Ten thing I have learnt from you guys on how to generate money/run the economy better.
1) run an inclusive government to get more oil production unless he is willing to commit genocide the SE/SS will frustate attempt to increase oil production- restructure Nigeria, attend to the needs of Niger Delta- Superpanther, PaulIdo, employ competent people instead of family members

2) Reducing the electricity tariffs cos increasing tariff and removing subsidy has increased operational cost- PaulIdu, Obailala

3) Focus on increasing electricity, just a suggestion- ( I am wondering, can’t the President approach Germany or a suitable country, we want to power Nigeria via Solar, can it be done in 3 years and we will pay it back, I mean people who use the electricity will pay them back like say 30 years, it is divided into small amount like a direct debit, it will be done as loan to Nigeria and we pay back as we use it, but arranged by our government and paid for by the people [I don’t like foreigners but I think they have expertise and the finances if anyone has the expertise in Africa and the money in Africa either start doing it or approach our government, put down the money and we will pay you back- just for diversity over reliance on gas to supply electricity is just plain stupid in 21st century, I welcome alternatives on this too)- as we waste too much money alternatives such as Gen and fuel for Gen and reduces fuel consumption so that remaining fuel is for cars only- ep12, 4wrd9a

4) Reduce all salaries to 100-150k, I am thinking is this not too small? as some people need incentive to work for government, but I agree when the national minimum wage is 18,000 and some people are earning extortionate amount, a reduction from the presidency down to the senate and a debate on whether it is cost effective to have two chambers of legislature. Reduce the number of executive aides as well.

5) Lower interest rate for small business owners at 1%- especially in agriculture sector- omozu1, 4wrd 9a

6) Can't we raise money the same way we raise money to build library, invite the 1000 richest people in Nigeria to Aso Rock(televised we know how much they all gave), they have their names on project completed with their money (Road, Rail, Any infrastructure) But I could see how this could lead to more corruption but this is an idea anyway.

7) Reduce the amount of travel and jamborees around the world, nobody will care about Nigeria if we become Venezuela so stop all this gallivanting around.

9) If the government is involved in oil exporation as a source of generating income, why are they not involved in agriculture or are the Ipob boys attacking the tractors too, can’t federal government do farming to generate income?

10) Can we have a quarterly breakdown of how money is spent by the FG, SG, and LGA? On NTA and local news channel. We should be able to follow the money like the swiss want, a monitoring group to see how every money is spent also. A sister body to efcc. If money is stolen, gather evidence before arresting, instead of arresting before gathering evidence. Are there websites to allow us to follow how our money is being spent from LGA to FG? we need more transparency.

I have really enjoyed hearing points from both sides. And most people here are not partisan I think, they just want the best for the country. I have read some interesting ideas here on how to make the economy better but I know everything works perfectly in theory even communism. If you have great ideas on how to run to economy better, if you can suggest ideas, we can collate the best ideas get some signatures to send it to the economic team or maybe a newspaper could print it for us or maybe someone can tweet it to this guys on twitter, because in power sometimes people can't see things objectively, some of them are busy chasing money or believe me some of you guys are smarter than them. I will just like to say a point. We need an inclusive government where everyone feels part of Nigeria. I feel bad that some people feel alienated because our greatest strength is in our diversity. Together Everyone Achieves More. (TEAM) I am not that smart. Just here to learn from you guys. Thanks to everyone who is contributing to a better Nigeria. We welcome more ideas on how to run the economy better, criticism are good but constructive criticism are better.
