Sadly, this category of leadership has been raped, bastardized and rendered useless by the state governments. To effectively harness the potentials of traditional rulers or local authorities in crime fighting, laws have to be redefined, responsibilities have to be given, funds have to be allocated and powers have to be separated or clearly defined.

By so doing, traditional rulers would take ownership of security challenges within their domains. It isn’t too hard for one to mobilize and dislodge criminals observed around your territory. However, you must have the backings of government. You must have the funds to Command followership. You must have an enabling law. Ur role has to be defined.

Govt now needs to woo them to take ownership of their domains. This of course would come with a price

The 2019 general elections have come and gone but the outcome of the exercise has continued to trouble some desperate political gladiators who had envisaged victory for their parties, friends, allies or godfathers. These elements who had demonstrated false sense of popularity before the elections, and perhaps had prepared for appointments as well as political settlement of their various ongoing corruption cases are the ones still aggrieved; refusing to move forward and attempting to destabilize the country with their misguided utterances.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode leads this category of deranged, desperate and frustrated category of politicians. Months preceding the elections, Fani-Kayode, bolstered by the false social media monetarily-induced statistics had warned that the PDP would 'Venezuela President Buhari' if he fails to relinquish power. Months after his party, the PDP failed to win the elections, he is calling on his party to learn the 'art of opposition' from Venezuela and Sudan.

Why is Fani-Kayode not referring his party to the United States this time? When the Government appears to have failed in the eyes of opposition or trample the rule of law they refer us to the US embassy and United Nations. In fact when good examples are being discussed, you hear countries like UK, Canada, US, China and so on being listed. Why is Fani-Kayode and his party preferring the Venezuelan and Sudanese version of opposition now.

In case Fani-Kayode has forgotten, these two examples of his are suffering deep political upheaval, culminating in the death of hundreds of lives, and destruction of livelihoods and properties worth billions of Dollars. Would Fani-Kayode bring his children to the street for protest? Would he also recommend that security operatives treat the protesters as they are being treated in Venezuela and Sudan?
It must be noted that the situation in the referenced countries are world apart. Buhari came into power in 2015 following a resonating victory that was even widely accepted by the opposition. In a bid to consolidate his gains, he lawfully sought for reelection, campaigned across the states, and was eventually declared winner of the poll.

Being a constitutional democracy, elements aggrieved with the outcome of the poll had since approached the court seeking to upturn the results. The process is ongoing unhindered. Why then should an individual seek unnecessary bloodbath or crisis?

Security agencies must as a matter of urgency monitor the activity of this desperate warlord in the making. People like this can easily be recruited by foreign hostile elements to further their heinous agenda in the country. No country survives a civil war twice. Post elections eras are usually for healings and Unity. The interest of the country must be put above all interests. It is heartwarming that the President is seeking an all inclusive Next level. Nigerians must beware of war mongers that would activate their visas after causing national insecurity.

Court had since ordered INEC to allow petitioners inspect election materials. That is ongoing. No one is hiding anything.

I am compelled to confess the truth on whether Alhaji Abubakar Atiku really won the 2019 General Elections or not. I have been a strong and active member of our great party- the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with passion for peace, stability and development of Nigeria. I want to state unequivocally that, Atiku lost the last 2019 Presidential election in favor of President Muhammadu Buhari.

For those who are old enough please recall that, since the return to democracy in 1999, our party (PDP) retained most of its elective positions (without apology) through rigging and imposition. For the sake of historical analysis, lets ponder over the election results of 2003, 2011, 2015 and 2019. Without the influence of the power of incumbency, Buhari was able to garner the following results.

We shamelessly allocated only 2,637,848 votes to Atiku. However, because Buhari believes in decent politics, in 2019, our candidate had level playing ground leading to his score of 11,262,978 votes.

Despite being the incumbent president, Buhari's vote dropped by 233,006 against his 2015 votes while Atiku's votes when compared to his last election in 2007 just got jacked-up by 8,625,130. This is evident that the election was substantially, credible.

Having said this, I urged all sensible persons who have the interest of this country to have a second thought by viewing elections beyond parochial and primordial sentiments.

A clearly misleading Twitter handle on the bio page of Babatunde Fashola, Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Works and Housing, has remained undetected for nearly 10 months checks by Vigil360 has revealed.

The handle @FMPWHng, appears on the bio page of Fashola officially verified Twitter handle, @tundefashola.

The bio reads:

Honourable Minister of @FMPWHng;
Former Lagos State Governor.
Tweets from the Honourable Minister are signed -BRF.

However, a check on the handle shows it belongs to an Indonesian freelance model, Siva Aprilia Real, who includes UK-based soft-porn magazine, FHM, in her bio.

The model also runs her trade at Jakarta’s Smooth Club & KTV where she is billed for a ladies party this Friday which promises free Smirnoff Vodka for 4 ladies.

The handle ostensibly sought to reflect the official Twitter account of Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, @FMPWH.

The embarrassment is quite unlikely of the former Lagos Governor reputed to have deployed millions of naira in developing social media and ICT structures in his years as governor.

The embarrassment is worse on desktop view, with the avatar of the cleavage-baring model appearing just besides that of Fashola with a baby lifted on to his right arm

The Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing also referenced the embarrassing handle in a tweet on February 19 while reporting Fashola’s tour of South-South highway projects.

Fashola also retweeted his Ministry’s error.

Today, the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari and the Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita were seen hugging themselves before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting currently ongoing at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
