Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel on Thursday visited Super Eagles training as Nigeria prepare to host the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio stadium Uyo on Friday evening.

The governor urged the players to do their best to secure three points in the Group B World Cup qualifier clash against Cameroon.

He also pledged a sum of $10,000 to the Super Eagles for every goal they score against Cameroon.

On Friday evening, Nigeria will take on the Indomitable Lions, as they continue their quest to be at next year’s World Cup in Russia. The match is due for kick off by 5:00pm....

Governor Udom has also redeemed the $30,000 he promised the team, for the three goals they scored against Algeria in their first 2018 World Cup qualifier.

A dog was left in lament yesterday after it got stuck while attempting to jump over a gate. The dog had attempted to jump over the deck but its leg got caught on a grill cover and it couldn't free itself. After spending minutes screaming while its partner looked on, the dog was rescued and freed to its delight. See photos below;

Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and his son Oluwaseni Saraki have arrived Saudi Arabia to join the millions of Muslim faithful gathered in the holy land for this year's hajj. According to media reports, the Senate President will spend the period of the pilgrimage to pray for the unity, stability and development of Nigeria as well as better health for the leader of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senate President is expected back early September when the Hajj rites would have been completed by pilgrims.

A Nigerian man was beaten up and disgraced after he was caught red-handed eating feces while doing the new Yahoo plus. The guy identified as Junior Clement who claimed to come from Warri in Delta state - revealed during his interrogation that he was instructed by native doctor to eat feces after which anything he tells his client will happen without delay.

The man also revealed that the first one he did - didn't work as he's planning to bill another foreign client $55,000 (over N20 million).

He also disclosed that they were about four boys that visited the native doctor for the 'juju' and that the others have "made it"...

Omoruyi Loco Efe, the son to the late veteran Nollywood actor and comic, Sam Loco, has nothing but good words and praises for this young Fulani herdsman who helped him after his car got stuck in a mud on Sunday, August 27th. According to him, he rewarded the Fulani guy very handsomely and even promised to buy a cow from him for his wedding next month.

The young Sam Loco said that he shared this online to show Nigerians that not all Fulani herdsmen are bad as there are some with good hearts.

The little Nigerian boy, Oyintari Michael Joseph whose manh00d was chopped off by his step grandfather in Bayelsa state during circumcision - has returned from India after being sent back home. According to reports, the Indian doctors say the boy is too young to undergo the special surgery.

Mrs. Ebiere Adeh, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs who led baby Oyintari and his mother, Nudora Joseph in the medical trip as mandated by the Bayelsa First Lady, Rachael Dickson through the Commissioner for Women Affairs told Isedirikonghen Ebi. Alhaji in her office that the specialists in the Indrapastha Apollo hospital, New Delhi, India after physical examination of baby Oyintari, recommended that he must attain puberty to be able to perform penile enlargement surgery on him.

However, upon their return to Yenagoa, baby Oyintari developed some health concerns and was admitted in a government hospital but is currently discharged.

Meanwhile, the Women Affairs Ministry has asked baby Oyintari and his parents to go back to their home town, Ondewari community, a remote village in Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State, where the ugly incident happened since the surgery couldn't be performed anytime soon. Noting that, it will submit its report on the issue to the First Lady as soon as she returned to the State from her vacation, and her feedback will be communicated to them.

A residential building collapsed this morning at Ilufe Road, near Alaba International market in Ojo area of Lagos. According to reports, many lives were saved in the incident which caused panic among residents. Emergency officials who are already on ground in the area - have sealed the building.

Meanwhile, The Lagos State Government has disclosed that it had started demolishing 57 buildings that were classified distressed and derelict as a measure to stem the rate of building collapse across the state. Of the 57 buildings already marked for demolition, at least 34 were located on Lagos Island, thereby warning against developing buildings without complying with standard rules.

On Saturday, 26/08/2017 following a sustained monitoring by IGP Special Tactical Squad attached to Niger State Police Command two notorious ritualists were arrested in possession of human head of one Hassan Abubakar “m” of Bakajeba Paiko L.G.A .

