bishopkay: I never believed in this government from the word go because I'm a good student of history and I knew from the beginning buhari had nothing to offer than massage the ego of the north over power returning to them and the south west over pushing out their enemy GEJ.
Now you brought the Igbos into the matter. Did I mention them? Also if you think it's just the Igbos, think again. Right now in this country, the average southerner especially SS SE hates the Fulani Hausa mainly because of the herdsmen menace and the handling by government. The average Christian is ready to take up arms against Muslims because of their excesses and the non chalant attitude of government towards it.
The Igbos or any body has a right to vote for their preferred candidates. Was it all Igbos that voted GEJ? Likewise it wasn't all yorubas and Hausas that voted Buhari.
So let's stop that rubbish talk of why did this party or group vote like this; this is a democracy and everyone has a right to choose their preferred candidate. I know igbos and their train of thought. Trust me it was destructive. While Lagosians were expecting a synergistic federal and state collaboration, only the igbos defiantly chose to work against that. No, we might choose to forgive, but we never forget. |

bishopkay: So if APC presented an unpopular candidate for guber, you expect people to vote him because he waves a broom abi? I have a lot of igbo friends and trust me their intention as at the election was simply a destructive plan to destroy the chances of an APC guber. |
Politics › Re: Democracy Day: Share Your Assessment After 2 Years by pressplay411(op): 5:39pm On May 29, 2017 |
Emekamex: I highly doubt that votes where blocked. Buhari is unpopular in the SE, as people view him as a tribal bigot who will favour only his people. This was the notion of most people and that led to the low votes in SE and not because of blocked votes.
The funny thing is that the notion people had about Buhari is continually being justified by the one-sided pattern of government by the present administration. Interesting, so how many igbos voted for APC at guber? Lets not beat around the bush, we're not hunters. |

Emekamex: I dont get you guys sometimes, what is the essence of democracy if everyone votes for one candidate for fear of marginalization?
Democracy is a freedom of expression and people should not be punished for exercising their voters right. They will never be unity in the country if politics continues to be a "do or die" affair. Freedom to vote. Not freedom to block vote. It was a concerted effort to unite against APC and Buhari, unfortunately it failed. But that's all in the past now. Lets focus on what's important, how best to secure the best for a United Nigeria. |

bishopkay: Ethnic bigotry has always been in the country but your master increased it astronomically by his 97 and 5 percent theory. Nigeria was divided across religious, partisan and tribal lines but he widened the gap.
On corruption you claimed The last admin bought out the judiciary...seriously can you hear yourself? The monies been recovered without owners you seriously believe those stage managed media brouhaha? What the average Nigerian doesn't know is anti corruption war is beyond running after thieves and jailing them. You are simply making them to think smarter.
Anti corruption is creating an environment that makes it difficult for people to steal. But has your god done that? Does he even have an idea about that?
About being a pdp supporter, I'm not.. .in fact f**k pdp. They are all the same but Buhari has failure engrained in his DNA. He breathes, baths and eats failure. If failure were a course Buhari would have a Nobel peace prize in it. I understand the lack of trust in govt. But I choose to give this administration benefit of the doubt. Besides the bigotry started when igbos chose to marginalize themselves further by deciding a block vote for GEJ. Who's fault is that? Let's not play the blame game. |

blackfase: Point of correction. There's nothing like democracy in Nigeria. Not even the caricature of it.
What we've always had is an oligarchy, government of evil, corrupt, selfish and utterly fiendish elements for the good of themselves and their acolytes. The more we continue to hope they'll change and give value for our little trust, the more evil they become and treat us as one in same vein.
Conclusion, is unless the docile, sleeping, aloof citizenry are prepared to confront these malevolent urchins that has practically and effectively laid our past, present and whatever future we have left bare, we can just continue to rant, vent and cuss on NL, LIB, metrogist and such other platforms like the bars, beer parlours and newspaper joints in our various hoods.
Summary; Nigeria still remains a zoo that's unfit for human purpose, will remain for a long long time until we all see fit to take mass action.
#imyorubanotipob (in case someone thinks these are the rants from an anti-apc element) That what we practise is anything but Democracy, you're right. But still you sound too pessimistic, which is not a good state to live in. Lets keep hope alive and eventually I believe we'll get it right. I'm a strong proponent of Military govt cos the problem of this country has indeed gone beyond Democratic solution. Even though military govt has failed in the past, it still commands some level of Call to Duty and zero tolerance for the indiscriminate malpractices of various arms of government especially the legislators. |

