And why is Obafemi Martins always on the bench? |
Nigerians are their own worst enemies. Why were the Nigerians screaming and happy when coach Largerback brought him in the game. |
omar22:They won by a 2 goal margin. |
The way Kanu shot that ball he should be playing with Mercy Akide on the Super Falcons team |
that HAruna is everywhere, man! Is he the only guy in the game? |
wetin dey happen? Why dem stop game? |
KnowAll:A lot of Lagosians and Nigerians understandably act like starved refugees, for they are overly excited at the mere sight of food, even if it is just a paltry quantity. In other words since prior leaders for so long have deprived Nigerians of good governance, the standard by which Nigerians now evaluate their leaders is now that of prior leaders, and therefore anything better than the past is now"excellent." That being said, Fashola is now worshiped because his administration is better than that of the prior governors, even though he is just doing that which he is elected to do, which is to serve the people. I am not downplaying Fashola's achievements, but my point is that we should not overly compliment him without criticizing him where necessary, to the extent that Fashola himself gets complacent and may think his victory in the next gubernatorial election is all but certain; we may also be overlooking other candidates who may have the talent to perform better than him. |
Ebonyeyes:Other women will also call her a ho and call the guy a player who has game, so it has nothing to do with men. Women can at least try to stop the stereotype and name-calling by embracing other women who give it up on the first date, and by refraining from calling these women hos. |
Poster, you may be having problems with Yoruba girls if you are good looking, have an attractive physique, or have a look that will not instantly indicate you are a Yoruba boy. That kind of look intimidates Yoruba girls. If you look like a Mukaila or are unattractive or look like you are from a village in, for example, Ondo State, they will flock over you. Some of them may not even talk to you because you look "American" from the outset. When I say look "American" I don't mean you dress like those run down Akata dudes and all that, I just mean you look attractive, even if you are properly dressed in a business casual or corporate attire. Your best bet is to find exposed Yoruba girls, like Yoruba girls who grew up under privileged backgrounds and are exposed and classy, which is difficult to find abroad. This is because it is usually the village Yoruba girls or house girls who receive visa to come and stay abroad, so any dude who has an aura of international appeal intimidates them. You may also be lucky with Yoruba girls who just traveled abroad for school, because their parents are most likely wealthy and they raised the girls in an exposed environment, so the girls will be able to gel with exposed dudes. But beware of those Yoruba girls whose only opportunity to travel out of Nigeria was by way of a visa lottery or they went to some "Mushin Olosa" secondary school. |
12large:I think mosquitoes have sucked all the blood out of your brain, and it has incapacitated your reasoning ability. No one is disputing that Ideye Brown plays as a striker, but my point is that he is versatile and can play both as a defensive and attacking midfielder if the need be.When he played in Sweden, he played as an attacking midfielder numerous times and still managed to bag 10 goals. We already have too many decent strikers, but it is likely that Largerback called him ahead of Victor Anichebe because of his versatillty and his goal-scoring instinct, something Mikel lacks. I am not a Mikel worshiper like you simply because he plays for Chelsea FC. |
~Sauron~:I said Al Qaeda or a political motive. You answered your own question yourself, fool. You said "the motive behind [the crime] is as important as the crime itself." So according to you, if his motive is to strike fear into the hearts of others by killing innocent people, then he has committed an act of terror and is therefore a terrorist. He does not have any political motive, for he may have his own selfish motive such as I was picked on as a child. The armed robbers who kill in Nigeria are also terrorists, if their only purpose for killing is to strike fear in the hearts of innocent people so they can steal from them and other people who are more likely to easily yield to the demands of these armed robbers. At that point, the armed robber is committing more than a criminal act, because he can commit armed robbery without killing. But if the armed robber is killing a group of people for the sole purpose of striking fear into others, then the armed robber is committing an act of terror. In this case, Derrick killed them for killing sake, which supports the argument that he did it to strike fear in someone's hearts. |
According to this slowpoke called Sauron, unless Derrick claims allegiance to Al Qaeda or demonstrates overtly some political motive, he has not committed terrorism, even though he killed twelve people and injured others, which is a clear and palpable act which most likely was intended to strike fear in the minds of others or was for self-serving purposes. |
