Politics › Re: Has Nairaland Changed I'pobs To Igbos?, It Sounds Funny by PressMyButton(op): 10:08pm On Jan 02, 2024
NL only censors abusive/derisive words. Why i'pobs?, i feel like it's an insult to igbos to have censored their identity.
Politics › Has Nairaland Changed I'pobs To Igbos?, It Sounds Funny by PressMyButton(op): 9:57pm On Jan 02, 2024
When has a group whereby more than half the population of igbos became unfit on social media?. Why has i'pob become vulgar or a foul word?.. Is that not an organization purportedly fighting for the freedom of igbos?. I'm pretty sure igbos themselves must have asked NL to censor the word, probably they feel insulted being referred to as i'pobs.
Nobody can censor OPC, it is an identity and Yoruba are so much proud of it.
Politics › Re: Rivers Crisis: ‘ehie Resigned For Peace’ – Fubara Speaks Amid Wike Rift by PressMyButton: 9:39pm On Jan 02, 2024
The enemies of Rivers lost yet again, they shouted, screamed and called for chaos but in the end, Fubara chose the path of common sense.
Politics › Re: Rivers State Government Recognizes Hon. Martin Chike Amaehwule As The Speaker by PressMyButton: 9:24pm On Jan 02, 2024
Common sense is finally prevaling, he knows how terribly he would end up if he's pushed by ipobs.

Modified; NL has changed I'pobs to igbos... Haa!
Politics › Re: 'Dangote, Port Harcourt Refineries Won’t Reduce Fuel Price’ – Rewane by PressMyButton: 9:15pm On Jan 02, 2024
Can this man just rest for once?. He was appointed a member of economic council in the last administration yet had no impact. The manner at which they tend to find their voice after leaving office is ridiculous.

Does that mean Rivers have no appropriation law for 2024?
It'd be re-presented to the house.
Politics › Re: Clerk Of Rivers Assembly Says Hon Edison Ehie Was Not Elected Speaker by PressMyButton: 5:56pm On Jan 02, 2024
vanitybutiwanti:
Nice one from the clerk, he was never speaker, he would have stayed back to explain to judges in the Appeal and Supreme court on how he became speaker, he knew his fate, that's why he hurriedly resigned
Ehie was an illegal speaker, Fubara knew that too which was why he compensated him with a new position. The clark has hit the final nail.

Akaegwu:
Lost battle. Go to court
The battle has already been won, Fubara has officialy recognized Amawhule as the Speaker. The news would very soon get to the media. The peace pact would be implemented fully.

You jumped in bed with Putin and shut your eyes on the genocide against the Ukranian people.
Is South Africa ever a serious country?
Politics › Re: Tinubu Hosts Sanwo-Olu, Ambode, GAC Members In Lagos by PressMyButton: 5:30pm On Jan 02, 2024
Asiwaju is a man with an uncommon grace. Men of timber and caliber, intelligent, savvy, well read, well travelled, well exposed, gravitate towards him, some left and come crawling back. A step higher than other godfathers, James Ibori, Peter Odili pay him homage. The title Ashiwaju is beffiting of the man regarded as a true African leader.
Politics › Re: Terrorists Take Over Several Communities In Niger State, Set Up Toll Gate by PressMyButton: 4:36pm On Jan 02, 2024
Niger state is the biggest state in Nigeria, it is three times the size of the whole SE, a LG is almost the size of Abia state. The terrain of the North is as complex as the creeks in the Nigerdelta. The size of the north with its porous borders makes it extremely difficult in comparison to the number of soldiers per sq km. I suggest a more robust grassroot synergy, a strong determination by both traditional and religious leaders in the fight against banditary. The defence HQ should also scale up the use of drones and advanced tech inorder to bridge any lapses. If you think the Army ain't doing enough, let's withdraw the troops for 48 hours and see if you'd sleep in your house talking trash behind your keyboard.
Politics › Re: Power Supply Fails To Improve 10 Years After Privatization by PressMyButton: 10:27am On Jan 02, 2024
Every person involved in the $16b mambilla power project must be rounded up starting with OBJ. Efcc has started off fairly inviting Agunloye to account but must end it well dragging OBJ into the net. Also, GEJ and Okonjo Iweala would have to cooperate with EFCC regarding the inefficiently privatized NEPA Under review.
Politics › Re: Rivers: Why Pro-fubara Speaker Resigned, Vacated Seat by PressMyButton:
Cantonese:
OP, as it stands, it is a constitutional matter. The issue is in court, with PDP insisting that the 27 seats have become vacant by reason of the decamping. Once again, note that the agreement was not in anyway binding on any of the parties.

