I’ve seen and heard several things from Nigerian men about akatas. It’s usually that we’re good for sex only or if they’re in a relationship it comes down to them not having their stuff together enough to date Nigerian women. I was shown a video where several married to/dating said they were surprised at how attentive and loving we are to our mates. They believe it’s because so many of us grow up without fathers that we love having a man in our lives.

Why can’t you just admit your stereotypes about black American women was just WRONG! I believe it comes from growing up in a backward culture that believes because we aren’t circumcised or have virginity checks done on us we must be promiscuous.

Ok. So you’re being told this while growing up in Africa. I get it. (The funny thing is that at the same time in America black American women are viewed as the least promiscuous). But once you’re here and see how hardworking and loyal (often to men who don’t deserve it) we are, why continue to try to stereotype us even as you date us? I think some of it is the Nigerian stubborn pride. You MUST be culturally superior to akatas.

At what point will you find it okay to say: We had them all wrong?

You're missing the point.
IT has nothing to do with circumsision or any of that stuff.
Nobody even in Nigeria cares about that rubbish.

It comes down to these things:

- Respect. e.g A lot of AA think it's funny to call their men out their name. To the Nigerian, this is not funny.
- Understanding: From memories of home, to culture, to shared understanding of the pidgin language...there are some things a Nigerian can only enjoy with a fellow Nigerian.
- Future HOME plans. A lot of Nigerians fully intend on being able to back and forth to Nigeria. And some even have long term wishes of being able to move back permanently in the future as things get better. Having a Nigerian spouse with the same potential future wishes increases the chance of that wish becoming a reality.

I'll be the last person to judge others on hearsay and I don't agree that Black American women are promiscuous though they can be very loud & aggressive.
And Nigerian men are not as patient & self-controlling (especially with words) as the American guys; though they will so love the loyalty of the black American woman

I understand the word to simply mean the equivalent of black American. So why not?

Biden is the new POTUS, so far the judge is throwing out every false claim that sore loser lied about. Trump wants to keep the claims sealed from the public but the judge said no.

The police are savage toward minorities, so many of them are white nationalist aka( Ku Klux Klan, Proud Boys, Skin Heads, Neo Nazis). The police are the biggest terrorists gang in America.