~Sauron~:You have shown you are a fool, and you have clearly shown you are unintelligent. You don't even know the difference between percent and number. Idiot. You have probably never set foot in a higher education institution in your life. The research was conducted by the Pew Research Center for People and the Press, a reputable think tank. So what facts do you want to me to show you? You want me to come to the U.K. and count every Muslim? You could not even engage in an intellectual discourse without getting personal, which is typical of dumb arses like you who want to appear intelligent. |
~Sauron~:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Muslim_population In the U.S., the Muslim population is 0.8% of the total population; in the U.K., it is 2.7% of the total population (which is more than 3 percentage fold more than the U.S.). Also consider, the land mass of the U.S. is bigger than that of the U.K., so Muslims in U.K. are in much more close proximity than Muslims in the U.S., which is conducive for spreading extreme views. ~Sauron~:It does not affect the price of fish, but it shows how you reason! |
~Sauron~:It does not affect the price of fish, but it shows how you reason! |
~Sauron~:Think before you talk. I said UK has more percentage of muslims with respect to its population Busy_body:Based on your response, you probably did well in school, especially on multiple choice exams because you read and analyzed the entire statement before picking your answer. You said it is a daft statement to make, however. When you have a higher percentage of Muslims in an area, especially a smaller area like UK, it is easier to militarize other Muslims and easier to spread extremist views. In the U.S., Muslims are widely spread, and you rarely see any mosques around. The Muslim community in the U.S. is not as close knit as that of the U.K. Many U.K. schools have Muslim organizations, such as the one Mutallab joined. You cannot say the same for the U.S. ~Sauron~:Based on your response, you are one of those people who have failed exams not because they did not know the answer, but because they picked the wrong answer (the attractive answer) after reading the first sentence, and before reading the entire paragraph. Get your ish right. |
Other people may disagree with me, but I have always thought (and I still do Mikel ) that Mikel is "extremely" overrated. Admittedly, he is a quality midfielder, but he is too passive in the midfield area, although he makes up for it somewhat with his ball distribution prowess. Mikel rarely scores, which I think is a problem, and he is not a natural attacking midfielder but a defensive midfielder. Amodu played him as an attacking midfielder (which was a big problem), while Chelsea played him as a defensive midfielder (which made more sense since I believe he is a natural defensive midfielder). Ideye Brown, on the other hand, is very aggressive and can score. He can play both as a defensive and a attacking midfielder, and he is another reliable scoring option if Martins, Yakubu, and our other strikers are thinking about ashewos on the field. He is aggressive and come and play as a striker if we are down and need to equalize or in desperate need of goals. I think Ideye is a better option. Yes-- I said it. |
Mamagee, I actually think it's the reverse. I believe UK has more terrorists than America because UK has more percentage of Muslims with respect to its population, which makes it easier to spread extreme Islamic teachings. Mutallab, Richard Reid, among many other terrorists, were all militarized in the UK. |
Thick Nigerian celebrities are OK, and the fat ones are nasty. To the uninformed, there is a huge difference between thick and fat, for thick girls, even though not skinny, have fat that is distributed in the right places (y'all know the right places). Fat girls usually have a disproportionate aggregation of fat in their stomach areas, in their shoulders, and in their upper body, which is disgusting, or they just have too much of everything. I can post pictures explaining the difference for those fat ones who need further clarification. If you are fat, then it is better to hit the gym and slim up, because it is better to shapelessly skinny than shapelessly fat. |
This is a silly move by the government. How can you pay N15,000 a month to unemployed graduates when the government has no record of Nigerian citizens or graduates themselves? I bet you that there will be more ghost applicants than real ones, and the first thing the government can do is to fix the electricity problem which will invariably reduce substantially the number of unemployed graduates in the country. The second thing the government needs to do is to create a database that will house the biographical information of Nigerian citizens. The government is engaging crackpot realism; in other words, putting the cart in front of the horse. |
solofrapel:Ekaabo! |
REALITY101:Your mentality is the reason Nigeria is the way it is |
REALITY101:You are a fool, and you are an Angel of Death. Because you are hearing it for the first time does not mean it is not becoming a problem. A fool like you will not know anything unless it is an epidemic. Which side's story are we to believe? Chineke God, can you intervene oooooooooooo! |
I am sorry poster for the disappointment, but you should thank God that at least he ended the relationship prior to the wedding rather than during the wedding, during which time he probably would not have been fully vested in the wedding since he would not have entered into the wedding with love right from its inception. May the good Lord grant you the strength to withstand any suicidal pressures. Please don't kill yourself for that coward. Since, by not dealing with you with candor in that he did not inform you of his desire not to marry you, and by waiting to call of the wedding at the eleventh hour, he showed that he was spineless and a coward. God bless you. |
