I have said this before and would not hesitate to echo it again, Nigeria is a really messed up baby. What many people here dont clearly understand is, what Sani Yerima did is clearly Quranic. He has simply followed in the footsteps of the founder of Islam who married a minor. If you ask an average muslim about what Yerima did, they would simply tell you there is nothing wrong in what he did. If anyone is thinking the national assembly will take a measure against Yerima, the person may as well be daydreaming. The majority of the lawmakers in the NASS are muslim northerners who are sharia sympathizers. This is a result of federal government refusal to take a definite stand as regard the sharia. This is a clear conflict between the civil law and the sharia law. I was listening to a muslim medical doctor who saw nothing wrong in marrying and having intimacy with a minor! It is as bad as that.

The North will remain backward for a long time to come, and if they dont do something about the practice of their religion, 100% education among their citizens will not help them. I have seen this before, the difference between an Hausa professor and that dirty Almajiri boy on the street is not much. They all think much more alike. The religion guide their reasoning, and you as well as i know that many things in the religion are seriously in conflict with the present realities. The only that keeps bordering me is that this people will not develop and they will not easily allow Nigeria as a country to develop. We really need a break.

All those Malos in Abuja will not unequivocally repudiate the actions of that retard, Sani Yerima. As long as those Malos remain the majority in power, Nigeria will never progress.

illiteracy in general is a mild disease; but when you have illiteracy among Northern Muslims, you have a malignant disease which will invariably become an epidemic.

The basis upon which I said that the statements on this thread shows why Nigeria is in its current state is that many Nigerians lack patience and want excellent results without adequate preparation, without giving merit, and without taking some reasonable risks. Today, Largerback was experimenting, preparing, and giving untested players a chance to prove themselves, all before he selects his final 23. The objective of today's game was not winning but to field untested players in a competitive environment, and some people cannot understand that simple rationale. If he wanted to win he could have used his best 11, and everyone would have been commending him without inquiring as to other untested players who may be talented. Bottom line, he is trying to provide the opportunity for all the players to showcase their skill, the results on which he would base his final selection. This is a mere friendly game for goodness sake, and what better way to test players than in a friendly game that does not count. At least he is unlike Amodu who makes his selection without merit, logic, reason, but on nepotism.

All the posts in this forum show why Nigeria is in its current state. This is the first match, and considering it was an experimental match, it was not bad at all. The coach is doing what a rational coach will do--that is, give players a chance to prove themselves before releasing them. Now that he has played Kanu, he will be acting within his bounds if he decides to release Kanu and the other nonperforming players. Remember, he has 30 boots in his camp, and only 11 players will start.
By the time he plays his third friendly, he will know which players whom are worthy of making the starting eleven. Then, all these criticisms will be valid if the reasoning behind the criticism are based upon representative data of three matches or so, not on only one match. But for now, these criticisms are without merit. Mind you also, Saudi Arabia is a footballing nation and a tough team; there are no longer any easy defeats in football.

People are talking as though lawyers are the only professionals in Nigeria who receive such paltry wages? This problem of paying low wages affects all other occupations, including doctors, nurses, architects, and the like. I read about in one of the posts about how one driver makes more than some lawyers. Well, that is very possible because there is always an exception to the rule. Similarly, in the western world, it is not uncommon for certain chauffeurs, especially those employed by wealthy celebrities, to earn more than some doctors, but we all know that is is an exception to the norm.
Lawyers, at least in Yankee, unlike other professionals, have a better chance of a high earning potential, which usually comes after years of hard work, and the money is usually earned by the contingency fees recovered after a favorable settlement or judgment. If you are a lazy lawyer, on the other hand, then you will probably not make as much money as a lawyer who gets his hand dirty, and you may work in the public sector or doing transactional work. But we all know that in Nigeria the economy is bad, and that is why lawyers, doctors, nurses, and many professionals flee the country in search of greener pastures. It is not just lawyers who receive paltry wages.

A lot of people who are fearing Argentina have inferiority complex, for all they fear is the name "Argentina," and not the actual threat of the team. The reason is that if you research the Argentine team's recent performances, you will realize that they have not performed very well and, just like Nigeria, struggled to qualify for the World Cup, losing 6-1 to Bolivia, losing 2-1 to Brazil, losing to Paraguay, and losing to a string of other weaker teams. The Argentine team, with the exception of Messi, is not as good as you guys seem, and since soccer is a team sport, one man cannot carry a team all by himself. You need 11 players ready to play before you can be successful, for Messi cannot be a striker as well as a midfielder and defender; he cannot do it all by himself.

My point that is that anything can happen when we face Argentina, and it saddens me to see Nigerians assume that a loss is all but assured. If you travel to the World Cup with the mindset that you will lose to Argentina and not advance past the first round, what is the point of even going. Why not withdraw to give opportunity to another team that has faith that they can beat even the best?

so yea i agree that there is a psychology there.  it justs means that the girl prefers serious relationships over flings. if she wants flings, she will go with every guy that tries to bed her and will definitely not play hard to get. 

so it depends on what the girl wants from u or how she perceives your sincerity

Because a girl is not playing hard to get does not necessarily mean that she accepts going to bed with every guy who offers to bed her. It just means she does not play yanga and childish games when she is genuinely interested in the guy, and she does not fail to show interest in the guy just because she feels that playing hard to get is the right thing to do. piggybacking on the poster's theory, there is no compelling or sensible reason to talk to ugly, shapeless (wowo) girls, for the ugly ones are more likely to play hard-to-get in the relationship and in giving up the kitty, in an attempt to compensate for the shortfall in their attractiveness. A pretty girl generally has nothing to prove. And even if decide to deal with the hard-to-get game, you might as well take it from a pretty girl because ugly girls will give you equal or greater amounts of drama with their hard-to-get game.

I'll rather believe in evolution--considering there are still some scientific basis upon which evolution is based--than worship the skeletal remains of a human being. Why should I worship the remains of a human being like me?
