Considering the importance of finance in marriage, what should a man be making monthly before considering marriage in Nigeria, someone said 50k but based on the economic reality in the country, 50,000 is too small to sustain a home.

I believe a minimum of 100k per month is a enough to take care of a matrimonial home with just one child and this also depends on your location.

I might be wrong or right, so over to you what's your opinion on this topic!

Most importantly is the type of woman you're marrying and your location.
A person on 30k per month in kebbi can manage, but same can't be said about a new couple in Owerri or PH.

Op when you marry the right woman everything go set with as low as 70k plus side hustles. In the other hand if you like earn 250 or 500, when you marry the wrong woman she go frustrate ur life.

100k per month for a family of 3, that means nothing like outing, buying of clothes go be once In a while, cheaps schools or schooling only 3rd term, drinking garri at least 5 times a week, no helping of family members, cheap accomodations with rent at most 150k yearly, minding your business always make you no enter problem wey go make you spend, no drinking of beer and peppersoup, you fit manage sachet action bitter or Chelsea, no buying of drugs/Medicine, na agbo una go dey drink steady.

Unless you are already married, no single man should marry with 100k salary without a supportive wife unless you want stress to finish you.

My advice is for u to have a spare cash before u marry. If u don't,u will know why it is very important in ur marriage.

That would help to cushion the effect of "not enough" in ur home.

But they don't know that a discipline individual in that petty skill can build a house within 3 years of doing that petty skill and these skills come with a high degree of freedom that allow the individual to try his hands on other side business that will grow his bank account and this is something alot of white collar jobs cannot offer

a single source of income should not be enough to enter marriage whether you earn 1million or 50k because if you lose your job, the pressure will be enormous when you are married compared to when you were single

Now the best solution is to have atleast 3 source of income which each source providing atleast 25% of your annual income

Before you get married to a woman, first of all, get married to your hustle so that you and your hustle can produce children aka side hustle

You should earn at least 180k and above so that you can leave a comfortable life without much stress.

And in this 180k, try and manage so that you can only spend 80k and save 100k.

With that savings, you can be having around 1M yearly which will help you to purchase properties and make investment.

Else, you will just be living your life daily without any meaningful progress.

Getting marry is a blessing, but only if you met the right one, gone are the days were women are not working, the present day, women also goes to work, of which she will assist her husband on somethings, responsible on one alone, is just like a suicide mission, because many things have change, considering, the today economic, alot of this has changed, ranging from, school fees, house rent, feeding, health expenses, utility, shelter, toiletries and many more, all this are very essential in a family( irrespective of the seize) just imagine all this things for one person, it is not fair, but since it is our responsibility will have no choice, that is why as a man it is very imperative to marry an industrious women who is generous and supportive, unlike some men who goes for beauty, a good woman will always assist you, that is one of the reasons our parents marriage last longer, we should always beware of the women we chose to spent our life with.

The income threshold should not matter much if the couples are industrious, committed to the marriage, and genuinely loves and want to help each other grow. That's the true meaning behind the ´´For better for worse´¨ pledge.

For example, you can be a businessman earning 1M naira a month, and a life-changing event happened (eg war, accident, loss of revenue via govt regulations, etc). Should divorce now become the automatic consequence due to loss/reduction of funds?
