The tourism experts who were arrested on orders of actress Ini Edo, received a rousing welcome at Akwa Ibom International Airport, earlier today. Mr. Joseph Utin and Ubong Ekpe, regained their freedom after they were arrested on Thursday night in Uyo and flown to Abuja on Friday due to a Petition by the Ini Edo, the Special Assistant to the Governor on tourism.

Ubong Ekpe and Joseph Utin were accused by Ini Edo of 'stealing' her idea of Ibom Fest, which was cancelled last year and also threatening her life. .The idea was said to have been used for the just concluded Orange September, (Akwa Ibom 30th anniversary celebration)...

In a petition to the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, Edo alleged that the duo sold the idea of Ibom Fest to the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and renamed it "Orange September" the official brand of the 30th anniversary of the State.

The actress is said to be angry that she wasn't carried along in this year's event.

The consultants however debunked her claims and described her petition as baseless. The duo have now been released after being dragged to Abuja.

At least about four people were killed in a fatal accident after their vehicle tumbled while traveling from Hadeja town in Jigawa state to Bauchi. Among the victims were two children and two adults who were said to have died on the spot.

The injured passengers were rushed to the hospital and the corpses of the deceased evacuated by motorists and passersby.

Despite being heavily criticized by a Muslim group after he dressed up as an Imam to join Muslims for prayers during last Sallah celebration in Ekiti, governor Ayodele Fayose was spotted with Muslim faithfuls during Jumaat prayers on Friday (yesterday).

As part of the activities line up for the celebration of 3years anniversary of Governor Ayodele Fayose in office, the governor today performed Jum'at service with Ekiti Muslim faithfuls.

Fayose who is a Christian governor, prayed along with others at the Central Mosque in Ado Ekiti state.

For inexplicable reasons, the governor shocked the world on the last Muslims celebration on September 1, 2017 when he appeared in full regalia, including a turban as an Imam, at the venue of the event in his state.

Apart from the controversy stoked by the costume, Fayose also used the ground to make some strong political statements that were condemned by the Muslims Rights Concern, MURIC, headed by Islamic scholar, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

A gallant Nigerian soldier identified as Adams Francis, has been killed after an ambush by Boko Haram elements in Borno state. The soldier was killed during a gun battle with Boko Haram terrorists as they tried to infiltrate a military outpost with improvised explosive vehicles and persons borne improvised explosive devices.

The soldiers successfully repelled the terrorists attack at their outpost from Yamteke axis of Gwoza Local Government, Borno State.

The brave troops also neutralised the terrorists, recovering several sophisticated weapons from the sect.

Several other Boko Haram terrorists were said to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

Female Soldier Killed In Port-Harcourt While Preparing For Her Birthday. Photos

It's a sad moment for the family of Salo Roseline Tamarabrakemi, who died yesterday in Rivers state. According to her friends and colleagues who are mourning her demise, the young lady died in a fatal accident involving a vehicle and the motorcycle she was on yesterday evening at Elele, Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital - just a day before her birthday (which is today). She was said to be going to the market to buy things in preparation for her birthday before her sudden death. May her soul rest in peace.

The soldier was really looking forward to her birthday judging from the last post she made on Facebook yesterday. It reads; Can't wait ooo, 2moro is d birthday of someone special & d one dat I don't joke wit. My very own..Hmmmm I see u'r anxious 2 know wu bt jst wait & c wu dat special person could b.

A boy named Aminu, who lived in Tukura neighborhood in Kontagora, Niger State, had his fingers chopped off after he was suspected of being kidnapped. According to reports, the incident took place at Kontagora's main stadium as the hoodlums descended on the young man - cutting three of his fingers in the process.

Governors from the South-east and South-south geopolitical zones converged in Owerri, the Imo State capital, in continuation of their inter-regional integration initiatives. The governors held Night Vigil in at the state government house in Owerri.

The meeting, which is the third since their coming together, included the host governor, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Udom Emmanuel, (Akwa lbom), Ben Ayade (Cross River) and Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa).

Others are Chief Willy Obiano (Anambra), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi) and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia.

This is so sad. Here's a burial poster of a couple who are said to be buried to together in Imo state after their sudden deaths. The late couple identified as Enyinnaya Anyanwuocha, 43, and Chidinma Anyanwuocha, 40, gave up the ghost on July 31 and August 28, 2017 (one month apart)- leaving their family and friends in sorrow.

The couple are set to be laid to rest later this month in Ihitte/Uboma local government area of Imo state.

A man identified as Odili Victor - has revealed how he was almost set up by a young man in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital. According to him, he parked his car in front of a school at Elelenwo road in Port Harcourt, only to notice the suspect trying to force the doors open.

After the suspect was caught, he was seen with packaged marijuana which he tried to plant in the man's car. According to Victor, he's yet to understand the motive behind the whole act as some believe the suspect was trying to implicate with law enforcement agents.

Friends please I have an advice for each and everyone of us,,,my experience today at elelenwo road ,,,whenever you park your car and you are not inside make sure you look the doors properly,,,,, today I parked my car in front of the boys school ,,,to talk with a friend suddenly I saw somebody who was trying to force the doors open ,,,when we got hold of him he was holding a big rap of marijuana,,(Igbo) that he wanted to put inside my car but God disappointed him,,,,,,,I thank God for his mercy upon me today. It can happen to anybody friends please be security conscious.

A Facebook user identified as Daniel Igoche, has raised an alarm after meeting a little girl with the symptom of the dreaded Monkeypox virus in Kaduna state. According to him, the little girl has only been treated with traditional roots and herbs due to financial constraint. The young man is calling on the Kaduna state authorities to look into the matter before it gets worse.

Twelves persons have been reportedly quarantined in Bayelsa state after the first case of suspected monkeypox infection was reported a few days ago. The virus later spread to the neighbouring state of Rivers.

Nigerians are required to always wash their hands, avoid monkeys, bush meats, and dead animals as well as be on the lookout for symptoms which often manifests as various stages of rash and an intense weakness of the body, severe pains, among other things.

Samples from suspected victims in Bayelsa and Rivers have been sent to the World Health Organisation, WHO, laboratory in Dakar, Senegal for confirmation.
