Lars should include Goodluck Jonathan to his list; he will bring the team "good luck." |
The same mental laziness that caused you to write a story that is excessively and unreasonably replete with grammatical errors and incomplete words also caused you not to think about your situation and realize the girl is lying, is sleeping with that dude, and is most likely infected with a STD--the doctor told them to both take the medication. Use your brain. |

I would think the definition of being literate is graduating from secondary school (high school). |
I thought about this and was wondering whether anyone knows the answer. From my perception, though, I believe Nigerians themselves overestimate the number of educated Nigerians because Nigeria has many non-urban areas, places in which lack (or have inept) educational infrastructures and, therefore, harbor many children who do not have the opportunity go to school. |

All the people who criticized the decision of the Nigerian firm to offer employment to the Indian guy should shut the phuck up! Yes. I said it. How many Nigerians are in United Kingdom, America, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Russia, China, UAE, and in all the nations on earth, taking jobs that belong to the citizens of those countries? A whole lot. It is well known that Nigerians travel abroad to give birth to their children without paying their hospital bills. These Nigerians then take their children back to Nigeria and these kids come back 18 years later to their anchor countries to benefit from a country in which they did not help develop or pay tax. If all the other countries to which Nigerians emigrate refuse to give jobs to Nigerians, how will Nigerians cope? The world is now small, and the need for expatriates is not anything new. Most of the qualified Nigerians in the diaspora who could probably do the job offered to the Indian guy do not want to come back home. The graduates of Nigerian universities are probably not qualified to perform the job for obvious reasons--the university system is fraught with strikes, cheating, girls who offer and have intimacy with professors in exchange for a passing grade, incompetent teachers, inadequate funding, and the like. These results in incompetent graduates who are not properly trained in their specialty and therefore not qualified to do the job for which they are hired, that is if they are even hired. The only thing is that the Govt. has to enact laws that balance the interests in hiring Nigerians who are qualified for job versus hiring expatriates. I am all for hiring Nigerians, but you guys have to realize that many people overestimate the amount of Nigerians available locally who can actually do these jobs. They are not that many. How many local Nigerian firms can build all these intricate complex IT infrastructures? Probably none. Abeg, make una comot for road. There is nothing wrong in hiring expatriates and trying to invite experts to move to your country. It is actually good. America, Canada, and many countries have immigration policies that attract professionals and advanced degree holders and wealthy businessmen. Wake up people; don't get emotional but critically think of the benefit to our country. Silicon Valley, California was developed mainly by highly skilled Indians. If Nigeria can attract all these smart people from other countries, coupled with fixing the power sector, Nigeria will be a world leader in no time. I actually think it is good to attract all these Indian experts to come and live in the country. |
that's what happens when you have a country that does not boast many attractive ladies like Genevieve. If D'banj were in Hollywood, he will have his pick of hot chicks. But since Genevieve is like a diamond in the rubble according to Naija standards, in that she is sought after by many men because she is one of the few chicks who is attractive, she can run her mouth the way she is doing now. She needs to sharap, Abeg! In Yankee, Genevieve is just another girl on the corner. |
Dear Sir/Madam I am sure that you have heard about the death of Nigeria's president Yar'adua, for it is the headline on every major news network in the world. Unfortunately, Mr. Yar'adua died without writing a will, and he is survived by his wife. His wife will inherit some of his property and wealth according to the laws of Nigeria. However, the manager of First Bank of Nigeria, PLC has just notified me that President Yar'adua has the equivalent of $50,000,000 (fifty million US Dollars) in his bank account, and that he did not list any next of kin. According to the laws of Nigeria, therefore, since he did not list any next of kin, the money will pass to his successor in interest. I have talked to the Bank Manager and he told me that I am the successor in interest to any of President Yar'adua's assets, including financial assets, but that I have to sign several paperwork to expeditiously effectuate the transfer to me, the successor in interest. Please keep this matter confidential, for disclosing to any third party this information may affect the transfer of the funds to my bank account. The manager has also informed that we need to some funds to effectuate this transfer, and therefore I need to remit to him as soon as possible the sum of $100,000 (one hundred thousand US dollars). Once you send me the $100,000, I will sign the necessary paperwork and transfer the money to your foreign account, whereupon you can deduct your $100,000 plus your $10,000,000 (ten million US dollars) which is your commission for being a partner. Thank you very much. I hope that you will act swiftly within the next 24 hours, for every time wasted can severely jeopardize this transaction. The manger of First Bank of Nigeria, PLC will contact you insofar as needed to collect any relevant information that is pertinent to this transfer. Your full cooperation is required. Sincerely, Alhaji Al Rabin Tal Wa lal Successor in interest to his excellency, President Musa Yar'adua |

