You should continue with your business while you make plans to go back to school. Like you said, the money you have once you register for school will not be enough to do any business again. What I will advise is that you continue with growing your business and defer going for HND for like a year.See how things turn out and decide if you can combine the two later. As for travelling out, shelve the idea for now.I really don't what jobs are in Dubai.I know the men do odd jobs mainly while the ladies are often escorts. You can travel out much later if that is what you really yearn for but I don't think that is your first option now. I commend your hardworking spirit as a lady and you not sewing men as a meal ticket. 1 Like |

Dunno how to advice people sha ... I only ask them salient questions ---what's waiting for you overseas? ----what's waiting for you at the end of your degree program? ----What's your biz giving you right now? And what do you see it giving 1 year from now? As for Husband, anyone can have that , ordinary morning jog, working at ur duty desk evening stroll anywhere in the world n u meet a guy(or girl Lols) u connect with n the rest is history . After answering the above questions, Advice yourself ... |

Confused977: I know a lot of poeple have given you good advice. You r a smark girl. Seek the Holy Spirit guidian. Dont go for HND. Go for BSc, any University will take you (direct entry) with your ND grade. Apply to a recorgnize University. Continue your business. Travelling abroad is good. Ladies could be more lucky, but i wont advise you to travel. Let the Holy spirit guide you. All the best. |

BiggyB242:It's totally not her fault, I blame the dichotomy of HND and Bsc on the part of Federal Government, assuming both holders take the same pay cheque home every month and the discrimination in Civil Service and the Private Sector is not pronounced, she wouldn't open her cavity to carpet HND holders the way she just did. 1 Like |

Firstly, let me commend ur strong drive for success, its highly motivating .many girls in ur situation will just settle and become slaves to men. My advice is that you weigh ur business and its level of growth in the school environment, since u started off in school and u made reasonable gain.my first suggestion is that u consider the possibility of going for HND and still keep up with ur business, if u can still manage ur time ,maybe expand a bit, I mean make more sales to put up with expenses then this will be the best option as u will end up killing two birds with one stone .As for not getting a job after school, my dear, that's the mindset of lazy minded people, u don't necessary have to work for anybody as a graduate. The step u took by selling stuffs to support your education is already preparing you into being your own boss. If you think the proceed of your business will not be enough to carter for ur HND wen u finally enroll and u don't have the capacity to expand, then I'll advice you just build ur business straight away and forget about HND for now,you can always go back to school anytime in the future. Lastly, take away the thoughts of travelling abroad for now, work on what you have at ha d now. u know what they say about a bird at hand ...... |

Confused977:I really don't advice people like that but I like to read people's stories and at least learn one or two things about life. I'm currently doing masters tho and one of my professors usually tell us that anything without money is shit and from what I know, I think u should focus more on growing ur biz and widening your range and soon you will be getting married, someone like me for example wants to marry someone that is well to do and independent as I cherish hard work even tho I believe with the money, I still have to spoil my wife so much. you sure will make it babe, God bless you |

raymondFirstborn:I checked him out, and guess what...he's a chartered accountant. Tell me how he became a group managing director of first bank with just a HND?. The dude probably did some courses either online or physical you know nothing of, and for him to be a chartered account means he did ICAN which gave him a playing field for his career path. 1 Like |

kimbraa:Which cap? Don't be myopic sis, by now you should know that Polytechnic and University education were set up for different purposes for the society. By structure, a Polytechnic student shouldn't even be looking for an employment in the first place if not that our structure in Nigeria is flawed. Just have to stop here with what you just typed below, smh. kimbraa:So you mean to tell me that assuming he had BSc, he won't still do ICAN or he won't probably continue with his education according to your analogy. Do you know getting an HND or Bsc is a means to an end and not the end itself, a Master or a PhD holder can as well look down on a Bsc holder you know, I rest my case. 5 Likes |

Confused977: Do you like the bag business you are into? If yes, continue doing that and saving up money to make it grow. Try to think big in the direction of your handbag business. I can tell you are a really good person and if you keep working hard doing the right thing and praying to God, i believe one day you will peak really high. |

dont8:You're telling me about being myopic but obviously you're the myopic one who can't see beyond his nose. No wonder when some people get polytechnic admission they jubilate like they were given admision into one of the IV League universities in Nigeria. Funny enough, you don't know a cap is placed on you. Do/did the children of your lecturers attend the same school as you do/did?. The answer is NO 'cause they know it's a waste of their precious time. |

Sweetheart I'll advice you go back for your HND and try to balance it with your business... If not go back on a part time basis. This school thing is just to fulfil all righteouness, u never know when u will need it. And travelling to Dubai is a no no, don't let someone deceive u into doing what you'll regret. Confused977: |

Please, just continue your biz and enrol for part time for your HND. Forget about traveling because you have something you are doing already. Build on your business and the sky will be your starting point in no time. Yes, I said this because my story was almost the same as yours though I still have my parents but they couldn't send us beyond secondary school. One of the best decisions I have made in my life is not going for full time at my undergraduate level. Doing full-time when you don't have a sponsor especially outside later is like going through hell fire. Long story short.. I did part-time at my undergraduate level, did my professional exams as well while I was running my own business. Money was not an issue. Today I have MSc from a university in UK fully sponsored by myself. Everything in life is all about time. Please, face your biz and forget about traveling for now. It's not greener outside these days traveling without a good plan. Enjoy!!! |