The suspects Abdulrasheed Aminu “m” 22yrs old of Lupa and Ismaila Mohammed “m” 27 old of makera all confessed that they cut off the head with use two sharped knife and one of the suspect Ibrahim surname yet unknown of Paiko L.G.A still at large.

The father of the victim one Abubakar Shuaib said that his son was last seen on Saturday 26/08/2017 taking a kettle of water from the house to give an unknown person waiting outside and since then he was nowhere to be found, until he heard that Police arrested suspects with human head and he identified the victim as his son. Case under investigation.

Remember the little Nigerian boy who went missing and left his parents devastated while on vacation at the Basilica in the Vatican City, in Rome, Italy, the young boy was blessed recently by Catholic leader; Pope Francis at the Vatican.

National Helm reported that the young boy went missing and was reunited with his family after being found by a female Vatican Secret Police - to the joy of his parents and siblings.

His father, Theodore Okwu Ejike Ekechi, who shared the pictures, wrote;

According to reports coming in from Owerri, Imo state capital, there was a gun battle this morning following the demolition of popular Eke-Ukwu market. The incident reportedly happened following the massive deployment of soldiers around the market since yesterday evening. The elders, youths, women and traders of the Owerri Nchise, who claimed that the market is their ancestral market are stoutly resisting Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha led bulldozers.

A young boy is said to have been shot dead by the demolition squad, according to reports.

It will be recalled that the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has been in a protracted move to relocate the market from Douglas road to a different location of the city. The governor has presented his case citing the traffic problems constituted by trading activities on the strategic "Douglas road" as one of his reasons.

Owerri indigenes have argued that the market is part of their traditional heritage which should not be tampered with but rather be upgraded with today's shopping mall facilities.

Guess the rodents will not have a place to invade again. Work has begun in earnest at the presidential villa in Abuja following the return of president Muhammadu Buhari. It was reported that the president will work from home after rodents damaged his official office during a more than 100-day overseas medical absence.

According to the president's media adviser Garba Shehu, the animals damaged furniture and air conditioning fittings in the president’s official Abuja office while he was in London receiving treatment.

Now, work has begun in major parts at the Aso Rock Villa.

A man was arrested while attempting to use a lady for ritual at Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state. The man reportedly stabbed the lady multiple times on her body before she escaped and ran for her dear life. According to reports, after the lady fled, she mobilized a group of youths who stormed a bush in the area where the man was apprehended after several hours of search.

He was finally arrested and taken in handcuffs by security operatives.

There was chaos earlier today at Egbeda, Alimosho area of Lagos State following a brawl between some area boys and commercial motorcycle operators, aka Okada in Egbeda market. The violent clash reportedly left at least one-person dead and several injured.

According to a report by Bounce News, the fight broke out when the Okada rider accidentally hit an Area boy . The area boy was said to have slapped the Okada man.

The Okada man was said to have returned the favour by slapping back. This angered all the area boys in the area who started attacking every Okada man they saw around.

In a reprisal, all the Okada riders within the area quickly mobilized against the area boys and a fight broke out.

Armed with stones and other dangerous weapons, it was free for all and everyone scampered to safety.

The only dead victim of the fracas was said to have received a fatal blow to his head when a stone was thrown.

Commercial activities have been grounded in the troubled spot as police have ordered all tricycle riders, also known as Keke Marwa, Okadas and commercial buses operating within the area, to vacate for their own safety.

The Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Usman Jibril, has given reason why the Federal Government preferred to entrust the remaining snakes, millipedes and spiders which were impounded at Calabar ports more than three weeks ago to the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment, University of Uyo.

He said they found out that it was the university that had some of the very few snakes’ experts in the country.

Jibril said that they would like the experts to regenerate the rare snakes whose venom was sought after and highly priced in the international market.

He spoke in Calabar at the premises of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in the presence of officials of the Nigerian Customs Service which had impounded the wildlife that was imported by unknown persons who are presently at large.