In all fairness, Yar'adua was the first Nigerian president to publicly declare his assets before assuming power, effectively setting a declaration with which to compare his assets upon leaving office. No other Nigerian president can say the same. |
He was partially dead; he is now fully dead. |
kosovo:which achievements? |
This shows that God has a plan for Nigeria. Abacha's death paved the way for Nigeria's transition from military to civilian rule. Hopefully, Yaradua's death will pave the way for Nigeria's transition from corrupt civilian leaders to the leader who will help Nigeria harness her true potentials, to become the leader in Africa, and to become the leaderin the black world, at the very least. |

For example, successful black women in America think they are too "successful" to cook for their husbands. They will gladly say why should they cook for their husbands when both of them are working. Oprah Winfrey, who is unquestionably a role model to many of these "successful" black women, has neither a husband nor any children, but I'm sure she can proudly say she is a successful black woman. Successful black women in Nigeria, on the other hand, at least for the most past, still know their wifey roles and don't subscribe to the jagbajantis mentality of these successful black women in America, save for a few of our lost Naija sisters who think it's cool to be like these American girls, only to find out why they are single at 35. |
I really like Victor Anichebe, for he is a deadly offensive midfielder/ right winger who performed excellently during the Beijing Olympics and is in good form for his club, Everton. He is fearless and has pace, both of which are attributes that can create scoring opportunities for strikers. He is also good in the air with his head. |
cmezue:you are free to quote the verse with which the Calabar terrorist justified his acts. Bible says thou shall not kill. Please quote me any verse of the Bible that explicitly says you should kill. According to Holy Quran, Surah 9:5 authorizes Muslims to kill the "infidels." The Bible unequivocally repudiates killing under any circumstance. |
usdane:Any person can purport to justify their actions with religion, for you cannot prevent anyone from speaking their opinion, even when it is a false opinion. That being said, the issue is not whether there are evil doers who perpetrate their wicked ways under the pretext of any religion, say Islam or Christianity, but the issue is whether there is a Biblical or Koranic basis for justifying such heinous acts? There is no Biblical basis for perpetrating any heinous acts, especially in the New Testament, where such evil behaviors are unequivocally repudiated. The Holy Koran, on the other hand, has passages under which an evildoer can perpetrate and justify his heinous acts, and the Koran explicitly sanctions the use of violence, as in Jihad, to defend Islam. Christianity, while strikingly different from Islam, provides that vengeance should be left to God, and that if the enemy slaps you on the right cheek, turn the left cheek to the enemy so that he can slap you again. Christianity is a religion of peace. As a matter of fact, one of the cardinal principles that underlies the Christian faith and that which is obvious in the Ten Commandments is thou shall not kill. Can the same be said of the Quran? I challenge any Muslim to defend with Koranic passages. Because of the Koran's sanction of violence, it is axiomatic that terrorists can speak of the evil actions against a backdrop of an AK-47 assault rifle side by side with the Holy Koran, and recite verses from the Koran before they embark on killing innocent people, especially suicide bombers. Likewise, the terrorists who beheaded an American journalist in Iraq recited verses from the Koran before and during the beheading process. This is the corollary of he Koran's sanction of violence. |
odiaero:waste of whose time and whose money? think before you write |
Mubz:So are you telling me that the Holy Quran does not authorize Muslims to wage war against the enemy? Didn't Prophet Mohammed fight many battles? Come on, bro! |
All Muslims are not terrorists, but the teachings and the actions of Prophet Mohammed gives enough wiggle room that a reasonable Muslim can interpret them to mean that he is Koranically justified to wage war on the infidels, i.e., those who are the purported enemies of Islam, such as the West, Christians, and blah blah blah. If, for example, Islam preachings said leave vengeance unto Allah/God, just like that espoused in Christianity, these so called extremists will no have no bases with which to justify their actions. In a nut shell, all Muslims are not terrorists, but terrorists have an Koranic basis under which they can justify their actions. |
