@op, the vaccine that causes that rise in temperature is DPT vaccine. Its given in 3 doses at a month or so interval each with HBV. To prevent or minimize such rise is temperature, 3 or 4 days to the date of next hopital visit for immunization, start giving him paracetamol syrup drops (check leaflet for dosage). By the way, whoever gave the name “crawling“ to babies learning movement should please think again. My son “crawls“ so fast that i began to wonder if the word ‘crawling‘ had another meaning to it. Am a single mum to my baby and i am so loving being a mother. I give God glory that i didn‘t bow to pressure to abort him. |
When a baby is born, they still act like they are still in the womb, i mean active during the night and sleep during the day. My baby did exactly the same thing but i wasn‘t worried one bit because i already knew it would be like that. Like have been mentioned, palm wine and pap increases the production of brea.st milk. Sugar cane, pounded yam and tea beverage (milo/bournvita/ovaltine with lots of milk) does same thing. Pap, pounded yam or tea works better though. A brea.st feeding mum should avoid eating any food prepared with cocoa yam; am referring to the type used as soup thickner. It dries up brea.st milk. Months ago when i prepared bitter leaf soup and used cocoa yam as the thickner, my milk production ceased. I had to take lots of pap, tea, pounded yam with another soup before my milk started flowing again. Few weeks later, i prepared same soup, used same ingredients but used Achi as the thickner instead of cocoa yam. There was no problem with my milk production. About a baby sleeping on his stomach, well i prefer to err on the side of caution. I didnt lay my baby that way till he was 3months plus and with semi-strong neck cordination. When a baby (new born - 2months) sleeping on his stomach wants to change position of his head, in trying to rotate the neck to another direction, the face may get stuck facing downward, if the baby doesnt completely rotate the neck to the side he wants to, he may encounter breathing problems and well.........like i said i prefer to err on the side of caution. If you must lay your baby stomach down, make sure you check on him every few minutes and help turn the neck probably after an hour so he doesnt develop flat spots on one side of the head. About your baby sucking his toe, my son does that too. A friend that visited me said its a sign that he will eat lots of chicken leg (lol)......who doesnt love chicken leg?. Anyway there is no cause for alarm, its one of the weird things babies do that they can never give you reason for. |

unipol: why not do it in a more noble way. remove ur number and leave only your email, atleast only serious minded people will write you and your will acess them from the composition of their words. many men are jelous and you may look desparet posting ur number in a public forum. Thanks for the suggestion. Done. |

hannydarl: My daughter was rejecting spoon feeds too. So I realized that she would eat if. I finger fed. Her. I just startEd making home made food a bit thicker and finger feed her. She wasn't eating much but got the hang of it after a while. I also noticed she liked food the family eat I also gave her too.Eba and soup, mashed beans skin removed, mashed potatoes, mashed banana, avacado Pear. And I made sure to give everyday. Its very tasking and frustrating to have A Chilkd that would not eat. From my observation, exclusively brea.st fed babies find it difficult accepting the changes and i quite understand why. Even as difficult as i am finding it getting my son to eat solids, i am still going to exclusively brea.st feed his future siblings. |

A saying goes thus: any woman with womb can be pregnant but not all is fit to be a mother. There is more to being a mother. Its not just about getting pregnant. If she gets jail sentence, suits her right. |

Op don't be in a hurry to accuse your man for nothing else you will bring problems for yourself and marriage. He is probably not proud of his self and what has become of his latest performance so he secretly bought those boosters. Its better you politely let him know how you feel about your s£x life and the fact that you are not getting satisfaction from him, then listen to his own side and he may end up showing you the drugs. Be wise. |
@mumsluv, thanks. I do try to put whatever am eating into his mouth, you need to see he will squeeze his face till he swallows it and will never open his mouth again till i finish eating that food. Its all fun though and i know he will come around. |
edogram.:Na wah ooo! I have tried my best to decode what you mean but i just can't. The only word i understand there is the "lama" which means 'go'. |
hardleyC: Quite educative in here.Hahahahaha, yours do that too! My baby as little as he is when nursing either uses his free hand to hold up his leg just like a guy relaxing on a very comfy chair or rubs his hair gently and later he will start scratching and pulling his hair with his eyes semi closed. I used to wonder why he always did that until someone told me that its because he is enjoying his meal. Men! No wonder dem no de take eye see bobi. |
Well since you want to know what it is about the church that is making her not want to leave, go to religion section and either look for threads about cele churches or open a new thread on this same issue. You will get a lot of info there. Goodluck. |
edogram.:ele ali ke iwu? |
armyofone: ummm, let's talk about Ika foodOk. Maybe we should have a seperate thread for that. Starting from today any traditional Ika food or soup i make, i will take photos. I think you should do same. Any other suggestions you have, please share. |
@afam, bia nwoke ogini kwanu? |
Either she was careless at home and someone who has been monitoring her switched the cash with the papers at the point she was about leaving for the bank OR someone used jazz on her and the money. I have witnessed it before. Way back in Ekpoma while i was still schooling there, i was at the market square buying some stuffs from road side vendors when all of a sudden we started hearing screams and shouts coming from one of the provision shops and the some guys were beating hell out of one man in front of the market. What happened? The man who wore white agbada went to the provision shop to purchase goods worth #50k and paid with #500 denomination, not up to 2minutes after he left, the #500 notes changed to #5 notes. Fortunately for them they caught up with the man as the bike he boarded was about to zoom off. His saving grace was that the police station is very close to the market so the police men rescued him before he was beaten to death by the angry biz guys. This happened in my presence so i know that people do use jazz to do stuffs like this. |

