A five year old boy identified as Destiny Azubuike, who was abducted from his parent’s residence in Rivers state on the 19th of December in 2016, has been found. According to reports, the abductor, Mrs Evelyn, an ex- mistress of the boy's neigbour identified as Dr Oberenwa - sold the boy for N500,000 to Mrs. Patricia Chukwu, a widow and staff of Ebonyi State Secondary School Management Board, who renamed the boy Samuel. It was gathered that police started trailing Mrs Evelyn after a tip off by someone who had seen a campaign on Facebook by a Social activist and citizen journalist, Comrade Phils decrying the state of child-kidnapping in Abia state. According to Wired Nigeria, the prime suspect was trailed to her ex-husband, who explained that they had divorced due to his suspicions that his ex wife had sold their biological child to a foster parent. He, however, offered to assist in the arrest Evelyn but was mauled to death by unknown assailants while returning from work weeks after offering to assist the police. An incident the police believe may not be unconnected to the investigation of Mrs Evelyn. Little Destiny was found on the 11th of December, 2018 in Ohaozara Local Government of Ebonyi State where he had been renamed Samuel by Mrs. Patricia Chukwu. Some suspected criminal elements identified as Eze Omorowa, Efosa Aighobahi and others have been arrested over their alleged crimes against the people of Iguomon community in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State. The Edo State police command had recently made a report about the suspects alleged to have been killing some residents along Benin bypass road, over a land dispute that has been resolved by the supreme court in favor of Iguomon community in 2006. The men believed to come from a community that lost at the supreme court – reportedly took up arms to allegedly attack and kill their rival villagers. The suspects have allegedly led several communal attacks against Iguomon people which have resulted to the death of over 3 persons and others sustaining injuries. Just recently, the suspects allegedly led a brutal attack against some villagers on the same land, which led to the death of a young man named Osatohanwen Omobude AKA Terry G. The police recovered the corpse of the deceased and swung into action to apprehend the perpetrators and are still on the trail of others. There was panic earlier today at 9th Mile area in Enugu state after a tanker carrying gas was involved in an accident and went up in flames. According to reports, the huge inferno caused serious commotion among the residents who struggled to clear some of properties including crates of beer as the fire raged on. An eyewitness identified as Felix Festus revealed that men of the state fire service came after two hours despite their office being closed to the scene. Here are pictures from the fire incident. A shop owner was left shocked after being swindled by two guys at the popular Emab plaza in Wuse 2 area of Abuja. It was gathered that suspected fraudsters who disguised as customers - came to a shop buy a Tecno phantom 8 of N110,000 and pretended that the cash was in their car so somebody should follow them to collect it. After the man followed them and counted the money (which was in N1000 notes), he gave them the phone. The 'customers' reportedly didn't bother with the receipt saying it wasn't necessary only for the man to return to the store to discover the bundle of 1000 naira notes has "changed" to 100 naira notes (watch the video below). The money had only two pieces of N1000 which were used to conceal the torn 100 naira notes.. This left the shop owner very shocked as to how the scammers did it. The All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leader in ward 8 Oyigbo local government area of Rivers state, has landed in a hospital after he was brutally attacked by unknown thugs. It was gathered that the victim identified as comrade Emeka Ihu was attacked on Saturday night while trying to prevent the miscreants from destroying the APC billboard of the House of Representatives candidate for Eleme /Tai /Oyigbo federal constituency, Hon Gift Okere. He was beaten mercilessly and also stabbed in the eye during the horrifying attack that left him injured. He was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he is currently being treated. A man was laid to rest in style on Saturday at his hometown in Mbabu, Konshisha local government area of Benue State. According to online sources, the man "refused to be buried in a coffin" as he was laid to rest with a bed and wrapper in a low-key funeral attended by family members and friends. Aoraan Festus took to Facebook to share pictures from the burial and wrote; “History was made today at Mbabu, Shangev-tiev in Konshisha local government area as late Ajingir Tsa goes home as he refused to be buried in a coffin.” This has left internet users confused as to how a dead person can 'reject a coffin' in his lifeless condition. Some believe that the deceased gave instruction not be buried in a coffin before his demise as others who claim to know the family also confirmed the news. Another jungle justice was meted out on some suspected robbers yesterday at Ariara intl. Market in Aba, Abia state. According to reports, three men were caught while trying to snatch a tricycle popularly known as Keke Napep from the driver. The angry mob descended on them with series of beating before setting them ablaze. This latest incident of mob action is coming weeks after two suspected thieves who specialised in snatching the money withdrawn by bank clients, were mobbed and set on fire. It was gathered that the duo were on their bike, waiting for their next victim in front of a bank at Abayi, Aba, Abia State. As soon as their target left the bank, the suspects swooped in and snatched the bag of money. However, they were nabbed while trying to escape and subsequently set ablaze alongside their operational bike. Report has it that a suspected internet fraudster popularly known as 'Yahoo Boy' caused a huge scene on Thursday in Sapele, Delta state. It was gathered that the Yahoo Boy stormed Winners Chapel along Ogizien Street, off MTN road in Okirighwre area - during the Shiloh programme yesterday to test his new charm. According to journalist Sapele Oghenek, the Yahoo Boy stormed the church with two white pigeons and decided to touch a young boy to check the effectiveness of the charm. An alarm was immediately raised after church members noticed what was