I do not have any problem with the documentary, for I believe that it benefits the country when the plight of the impoverished in Lagos or in Nigeria are shown to the world. What I have a problem with, however, is the title of the documentary--Welcome to Lagos--for it is very misleading. An unfamiliar person may conclude that it represents the entire Lagos. Since BBC titled the documentary "Welcome to Lagos," BBC should have produced a documentary that represents the entire inhabitants and houses in Lagos, both of which will be a fair and accurate representation of the impoverished side as well as the hustle and the wealthy side, all in the interest of fairness and accuracy. Moreso, if BBC wanted to focus their documentary on the slums and on the plight of the impoverished in Lagos, they should have titled their documentary 'Welcome to the slums or scavengers of Lagos." The title of the documentary is not fairly traceable to its contents and is, therefore, entirely misleading. It could also be viewed as a willful attempt by BBC to denigrate the image of Lagos. Overall, the title of the documentary is entirely misleading, especially to persons unfamiliar with Lagos. BBC should be ashamed of itself for such misrepresentation. If BBC wanted to show the scavengers and slums of Lagos, then the appropriate title should not have been "Welcome to Lagos," for Lagos has several other inhabitants, many of whom are neither scavengers nor reside in slums. |
So are you guys saying none of our players are actually the age they claim? What of Anichebe and Obi Mikel? Don't you think they are the age they claim. |
Timaya's main problem is his insecurity. When this girl now cheats on him with an area boy Timaya will be ready to fight and kill someone. Timaya is a bhitch arse nhigga |
Mike Adenuga is a billionaire whose daughter is about to have a special day--a wedding--which, hopefully, will happen once. I am sure his daughter's dream is to have Beyonce perform at her wedding, and what a special way to effectuate his daughter's dream on a day that will happen once, since he has the means to do so. PSA: If you have a problem with him because he effectuated his daughter's dream, particularly considering that he has labored for his money his entire life, you are welcome to jump inside River Niger. (CNN) -- The student body president of California State University, Chico, was recovering Monday from stab wounds suffered in what police believe was a hate crime, officials said. Joseph Igbineweka, who was born in Nigeria, was stabbed early Sunday while walking in a Chico neighborhood near the college where mostly students reside, Chico police Sgt. Rob Merrifield said. Igbineweka passed two men who began to make racial slurs, Merrifield said. He ignored them and continued to walk, but they followed him and continued to yell at him. Igbineweka eventually turned around, and one of the men struck him, Merrifield said. He fought back, but the man pulled a pocket knife and stabbed him at least four times, in the neck, chest, stomach and arm, according to Merrifield. The attacker fled on foot. Several police officers were in the area and were alerted to the situation, Merrifield said. An officer found Igbineweka and was able to get a description of the attacker and alert other officers in the area. A suspect, 19-year-old Barry Sayavong, was found and arrested a few blocks away, Merrifield said. Sayavong, of Chico, is facing charges of attempted murder and a hate crime, according to Merrifield. Igbineweka was hospitalized Monday but is expected to recover, Merrifield said. His worst injury was a deep gash on his arm. Igbineweka was in stable condition, said Joe Wills, spokesman for the university, which is commonly known as Chico State. "While violent crimes happen in this and other communities, this is very disturbing," Wills said. "Lots of people know Joe." The student body president is akin to a public figure in Chico, a university town of about 100,000 people, he said. Igbineweka "is very well known in the local community," Wills said. "This is a hate crime and a very big deal." Wills said the mood on campus "is one of shock and sadness and concern for Joe." "And also there is looking forward to what people can do so that these kinds of crimes aren't repeated," Wills said. "Today, our thoughts are with Joseph hoping for his full recovery," said a statement from Chico Mayor Ann Schwab and university President Paul Zingg. "We, and several others, have visited with him. , He is in good spirits considering what he has been through." Igbineweka "is looking forward to getting back on campus and looking for solutions to reduce violence in the community," Wills said. "He is motivated to stay active." Igbineweka moved to the United States at the age of 15, and is from Richmond, California, Wills said. The attack "is an assault on the values of civility and respect for other people that both Chico State and the city of Chico work so hard to ensure," Schwab and Zingg said in their statement. "We choose not to be defined by hate-filled and criminal acts." "From his hospital bed, Joseph urges us to 'continue the conversation' around violence and prejudice," the two said. "We assure Joseph we will do that." An open forum was set for Monday afternoon for anyone wishing to address the incident and discuss efforts for the community to move forward, they said. All these idiots on this thread suffering from acute inferiority complex. What does the poster have to say about the presidents of other countries whose native languages are not English. For example, German president, Italian president, etc.? Who gives a damn about his primitive accent? Obviously some people here do. That being said, a person's accent is not a yardstick by which you measure their intelligence and their ability to govern effectively. |