Forex is a fiasco, destroying so many businesses
Only the above failure has rendered all the achievements useless True. But you have to know it was still shadows of the last govt that created the forex fiasco. Stolen funds that's were continually converted to foreign currencies and buried in strategic locations viz graveyards, abandoned buildings, etc. So it isnt a problem of incompetence but a case of inherited corruption. To blame this govt solely for that would be unfair. |

bishopkay: From what I read I concluded you are an apc symphatizer. This is buhari government score card after 2years 1. Ethnic bigotry -excellent 2. Job creation-zero and if you call n power a job, can 30k cater for a fully grown man in Nigeria today? Also let them wait till the two years contract expires then they go back to the streets. 3. Killing of businesses, job losses -excellent 4. Corruption: on the issue of recovered monies, how many people have been prosecuted? Can they account for the recovered monies?
The middle class is gradually being eroded away from society by this clueless myopic government.
I haven't even began Talking about the visible division in the Nigerian polity And you must be a PDP avenger. Your assessment is so biased it's ticklish. Is APC responsible for ethnic bigotry? How do you rate job creation zero? You no get Fear of God? On corruption, what else do you expect when the erstwhile govt has bought out the judiciary? And you must be kidding if you deny that money's have been recovered. Agreed businesses have suffered especially due to the forex fiasco. This is where this govt must concentrate among other things as it has a domino's effect on the cost of living. In all fairness my assessment was more transparent and realistic than yours which is obviously tainted with bias. |

Happy Democracy Day!
It's been 2 years of the APC Buharii led government. Do they deserve kudos or knocks? Lets weigh their achievements along side their failures sectorally.
Reporting as observed in Lagos Achievements -Improvement in Electricity in recent times. -Improvement in Transportation. Road repairs and reconstruction is impressive. -Stable pump prices in recent times. -Payment of public servant salaries has been steady. -Impressive fight on Corruption evident in recovered stolen funds. Kudos to whistle blowing. -Security is commendable although improvement is still required. -Job opportunity created by N-Power is also commendable
Failures: -Forex is a fiasco, destroying so many businesses. -High cost of food items -High cost of running business -Healthcare system is still a mess, pray not to have an emergency. -Public education system is still an eyesore, with schools and students shutting down due to strike actions.
Rating the governance of this present APC led adminstration may be premature, it is still imperative to assess its performance. So far, they get an average. A lot of improvement is needed especially on the areas of Commerce and Agriculture, Education, Healthcare and Ease of Business. |

LesbianBoy: Why should i bow for another human being, so i can be seen as humble? Rubbish! When you put it in this context I see your point. But can you bow to a doorway so your head doesn't hit the roof? Nothing is special and everything is special it all depends on what you make it. Bowing here is a sign of respect and humility not worship. If you're complaining about bowing I can only imagine the look on ur face if asked to prostrate. Lol BTW I know an igbo girl who gave up her relationship just because she would never curtsey or kneel to the parents of her yoruba boyfriend. Prior to that, I didn't realize it was that serious. Lets just say Igbos have a different perspective of Humility and Pride. |

Christianity Etc › Christianity And Idolatry; Is Jesus God? by pressplay411(op): 11:55am On May 28, 2017*. Modified: 12:27pm On May 28, 2017 |
Christianity is shrouded in so much controversies. Only Christianity has sprouted millions of churches further divided in denominations all differing in doctrines and practices. Why so much diversification and denominations? It is selfish interests or simply the misinterpretation and misrepresentation of the bible? One of the greatest controversies about the Bible us the question, Is Jesus God? Some Bible scholars are convinced that not only is Jesus the Messiah prophesied but he is in fact God. To this effect graven images are cast to represent his physical appearance which are worshipped in churches.
The bible outrightlly teaches that God condemns any form of bowing or kneeling to a graven image. Now hanging pictures of Jesus, sculptures of Mary while praying, worshiping and bowing down before them, is that not idolatry?
Pastors will never teach this but rather focus on preaching miracles and prosperity. |

Testing your significant other is not wrong. But then some lines should never be crossed in the name of testing especially if the relationship is for the long haul. Fact is there's a lot of pretense in most relationships, we package to impress, turn up our strengths and play down our weaknesses. But this can only go on for so long until eventually you get tired and the true colors start to show. So, a little test here and there is not so bad. Test for the qualities most important to you. Test their temper, chivalry, respect, generosity, neatness and support and of course loyalty. |

avril9: It is good for people to go to church,it boosts our faith in God,Cos we sometimes tend to loose faith in people who we can see not to talk of who we can't see.... I tell people,of what use is going to church? Is cos u go there to worship n once u r out,tru out d rest of the week u forget God.... God shud b worshiped at anything time the spirit leads, God should be honored in our day to day lifes.... We shud practices on how to be christ like in our dealing with each other.... The truth is so many Christians dont know the things that excits God,a grateful heart filled with a mouthful of praises (done anywhere), absolute trust in him, etc...Pastors hv also help brainwash them or how else can they(Pastors) preach abt tithes n offerings more than they preach abt love, giving to the poor, moral uprightness....it will also u shock u that people hv different reasons y they go to church, some for hook ups, show off n the rest,Well to each his own. Well said. Morale of the story. It's not just going to church but knowing WHY you're going to church. Cos there's too much distraction even in churches today. |

As you can see, u are not conversant with scripture. From that scripture, This thread and conversation is not for you.
Adios Your assimilation is still in its formative state. So because of that portion of the Bible Jesus is God? Yet youre playing blind to the glaring portions where he's clearly and straightforwardly called the Son of God. The angels called him son of God, his disciples called him son of God, even he clearly and severally called himself the son of God! How more forthcoming and straightforward can it be? Yet it's you who's obviously read the Bible. But then reading and understanding are clearly subjects of mutually exclusivity. |
