Like I said, northerner shine wella in govt backed program. The founder of UBA had to create a special fund raising programme for northerners when the organisers of the general programme realised that the northern youths couldn't compete with their southern counterparts.

Yes, it is like that becus we dont know how to hold our leaders accountable. U may not understand what Im saying. Our governors can hide becus they know that all eyes are on the central govt.

Any society where her citizens can hold govt accountable cant progress. Our local govt chairmen, governors, etc will always tell u that it is the fault of the central govt, as a result, citizens pay attention to central govt.

But with a better system of govt, attention will be shifted to the regional govt. We can then collectively hold leaders accountable.

So, it is expected of our leaders in the entire south to push for conditions that will give the regions in the south the needed space to grow. This unitary federalism will not give the southern Nigerian such opportunity. Okay, so, if the entire southern Nigeria can stand up for this push, push for true federalism, push for regional based govt, or push for separate nations, the north will not be able to stand firm. That is my point, okay. It is sad to see that west do not buy these ideas and dont believe in pushing it. This action makes it hard for any other region within southern Nigeria to achieve this push.

The constitution was manipulated bro. The state and local govt numbers caused it and there was no love among southern leaders. Like I said, southern leaders are greedy and didn't care so much about the growth and potentiality in southern Nigeria. And southern Nigeria became divided due to the high number of Muslims in western part of Nigeria. That move to convert many westerners into Islam really paid the northern political elites. This caused division among southerners and their loyalty became divided. The division in the South is why northern elites take advantage of. Up till today, that division is still there.

The civil war presented us the perfect time to quit but we failed as southern Nigerians again becus there was division in the south yet again. So southern as it stands feeds the entire country not just through natural resources but also thru human resources and human resources remains the biggest of them all.

Look at how much the war in the north is costing us as a nation. It's pathetic. I completely blame the southern leaders..

My dear, I no longer worry my self about northerners. They simply find it hard to survive outside govt agencies. If u take a look at our private sectors, if u take a look at the startups with massive potentials, if u take a look at companies built from nothing to something, u will hardly see any Mohamed this, Yusuf that, simply put, u will struggle to find a northerner there or behind it. U will mainly hear Yoruba and igbo names and south south south names. Same thing on competitions, especially educational competitions, u will mainly see Yoruba, igbos and south south names making waves. Once in while, u may see northern name, rarely o.

But when u go to govt agencies, u begin to hear Mohamed, Yusuf, Abdul, etc. U got my point? U begin to see northerner Muslim names. How often do u see them win educational competitions? Look at nollywood and our music industry, yorubas, igbos and South South people helped to make the industry what it is today.

Northern region simply survives mainly on govt positions which they get mainly based on tribal sentiments from the various northern leaders who have led this country. The other day, there was a post about some of Nigeria's finest startups, there was none by any northerners.
A-side natural resources, southern Nigeria has human resources that is well tapped.

That is why I get so hurt when I see how igbos and yorubas fight and the north keep taking advantage of it.

A-side known govt ministries, go to top govt agencies, na northerner names u go see heading the place. I was at a FG agency the other time, around last year, a particular section was filled with people from the north and the head of thay section also from the north. Some of these guys working with him from the north couldnt even write well or speak well.


Southern Nigeria would have become the centre of Africa's development if our southern politicians weren't greedy and selfish. The southern politicians only care about their selfish interest that is why they can't challenge northerner leaders. Southerners are like slaves working for northern Nigeria.. What u just discovered is how it is dear. These people see government positions as birth rights. I sincerely give it to southern citizens for creating things out of nothing for themselves.
Look at education, entertainments, science, Arts, startups, tech, commerce, etc, southerners are the ones creating something out of nothing. I just wish yorubas and igbos can stop their cold war and work together. The two are really great nations.

If you want a world class hostel....PAY world class fees.

Fees for unviersity in Nigeria are below $300 per annum. Because we are 'poor'. Well, sports fans, the above is what you can get for just $300 or less.

If you want modern hostels, pay DECENT fees. Decent fees means that the university would have the means to keep the hostels well maintained...including getting the kind of grass cutting equipment that would keep the bush low.

But the thing is in Nigeria, we seem to think that if we catch all the corrupt leaders, and take their money, we will live like they do in the USA. That's partly true...but the truth also is we are not earning enough cash.

As an example, Canada spends $60billion on primary education alone. Nigeria meanwhile has $2bn or less for just education. But somehow in Nigeria...we expect $60BN something for just $2Billion (Like me walking into SLOT and demanding that they sell me that Nokia or Samsung Galaxy note for N5000 ).

Yes, we have to fight corruption. Yes we have to get rid of all them politcians. Yes, Bubu, GEJ etc must go...but let's face reality...good educaiton COSTS MONEY....and it is either we pay higher fees, or take loans to make up the difference. You won't want to take loans.

Nigeria can only achieve that if the purchasing power can be good. And it is the duty of the govt to improve the purchasing power of her citizens so they can pay for expensive services.

Nigeria has the money but we mostly use our money to pay mainly politicians.

When it comes to intelligence gathering, give it to the police. They have some of the best brains there.

I can never forget one operation police HD command jn Ibadan went for one time like that. It involved mainly mopol and state CID. Very coded operation inside a deep forest.

They came out successfully. The mopol came back and were happy. I heard they have been tracking those guys for two years. Mopol carried along for the operation were more than 50. Heavily armed, along with team from state CID. The operation was carried out in the midnight. There were heavy gun fires that midnight. I know a guy who was part of the operation. They submitted their mobile phones at the head office before moving to avoid distractions from family members because it was a deadly mission that involved high profile robbers.
The rubbish NPF are mainly those at local police stations, traffic section, band section, etc. The operational active ones Mopol, the CID ones, IGP unit, etc are doing a great job.