going on as they alerted some vigilante members. When the young man was quizzed why he carried out such act, he allegedly confessed that he did a charm for money in Abraka where Delta State University (DELSU) is located and decided to test the charm on the small boy. A lady has taken to social media to reveal her displeasure with guys who take girls home and sleep off 'on time' for reasons best known to them. The young lady blasted and criticised those men who will doze off after only one round of sex because of work or what they have to do the next day. She revealed that she can not be in a man's house and he will sleep off by 12 am and leave her all by herself because he has something to do the following day. She said the man must wake up because he must finish what he started - else she will do something strong to him in his sleep. The lady also asked how one can call himself a man when he cannot make a woman happy for 24 hours. She said once a man invites a girl to the house, the sex issue definitely becomes till day break. A female singer identified as Kay Figo has ignited a social media firestorm with some revealing photos. The Zambian artiste whose real name is Cynthia Kayula Bwalya, shared the controversial half-unclad pictures which have been trending on different social media platforms for days now. Meanwhile, according to fresh reports, the Zambia Police Service says it will summon female musician Kay Figo to question her over her trending half unclad picture on social media. Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the police will question the local female artist and hear her side of the story over the disturbing picture. She also said that if the picture is a photoshop, the perpetrators will be brought to book. |
Nigeria's Air Peace scaled a major regulatory hurdle last week as it successfully performed emergency evacuation and ditching demonstrations as part of the safety tests for the operation of its Boeing 777. And they did it in style. According to travel blogger Dozie Uzo, once the signal to commence the exercise was given, the crew set out to work, deploying the four slides of the Boeing 777 within 10.5 seconds - 4.5 seconds ahead of the maximum time allowed. On the flight deck of the Boeing 777-300 were Capt Simon Donoghue, Capt Ndubisi Ekwempu, First Officer Femi Aderomu and First Officer Ahmed Abdullahi. There were 16 Flight Attendants including Nigerians; Mayowa Samuel Jnr and Ukonze Amarachi. With this in the bag, Air Peace is (almost) set for the commencement of international flights with the Boeing 777 to Dubai, Sharjah, London, Houston, Guangzhou, Mumbai and Johannesburg. It will be recalled that the airline took delivery of its first Boeing 777-200 on February 23, 2018. The new aircraft, a 320-seater Boeing 777-300 named “Ojochide” and marked 5N-BUU, was flown into the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos by Air Peace Chief Pilot, Capt. Reports have it that a Nigerian man identified as Ugochukwu has been arrested by officials in Malawi. It was gathered that the suspect was apprehended today after a 28-year-old Malawian woman alleged to be his lover was arrested on Tuesday at Kamuzu International Airport where she went to collect a bag containing cocaine. Police have identified the woman as Josephine Jumbe, a business lady based at Area 25 in Lilongwe. The bag containing cocaine belong to a Bolivian woman identified as Julia Cale Kentaholder. According to a police report, on 1st December, a holder of passport no 8837259 from Bolivia (South America) arrived in Malawi through Kamuzu International Airport but her luggage was left behind. “Then on Tuesday the luggage arrived and Jumbe went to KIA to collect on her behalf. That’s when she was caught at security checkpoint with bag containing illicit drugs suspected to be cocaine,” says the report. It adds that the Bolivian woman is believed to be in Mozambique. A man was severely dealt with after he was caught while allegedly stealing panties and other cloth items in Okpella town in Edo state. After he was nabbed, the angry mob descended on the suspect who was tied up and beaten mercilessly before he made some shocking confessions. The chairman of the area was notified of the situation and arrived the scene immediately. The suspect who reportedly hails from Auchi, Edo state - confessed that one Alhaji introduced him to a man nicknamed 'Correct' who told him to go and hustle panties in order to make some quick cash. He claimed that the said man was the person who dropped him off in that street to steal the cloth items before he was caught. He was sighted while trying to steal a boy's cloth. Residents of Okigwe, Imo state have been thrown into a sad state following the untimely demise of a motorcyclist otherwise known as Okada rider earlier today in the area. According to reports, the Okada man was trying to overtake the truck before he was crushed to death along with his motorcycle. The incident was said to have caused traffic gridlock in the area and the truck driver reportedly held by the villagers. Residents are making efforts to evacuate the corpse as at the time of filing this report. Three men have been arrested and are currently cooling their heels in police custody for allegedly killing their friend. According to reports, the three suspects connived and allegedly decided to their kill their friend in order to steal his Dangote truck. They were said to have been arrested by men of the Nigerian Police Force in Ore, Ondo state while fleeing with the stolen truck. The suspects are still undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court after investigation into the case is concluded. A young boy was apprehended while he was allegedly on his way for a dangerous mission. According to online reports, the boy who stays in Jesse town - was nabbed on his way to allegedly kill and behead someone for ritual purpose in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State. The boy was caught by 3 a.m on Monday (today) with a machete which he planned to use to butcher his prospective victim before his plan was foiled. The boy is currently in custody as investigation is underway. This is coming after ritual killers struck few days ago in Oghara, killing a 12-year old identified as Eguono. It was gathered that Eguono, whose killers severed her head from body and her vital parts harvested away, was killed around Okwemeva Junction, off Scot Road, an area that had witnessed a number of ritual murders in the last few weeks.