By the constitution, it remains incontrovertible that the 27 resigned. Ehie acting in his then position as the speaker recognized by a court order. All actions taken by Ehie in his then capacity as the speaker, therefore, are termed legal.
Every action taken by Ehie remains illegal and unconstitutional. People seemed to have forotten the fact that Ehie with other three members have been suspended by the house of assembly. The injuction obtained through the judge who was purported to be a brother to the chief of staff to the Governor was a kangaroo injuction.
Politics › Re: Rivers Crisis: We Won, They Failed – Fubara Mocks Wike During Crossover by PressMyButton: 1:25pm On Jan 01, 2024
Olatunji1929:
if you think that fight is settled wait till Fubara win at supreme Court that's when you will know that Ojuyobo and wike have been fooled by Fubara, only a foolish person with no ambition will accept such useless peace deal
In your small mind, you think Fubura would be so stupid taking note from what you ignorant little kids are spewing on social media?. FYI, Fubara has gradually been implementing the peace pact, lastest is the factional speaker of 4 house members resigning. Fubara is not as foolish as online noise makers who have never in their lives contested for a position of a councilor, much less understand the dynamics of power.

Unfortunately, there's no one more responsible than Betty herself. Being a survivor of cancer, she should have known better how dangerous an illness her husband was going through, her primary duty was to the well being of her husband and not hold-tightism of power.

Politics › Re: Port Harcourt Refinery Still Test Running – NNPC by PressMyButton: 2:27am On Jan 01, 2024
Is test-running one big vocabulary too difficult to understand?. For the very first time in several decades we are test running our refinery yet you guys are not excited?, you need help.
Politics › Re: Port Harcourt Refinery Still Test Running – NNPC by PressMyButton: 2:26am On Jan 01, 2024
TopBanter:
Different scenario and intention entirely. PH refinery will work because a lot is riding on it.

If you love Nigeria and wish her to succeed then you will stop focusing obdurately on the delay alone and look at the bigger picture.
Is test running not part of rehabilitation process?. Is Dangote refinery not test running?. What is too difficult to understand in this little piece of information that these guys are screaming all over the thread?, what's wrong with these people?, have they gone back into last year to pick up the pieces of negativity from where they left it off?.

You people should sha come and apologize to us. Starting from Baba Obasanjo that you people abused who told you the truth that it can't work

Rubbish
Don't allow evil spirit follow you into the new year. This is a normal process after fixing the mechanical part, next is the test running. You don't expect to hit off production immediately without test running all the process. It is quite unfortunate that some so called educated folks can't put into good use their thinking faculties.
Politics › Re: BREAKING: Edison Ehie Resigns As Rivers Assembly Member. by PressMyButton: 10:28pm On Dec 31, 2023
He was the speaker of the 4 members. The other 3members would also be neutralised or swallowed up. Politics is not by making noise online.

Out cry from the locals? Lol Why are the locals crying loudly now?

I will ignore your insultive word for this last time.
Is there anywhere people won't feel aggrived when they are being neglected or cheated of their entitlements especially when such an audacity comes from a woman that was never voted for?. It seems you just want to fight and tear your shirt for someone just because you are being driven by sentiment yet lack proper understanding of the issues.

I can write an article about your dad, label him a notorious thief, rapist and drug dealer, submit it to one of these hungry print Media houses (Maybe Sahara) who feeds on propaganda, and I believe with this your shallow mentality, you will believe it.
You see why i earlier labelled you an ignoramus. You can't write jack about someone you don't know muchless someone not in the eye of the public. Betty was a first lady and was very notorious for her highhandedness. The state house was literally her control center, she places people of her choice in positions and slots as she pleases, regardless of the outcry of the locals, she lords it over everybody without giving a damn.

Obviously, you are not aware or remotely close to the politics of Ondo state. I haven't heard of a woman wielded so much control, not even Patience Jonathan.

Don't give me that bull crap please...

Why didn't y'all talk about her atrocities during her 37 years of marriage to your brother?

Why is it now that Aketi is no more you guys are now talking?

By the way, are you closer to Betty Akeredolu for you to know her “Atrocities”?
Then you're either being deliberately mischievous or proudly ignorant. If you followed up in the news on her stories, would probably have cured much of your ignorance.
Politics › Re: Akeredolu Was Weak In Matters Involving His Wife — Ex-Aide by PressMyButton: 8:46pm On Dec 31, 2023
Betty was overbearing, overreaching and overstepping. End of the day, she lost both the man and power. When she was down with cancer, Aketi stood by her, gave her the best treatment money can buy and gave you a second chance to life. When Aketi was down with cancer and it was your turn to reciprocate, you allowed greed take the better part of you, you kept him in secret, denied him proper care until it became a little too late. You failed a man that could still have been alive.
Politics › Re: Allegations Of Tribalism Against Me & Nairaland by PressMyButton: 7:44pm On Dec 31, 2023
Fair enough, fergie001 has been appointed to complement Mynd44. Funnily, fergie is as much inclined as Mynd, he's equally as expressive and has his leanings as well. Would fergie suddenly become mute on issues he would normally have aired his opinions?. I think it is unfair to put him in a box and expect to not have him speak his mind during certain discussion. I see his opinions as valuable and enriches the subject of discussion eventhough you might not always agree with him. It would therefore be foolish of anyone to blackmail fergie making his opinion much as Mynd is being constantly blackmailed. I can't imagine fergie running into his shell on issues he is versed for the fear of being attacked. Being a moderator should not deprive an individual the right of expression. Let's stop the blackmailing.
