A 30 year old woman identified as one Ukoro Onyinye of Ugbodogwu Trans Ekulu in Enugu Coalcity East Local Government Area of Enugu state have been confirmed dead on 28/7/17 over her alleged intake of concotion prepared with goat heart which was to assist her to detect and arrest thief who has been stealing from her shop at Ugbodogwu.

Investigations have commenced into the alleged unfortunate incident with the arrest of suspect identified as one Adekunle Oseni that allegedly prepared the herbal concotion with goat heart and who is now helping the operatives in their full scale investigations.

It was however gathered that the deceased had allegedly contacted suspect having been directed by one of their male Nieighbours in the neighbourhood identified as one Alesinloye Nuru who gave out Oseni's contact to the now deceased.

It was further gathered on 2/7/17, the deceased allegedly contacted suspect and after revealing her intention, suspect allegedly prepared a concotion which was said to have been made with other items and goat heart which according to suspect, will enable her detect and arrest any thief/thieves in her shop which the deceased later took and in the early hours of 28/7/17, she allegedly started vomitting and was rushed to colliery hospital in Enugu where she was confirmed dead.

The deceased body have been deposited in the Hospital mortuary for Autopsy while suspect is helping in the investigations.

She didn't anticipate her day which started nicely would end like this. While slaying on her birthday, this lady passed out after she was filmed drinking a bottle of hot drink during a car ride to mark her special day. In a trending video footage which has gone viral online, the lady was seen sleeping hard on the ground after getting very drunk as her friends who filmed her - laughed at her and made fun of the situation.

The six kidnapped students of the Lagos Model School, Igbonla, Epe have been released after spending 64 days in captivity. They were rescued from Aboto creek, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo state , at about 3.30pm. Their release as gathered was effected by the Lagos and Ondo states government and the Nigeria Police.

The students, Pelumi Philips, Farouq Yusuf, Isiaq Rahmon, Adebayo George Judah Agbausi and Peter Jonah were abducted from their school and when the kidnappers established contact with the parents, a ransom of N400m was demanded but this was later reduced to N100m owing to the inability of the parents to meet up with the demand.

It was gathered that due to the personal intervention of Governor Akeredolu, the six students who were kidnapped some two months ago by persons suspected to be Niger Delta militants have been rescued alive and are now in Ondo state territory.

A heavy traffic gridlock was experienced today after some Muslims blocked a Federal Road at Ejule, Kogi State for their Jumma prayers. Peter Agba Kalu, a journalist who was on duty, shared the photo and wrote; They blocked the Federal Road at Ejule, Kogi State for their Friday prayers. This is Sharia Nigeria not One Nigeria.

The road was eventually cleared after they concluded their prayers.

Nigerian talented medical scientist and visual artist, Haneefah Adam who is known for using food items to create visually appealing work - is back again with another thrilling art work. The 25-year-old lady drew a portrait of Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote for his 60th birthday some months ago.

Not fewer than 15 people have been killed in separate attacks by suspected Boko Haram insurgents. Vigilante sources said many civilians were still missing following an incident which occurred at Jekete village in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State about 10am yesterday when some farmers were shot dead on their farmlands, while six women were among missing farmers.

Local vigilante sources disclosed that the farmers tried to escape but they were overpowered by the dozens of insurgents.

Handling the interest on her looks and dealing with the distractions.

It is amusing sometimes but instead of distracting me, it has always spurred me on because I believe it is my doggedness on the job that brought about the interest not beauty as some people allege after all I am not the only pretty officer or even the prettiest. As a PPRO, my forte lies in influencing positive comments about the police on social media.

Her reason for joining the police force

Having the interest of people at heart. My joining the Police was solely out of passion, as I had other job offers. Police job is service to humanity, and I want to make my contribution to my fatherland in that regard.

Life as a female police officer

Hmmmmm! It has been wonderful. I really enjoy this job and it has been my motivation to weather the storms of life though I will tell you it has not been easy since the profession is more of a man's world. It hasn't stopped me one bit and being a PPRO hasn't in any way changed my outlook on life but has given me opportunity to have better dealings with people. Today, I believe I am a better police officer than I was yesterday.

A car went up in flames yesterday evening on a highway at Ilubirin area of Lagos. The driver of the vehicle who immediately jumped out after noticing the flames - was joined by passersby and other road users as they tried to put out the fire.

It was an unmemorable encounter for two Nigerian boys who went out on Saturday for grazing in Borno state but ended up meeting some Boko Haram terrorists. A ten-year-old Fulani boy herding cattle was killed while his 8 years old younger brother sustained injuries in an explosion from a suicide bomb belt forcefully strapped around the elder’s body by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.

According to reports, the tragic incident started at about 10 o’clock in the morning on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno, when 10-year old Gambo Bukar and 8-year Umar Bukar, from Jere Local Government Area, went out for grazing in Baram and Tamsongamdu villages in Mafa Local Government Area also in Borno state.

The insurgents caught them and forcefully strapped a suicide bomb belt on the elderly kid with a warning that it must not be removed until they got back home.

They returned home at about 4 o’clock in the evening but failed to disclose their encounter with the terrorists.

“In the process of unstrapping the vest, the IED exploded killing Gambo Bukar alone, while Umar Bukar sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Scene was visited and the area rendered safe by police EOD team. Normalcy has since been restored to the area,” PRNigeria said.