udezue:The way you sound you are one of those people who probably whose parents took advantage of the system when they gave birth to you, or one of those people who has traveled abroad to give birth with the intent of not paying. This is a forum in which people opine about various topics that interest them. I have every right to comment on it, and you can screw yourself if you have a problem about it. I never said they should reject patients in labor, but rather that people should at least make reasonable efforts to save and pay for their medical bills. If they can plan their visa and ticket buying to coincide with their delivery time, then maybe it cannot be an unreasonable burden for them to include paying for their medical bills in their plans. If what I say bothers you so much, you probably are one of those uncivilized people who sees no wrong in taking advantage of a system that is built on trust. And I see no difference between 419 and coming to the U.S. with the intent of accumulating medical bills repeatedly without paying for it. Same thing. You don't see a difference, so that makes you like the other millions of Nigerians who have abused the system and every other system built on trust, and it has given us a bad name. Idiot. Get the phuck outta here. Do we have to wait until they start demanding upfront payment from nonresident Nigerian patients in U.S. hospitals, or do we have to wait till when they start asking our women to take a pregnancy test before getting a U.S. visa before we wake up? Get outta here. |
GenBuhari:It is not only Nigerians who don't pay their bills, but from what I am hearing at all these hospitals, it is becoming all too common with Nigerians to come and give birth without paying their bills. You said it shouldn't concern me too much, but why should it not concern me when I am also a Nigerian and subject to the same stereotype when I go to these hospitals? That is the problem with many Nigerians like you. You say it should not concern us when our fellow country folks are doing wrong in substantial numbers, then when BBC or CNN shows it and ridicule us you now start crying like a little chicken. Same thing with 419 and cocaine pushing. Instead of everyone condemning 419 and cocaine pushing when it was at its infancy, people like you will say why should it concern me, that they are not stealing from me. But when you try to fly at an European airport and they treat you like dirt, you sill start crying like a little chicken. Because of people like you, Nigerians are treated like at most international airports and countries. Even in South Africa, word on the street is that the average Nigerian is involved in a fraudulent activity, yet people like you will say why should it concern me. God help our country. |
Kgdavid:You don't get it. The poster posted a video of black girls shaking their booty sensually; you, on the other hand, said you ain't seen nothing then posted a video of some village Makosa girls shaking their ass for entertainment purposes, without no sensual appeal. |
Kgdavid:Bro, there is a huge difference between shaking your arse for entertainment and shaking it sensually. If you don't recognize the difference, then I'm sorry I can't help you. |
udezue:It is my business when my family get accused at the emergency rooms because of many Nigerians who have accumulated hospital bills and left without paying. Nigeria is the way it is because of people like you. People like you will say no one should speak against 419 because it is none of their business. Abeg sharap jor |
OgidiBoy:Everyone knows that Mexicans have a bad rap in Yankee, and even so, the Mexicans usually stay and contribute to the U.S. economy either through their labor or by paying taxes, |
My intelligent and wonderful people of Nairaland, Many Nigerians who are neither legal residents nor citizens of the United States travel to the U.S. solely for the purpose of giving birth to their children for obvious reasons--to acquire USA citizenship for their newly born. It appears that a U.S. citizenship is mostly sought after by Nigerians, even more than a UK citizenship. As a matter of fact, a consular officer will deny your visa application if you show any sign of pregnancy at the interview. The USA Constitution provides that any persons born on U.S. soil is a U.S. citizen, and many Nigerians have taken advantage of this Constitutional provision. Sadly, many Nigerians come and accumulate thousands of dollars in hospital bills upon given birth, and simply abandon the bills when they leave. This has given Nigerians a very bad reputation among emergency hospitals, for some hospitals frown at many pregnant Nigerians who come to their emergency rooms while they are in labor (they are assuming that they won't pay their bills and run back to Nigeria). The parents now take their newly born child, who is now a U.S. citizen, travel back to Nigeria and, without contributing anything to the U.S. economy, they expect that 18 years later, their child will come back to the U.S., a country to which they have paid no taxes or help develop, to benefit from several government programs provided for U.S. citizens. Do you think that these practices is fair, especially after accumulating and ignoring a substantial hospital bill? |
