes.. My mother has a lifelong illness and was taken away by her sisters to a far state for about a year. We watched my father the whole time. He never had a mistress. She's back with him now doing nothing and he loves her just as much. Within myself I have made a promise never to cheat on any woman I end up with, and that's influenced heavily by my dad's actions.

Without money what does a Nigerian man have to offer? Nothing but blame game, grumpiness, self pity, emotional instability, witch hunting  grin ,frustration and jealousy.  cheesy grin

If he can handle his brokenness maturely maybe just maybe I will endure and find a way to help out. grin but really it's not about the temporary lack of funds but the wizardry that comes with a broke Nigerian man
You don't need to "endure" if you are not broke yourself. Financial safety/security is just one item in the list of numerous things that men offer. When you get one, assuming you deserve one, you will learn that a man brings some kind of security, just his presence alone does that.

He also brings warmth, support, comfort, companionship, humour/fun so that at least you both can laugh in your brokenness.

Broke men Bleep better too, so yea, you getting drilled properly.

You also need him to do so many dirty/risky jobs around the house.

I wanted to say that you don't need a man to be happy but seeing that you can endure with him if he is good shows that you are also broke and money is the next thing that can give you happiness.

Majority of Nigeria men are broke and many of these broke men are either married or fucking somebody's daughter on a steady so this your question is neither sensible nor necessary and whoever moved this to the frontpage is a bigger idiot than you are.

I would never understand the obsession with this kinda topic in a country where 95% of the population do not have N400,000 saved at every given time. Are most Nigerian men that rich?

Humanly speaking, I won't stay with him if he treated bad when he was financial ok and if I stay out of me not wanting to be too vindictive, he won't enjoy the marriage. But my faith won't allow me do any of the above cos I love God and I won't want to go against His precepts.
So yes I will stay and help him to get back on his feet in my own little way. I will do it for God and my children..........
