Femotech123: Politician is not what he does. you could have mentioned that he’s the former deputy of … and that he’s currently… You don’t choose a school because it’s cheap, that should be the secondary reason not primary. You need to come up with a convincing reasons like funding, research coursework and all that. Go back and try again if you can. But draft out a better transcript that sells you as an ambitious student who knows what going to America for Political Spence means to him. You can only use sevis within one year, otherwise you pay a new one 4 Likes |

Moshkom: You could have mentioned me. It’s okay to help and you will find several other people who don’t find it helpful and talk about it. Afterall, I haven’t been a troll on your post. Just coming out to talk about one of your post does not mean I had an hateful stand about you. I have never quoted you nor comment on any of your helpful post. However, if you feel that way, I’m so sorry. That should not in anyway stop you from helping others if you are available. I was helped years ago when I came here too and from such posts, I picked what is necessary and what is not. But being helpful doesn’t mean we can’t be corrected nor questioned. 8 Likes |

Banji101: It’s very fine to have picked that date. Keep checking if you are going to see a new date that you would prefer. Otherwise, wait until it’s within 60 days of resumption to apply for emergency. The biggest and the most important for now is your interview. Keep practicing and putting things together towards your interview… GoodLuck to you. |

chrisdking1: lol. 1. It’s only normal that computers weigh as much as the get better. Moore’s law is playing a role. Decades ago, our phones could have been a big building in order to handle what the phones does today. The iPhone 13 has the fastest and the most compact chipset ever to be on a phone even during a period of scarcity of semiconductors 2. The FaceID is the fastest means to access any app on your phone. 10x better than a fingerprint. Every application available on Apple should be able to access it if they want to. 3. Alien to me 4. It’s not apple’s fault. Most of those apps will not pass Apple’s security verification. Android is Open source OS. Apple is vetted critically 5. The world has advanced beyond Xender. I have never shared anything with anyone for over 5 years. Well, I stream my music online, stream YouTube and download. Thanks to 1G/s frontier internet. 6. Sorry bro, in America where IPhone came from. We don’t need two SIms. If we need a second number, we can get that from google voice or text now. No one is going to pay phone bill for two SIMs. No advantage. For the last three. No one cares about your phone in the a working country, no one cares about your car except it’s truly luxurious. Everyone drives a car and everyone can afford any kind of phones they want.. Personally, I use iPhones because it’s easier to integrate with my macbook, Ubuntu and server and as a programmer, I haven’t used Windows OS for over 3 years. The railone or whatever he’s called is truly funny |

The way he reviewed that as the one sharing the visa is what I have problem with. It’s okay to review proposed or real transcripts but do not antagonize it like you are the one granting the Visa 1 Like 1 Share |

Ijchichi5190: Again what he did was not a review at all. If the person hadn’t gotten his/her visa already. He could have been demotivated by what you called a review. Review transcripts as a third party and not as the VO sharing the visa… Anyways, that person got the visa with the same review that said he could not have gotten it |

1stGenAmerican: Your loan is conditionally approved and not final before reporting to school. So if you choose not to continue with your loan, you have no obligation or responsibility. The pre approved loan automatically expires within a certain period of time. The second statement about visa is not true man. When you transfer to another school, you transfer your sevis from your current school. You can transfer as many times as you want to. All that matters is being enrolled in a school every semester for atleast 9credit hours as a graduate student. |

Honlucas: Yes you can easily get a fully funded PhD if you do well in your Masters. No you don’t have to leave the US anytime as long as you are in status(either a job after MSc or a PhD program). You do not need to renew your visa while in the US except you travel out of the US 4 Likes |

energixx: A top 100 USA school would have been my choice if I was in your shoes. That’s because I have a different dream than being a faculty or a top world researcher. America gives you more opportunities than being a professor. I can tell you boldly that years into your PhD, you will start getting interview invites from these companies even if you didn’t apply for a job. My experience is biased toward CS and EE degree so don’t hold me for this statement. If your dream is to become a renowned professor, please target top schools (ranking matters). If otherwise, America matters. 5 Likes |

Gokoyer1401: US mostly accepts graduates within the Us because there are more students in the US. I am a PhD student and I have seen several Out of country PhD getting a post doc. You mentioned issues with Language? If your publications are in English, there is no issue with language. Again, if he’s in the top 10 school in Germany and you cemented your place with publications, you will get Post doc in the US. Engineering post doc are everywhere though may be competitive. Btw, my advisor came from outside the US for a Post Doc which led to his appointment as a Professor. So yes, 3 years at a German top school is better than 5 years in a No name American school. 3 Likes |

energixx: It depends on what you want. Germany is equally a good country to get your PhD. However, there are more opportunities in the US. If you are not attending the top schools in Germany, you won’t be open to as much opportunities available in the US. Most of the prestigious engineering workshops and conferences happens in the USA and a degree from the USA is just bigger than what you will earn at any school in Germany that is ranked less than 300 in the world. Technically if your school is in the Top 10 in Germany, I will advise you go for that. Spend 3 years in school and a 2years post doc in the US will bring the same prestige as an American degree. If your American school is in the top 20 in America, ditch anything and go for that. Spend 4-5 years In school and start the faculty race if that’s your dream. Otherwise, you will have more companies (from FAANG to startups) calling to employ your expertise. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Nozino: Again. Nothing was proven. I have been on here for over 5 years and it’s not true on and outside nairaland. You don’t label things to be fact when the official website says otherwise and when you have limited experience. I had my WES in 2017, I had a different experience. I have equally seen a lot of people with different experiences other than what you called fact. So I don’t know where your fact is coming from. 3 Likes |

Nozino: Nothing was proven. Just a new user trying to throw bogus assertions. It is not General. Evaluation is course by course. It doesn’t happen to everyone, the calculator is an estimate and not official. It may reduce after official evaluation and sometimes increases. Your one experience doesn’t make it general |
