All PTDF Scholars who used the Lagos Consulate are yet to get a response. They were told that the person responsible is on leave.

The Embassy told them or Campus France said that? I was at the same event where the statement was made. What he said was that some of the VOs are on leave, that's why it's slow. It's not specifically PTDF scholars. Afterall, someone who submitted this August just got a pick up message last week and Many who submitted early of July have not gotten a response.

So I think its selective and not because someone in charge isn not available

Yes but even with scholarship, those that submitted their passport in vfs Lagos are yet to get it back. Some are getting to a month already.

You know someone who is a scholar and hasn't gotten his passport after 2weeks?
Some of my colleagues who submitted in lagos with scholarship have gotten a response.

For students that applied through Lagos Consulate, we have info and reason to believe that student visa applications are delayed because someone responsible for such visa is on leave and the consulate is working on getting a replacement. As odd as it may sound, it is true, so anyone who applied for a study visa in Lagos may have experienced some delays.

In Abuja, study visa applications are processed in one week.

Some people still got their Visas within 2 weeks especially those that have a scholarship.

Its neccessary, cant say if its compulsory. Your Motivation letter can be in form of your cover letter. Just write why you want to study this course and why france, what it will do for you and what you intend to do after your program.

@mrphysics, the OFII they are referring to is the former physical stamp on your passport which was the Residence Permit but it has now evolved to just online registration. All you need to do is register online, input your visa number and other details, pay the amount which will then validate your stay. Your D Visa Sticker is now the Residence Permit.

We were told by Campus France that the OFII is no longer applicable in France.

No. The process before now is that you would have filled out the Offi form and submitted at vfs. But they cancelled it for student Visa, you have to apply for that when you get to France within the first three month of your stay. Hope you understand.

The visa type is Type D, Multi entry, Sauf CTOM

Brother, a long stay Visa comes with Residence permit. You will pay 60euro within the first 3 months of your stay in France for Residence permit. It's called OFII.

You can travel through the schengen zone with that Visa after you have been stamped for Residence permit with OFii.