@efemena, obasijoy, ebose, cotton101 amd akpunwa, please calm down and stop abusing each other. Efemena, you mearnt well by letting everyone including me know that force feeding a baby is dangerous only you presented your advice in an insultive way that is why ebose and Joy picked offence in your first post. I learnt something from that post, i know alot of ladies who have seen it it have also learnt a thing or two which they will pass on to their sisters and friends. There are ways that you can point out and correct someone's mistakes without hurting them or making them feel terrible. In this case, Ebose and Joy felt you were referring to them as bad mothers which they are not that is why they are angry. They can never intentionally hurt their children let alone kill them. @Joy and Ebose, please its ok with the e fights and e insults. Becozienu. Joy expect my call soon. |
@Ife, thanks for the tips. Hmmn, banana? I have urges to do this once in a while but i get scared. Scared that he may bite a large chunk with his gum, try to swallow it and that could lead to something else. If you plan to give your baby brea.st milk till your body stops producing milk, then prepare to brea.st feed till your baby till he is 6years or more cos for as long as you are nursing your baby and eating healthy, your body will continue to produce brea.st milk. From this experience i have had with my first baby, when i have the next baby, to prevent issues like this from repeating itself, when he is one month old i will start expressing milk into the bottle and let the baby nurse from the bottle while still giving him from my brea.st. This way, the baby will get used to the bottle on time. |
Thanks Chucky. Its not like am rushing into a relationship or want to. Its not a crime for me to have friends now, is it? The experience i had and the kind of maltreatments ex put me through is enough for me to hate men for the rest of my life but i choose not to because i know and believe that everyone is not bad. There are still some "normal", good, matured, responsible men out there who knows how to treat a woman well and who values marriage. I was desperate at 26years but now am 28yrs old, am no longer desperate. Thanks for your advice, you and the others have 'spoken' like a big brother and sister. I will be very careful. I won't loose my head. Experience is the best teacher. |
@ivy, thanks for that tip. We learn new things everyday. @eyu, yes we are talking about the same thing. |
Konnektions146: yu sound responsible, we could be friends and u could find friends here but u have to be careful cos u could be taken for a ride if not. Thanks for that honest talk. You and Joy do have a point. I will be very careful...... |
@Joy, how are you and your baby doing, hope you guys are great. You said you can help out with the procedure for processing soya beans. Please post it here or to my email. Thanks. |
@debowler, thank you. Am no longer worried since other mothers who exclusively breas.t feed their baby have experienced it and from this thread, i now know its a very normal occurence. |
Thank you Missy. |
ebose09: Yes we are talking about d same thing here but I make it myselfSugar ke! Since she is over a year you can give her honey but in little quantities. But if the child is less than 1 year, honey is a big no. Their milk already contains sugar so you don't have to sweeten the pap with honey again. But if you must add, please half a teaspoon should be ok. Please kindly post recipe and method of preparation for soya meal to this thread. I will love to make some for my little man. Thanks. On a lighter note, you de spoil your baby with sweet mouth o! Abeg take am easy. |

@Joy, am not thinking nor talking about sexual relationship. I will never go into that whilst still nursing. But a relationship starts from somewhere. It takes time to love, trust and count on someone. At least i have to start from somewhere. Besides i need someone to talk to, chat with. On why i put up this post here; my present location MAY not afford me opportunities to meet the kind of man i want. Not that there are no men here, i just don't want to have anything to do with them. |
Goodday all, please can a kind hearted fellow post the method of processing dawa to me? I know its more nutritious than corn pap but its not done in my area here. I can get the grains to buy in the market. Thanks. |
