According to an online report, a young man collapsed in the middle of Yaradua expressway Abuja yesterday afternoon. The unidentified man was taken to Garki Hospital in the FCT by the Police and well meaning Nigerians. His photo was shared online in a bid to locate his family or relatives.

A car was seen submerged in flood after hours of heavy rainfall this morning in Ugbowo in Benin city, Edo state. The vehicle was reportedly abandoned by the driver who got stuck in the massive flood which ravaged the area. Other properties in the area have also been reported to be affected by the flood - which have made the region a no-go area.

The Cross River State Police Command have recovered more than 12 car batteries from the apartment of some notorious criminals in Calabar, a move that was fostered due to the increase number of stealing on a daily basis. The criminals were paraded alongside the tools they use in carrying out their mischievous act.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today took delivery of the first batch of 5 out of 10 Super Mushshak aircraft being expected from Pakistan. The first batch of the trainer aircraft, which is for the primary flying training of NAF pilots at 401 Flying Training School, Kaduna, was received on arrival by the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Chris Okoye.

It would be recalled that the NAF inducted the Super Mushshak aircraft into the NAF inventory on 5 December 2016. This followed the kind gesture of the Pakistan Government to temporarily make 4 Super Mushshak aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force available to the NAF, at no cost, to immediately commence the training of NAF pilots. Since then, the in-house training of NAF pilots had resumed in earnest.

With the arrival of the first batch of the NAF's trainer aircraft, the local training of NAF student pilots will receive a boost at a much reduced cost. The new aircraft will soon be inducted into service after assembly and successful test flights.

The effort of the Commissioner of Police Imo State, CP Chris O. Ezike to cobweb the state against the perpetrators of crime and criminality has continued to record tremendous results. In an effort and determination to sustain the achievements so far recorded in combating crime and criminality in the state, operatives of the command Scorpion Squad while on routine patrol along Egbeada Ubomiri road in Mbaitoli L.G.A on 20/06/2017, received a tip off that a three man gang of armed robbers operating with tricycle and a Q-link motorcycle dispossessed a victim of her phones and other valuables on gun point.

In a swift response, the operatives gave the hoodlums a hot chase which led to the arrest of the above named suspects.

Suspects are responsible for early morning robberies of female jugglers’ handbags, phones and other valuables around Owerri and environs using tricycles (keke) and motorcycles. Exhibits recovered from the suspects include:
i) One (1) Look alike gun
ii) One (1) Tricycle
iii) One (1) Q-Link motorcycle and
iv) One (1) Samsung J7 phone

Suspects are cooperating with investigation and will soon be charged to court according.

133 suspects were today arrested in Ikorodu and its suburbs as Lagos State Police Command in a concerted effort with RRS, DSS, LSNC, OPC, Onyabo and Local Vigilantes combed criminals hideouts in a renewed efforts to stamp out criminal activities in Ikorodu and its environs.

The three prong operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police - Operations, DCP Imohinmi Elgal.

Also supporting him were Commander, RRS, ACP Olatunji Disu and ACP - Ops, ACP Biodun Olamutu, DPOs in Ikorodu amongst other senior police officers.

At least 16 people have been killed and 20 others injured when suicide bombers attacked villages on the outskirts of Maiduguri last night, eyewitnesses said.According to reports, four suicide bombers stormed Polo and Molai general areas in Jere local government area of Borno State killing 12 civilians and wounding about 20 others around 10 pm.

Residents of Molai Kaliyari village, revealed that two female bombers attacked Civilian JTF post killing 11 members of the security outfit.

Chairman CJTF at Molai Kaliyari village Gambo Bukar also confirmed that 12 civilian JTF were killed and seven are currently receiving treatment at State Specialist Hospital.

A journalist with Enradio, Mr. Orunsolu Mutiin, is filled with thanks after escaping from an auto accident unhurt when an articulated vehicle crushed into his car yesterday, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Obanikoro bus stop on Ikorodu Road, Lagos.

According to (NAN), Mutiin was alone in his company’s Nissan Primera car with registration number LND 352 DS when the accident occurred during the early morning rush hour as workers headed to their places of work.

The accident held up traffic on the highway for almost two hours until traffic officials were able to move the vehicles off the road.

Mutiin, in shock spoke with NAN at the scene, saying the accident occurred at 7.30 a.m as he was on the Lagos Island-bound side of the highway.

“As I was approaching Obanikoro Bus Stop, there was a slight traffic. Suddenly, I felt an impact on my car and I saw the articulated truck behind me crushing my car.In the process, my car hit the two vehicles in front and I was pushed toward the culvert. I thank God that I am alive, even though my car was badly damaged,” he said.

The two other vehicles involved in the accident were a KIA saloon car and a smaller truck.

A man identified as Mr Sampson was gruesomely killed at Meza Filling Station along Calabar-Ugep-Ikom Highway in Ugep, Cross River state. According to reports, Mr Sampson, the manager of the Filling Station - was attacked by unknown hoodlums with machetes and axes as his body had cuts.

It has been established before filing this report that Mr Sampson is the manager of Meza filling station.

His body was found as early as 5am by farmers who were going to farm along the ITM Ugep farm roads.

A man killed a poisonous snake which attacked him at night with bare hand. According to him, he was about to sleep before encountering the reptile which he 'crushed and smashed' to death with the aid of some people. Read his words below;

Just 50 mins ago , as i was about to sleep on my bed , a poisonous snake run into my bed and bite me. But by His grace i was able to hold its neck smarch it on the floor & with the help of some of the guys around We are able to over power it , we killed it.

What my enemy fail to understand is that God will always be in me & i will always be in Him...enemies has failed again...

Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Sunday conducted some rites at Nnamdi Kanu’s residence in Isiama Afaraukwu , Umuahia, capital of Abia state where they claimed to have spiritually broken the chains reportedly holding the freedom of the Biafran people.

Kanu’s wife, Uchechi Okwu-Kanu who headed the practice stood in for her husband as the IPOB leader was supposedly not available.
