We are riddled with useless system of govt. U see this Nigeria, it will not work o. Buhari will complete 8 years and it will still look like usual. Nothing different. Another person will come and go and nothing will change until we sit down and tell our selves the truth. The truth is forced marriage can't work. Nigerians don't like them selves politically. Politically, we can't live together. The highest beneficiary of this useless system are the political class and business frontiers who gain from politicians. The leaders know this. Nigeria is full of ethnic domination syndrome. It can't work o. For instance, a certain region will have potentials for certain things but the govt will never give the region the needed infrastructure to excel because of fear of domination.

Also, nigeria practice politics of bitterness and cold war between south west and South east, and North vs south. This can never allow any meaningful development in any country. Nigeria uses federal character and quota system which undermines merit. This can never allow best brains to work in our country. Everything about Nigeria is all about ethnic consideration. Very useless country. If we don't weaken the central govt and allow nations to form their own govt with a central army, we will not grow. In fact, nigeria may become more useless.. For instance, our population is already a problem. Unfortunately, one region feels birth control is bad for their religion and politics. So they give birth any how and cause insecurity for the rest of the country. We now use our scarce resources to fight insecurity in that region. Money we could have used to build quality stadiums and improve our local league which will create more jobs for Nigerians.

Also, a country that lies with her population. In nigeria, population is seen as a tool to get more federal allocation, and rig elections. There is this competition to dominate the central govt instead of competition among states to develop, we compete to dominate central govt. All these can't bring development.. Sadly, the masses don't know anything.. Whatever their leaders tell them, they will do. So, forget it, nigerians will continue to migrate as long as they have refused to team up and wrestle to change the current system of govt. No body won die.

Yea, african leaders need to wake up to their responsibilities. Africans die a lot at the Mediterranean sea due to poor leadership. If the current poor leadership across many african countries are not addressed, migration will continue to happen and it will surely cause issues.

I'm not Nigerian, but your questions seem to lack logic. You seem to not appreciate the fact that this man in question is/was not an ordinary Nigerian. HE WAS THE CHIEF JUSTICE. THE OVERLORD OF THE SUPREME COURT. THE CUSTODIAN OF NIGERIAN LAWS AND CONSTITUTION. He was THE FATHER of the legal system. He swore oaths, on many occasions, to protect Nigerian laws.
Even if it wasn't illegal for him to work for any foreign establishment, it's still wrong on so many levels, and the company knew it, and he knew that as well. So many countries of the world are more business friendly than China but China maintains it second largest economy in the world. Number one reason for that is their population...

Having said that, the argument was premised on who needs who more between Nigeria and South Africa. Not who is more business friendly.

And I have explained like every right thinking persons here that South Africa needs Nigeria more than we need them. For simple reasons of them having more of their billion dollars businesses here in Nigeria unlike Nigeria that has almost no major business in SA.

Check out the images I uploaded so far. SA has countries where they make much of their income and they can't try this shit with them. There was a document I read, I just couldn't find it. Nigeria was among the very least countries SA considers as a strategic business partner due to earning derived from Nigerian market compared to other markets where they make money. From the SA govt actions, u will notice that they are willing to let go of the little percentage they get from Nigeria. Their companies have over 90% Nigerian staff and have done several machinery investments. There are agreements entered before they could do those investments.

I also want u to check the last image about foreign direct investment. Investors are heading to SA and it will continue to be so until Nigeria's crises and poor purchasing power is worked on. I asked u a simple question, how many Nigerians earn over 3 million per year? How many Nigerians can afford new items? This is the reason black market is popular here. It is same reason second hand used items are popular. The purchasing power is weak. Canada has small population but there is a reason the economy keep growing and for those of us into online business, there is a reason ad to those countries are higher. It is purchasing power. We have poor purchasing power in Nigeria coupled with endless crises.

With those three factors Nigeria has more leverage over South Africa...

Largest economy means more international businesses will have more presence in Nigeria than South africa. Which gives Nigeria more ability to influence those businesses and their home governments over an issue between Nigeria and South Africa.

Largest oil reserve in Africa means Nigeria still has a very important bargaining power than South Africa in the international Arena. As a member of Opec, Nigeria would be taken more seriously internationally as whatever action an Opec member takes affects the price of Oil all over the world. This makes Nigeria more important than South Africa in Africa.

Largest Population means more market for any product. Whatever the western nations produce has more market in Nigeria's 200 million population then a smaller 40 million South African population. China for instance will listen to Nigeria first in Africa before any nation. Compare the amount Nigerians spend in importing goods all over the world with how much South Africa spend doing same. Businesses simply take consumers with more purchasing power more seriously.


There are other areas but with these three major aspects, Nigeria still comfortably calls the shot in Africa...
