Tolexander: I will rather prefer studying abroad to paying this amount of tuition fee in Nigeria. That amount is about $2,900, which part of abroad will that amount pay your tuition? FYI most countries international students tuition are more than double the rate of native students. #980k sound like a lot of money which ofcox it is but with recent exchange, it's no money abroad at least not for tuition. |

sirusX: Four things come to mind...
1. When you stop doing the things you did with love and eagerness when you were trying to woo your partner.
2. When you change your character after you feel you have gotten your partner in a relationship or marriage.
3. When you fail to make a proper work - life balance, and something else becomes your priority over your partner.
4. When talks between partners becomes a routine, and you stop giving the wonderful surprises your partner needs, especially when they least expect it. Who campaign after winning election? |

A single story building ofcox will allow more space for parking and at the same time the structure will look more appealing than a bungalow. Without a doubt it will cost more cux the foundation of a bungalow is cheaper than that of a story building and the decking too is another expenses you won't have to deal with in a bungalow. I will strongly advise something more than 10 rooms especially if you have the means to make it a story building. 10 rooms upstaires and 10 down sounds better and ofcox bring more revenue/income. |

If his parents makes below $90,000 every year, then he's qualified for a free hostel and financial aid. That's not the only money will receive, he can apply for GRANT and they will add extra $3000 to the $1,500 financial aid making all the money total to $4,000 He's not a US citizen or permanent residence, are you saying Nigerians qualify for this benefits too? |

CProf: Good day nairalanders, I need your advice and help on what to do because I am totally confused. I am 23, holds a Bsc from a Nigerian university. I recently got into a masters program in the US with full tuition waiver and a generous monthly stipend that would cater for my living expenses. I already have my particulars to apply for my F1 student visa but I'm scared because of the uncertainty that lies ahead; also the exchange rate is not helping matters I am sure I would get the visa but as I'm talking, I only have 100k left on me because I spent a lot during the application processes. I can huzzle and get my flight fee because I still have 2 months to resumption. Now, my headache is that I would still need up to $2000(roughly #700,000) to survive for the first month, pay health insurance and other small fees before I start receiving my monthly stipend of $1500. School resumes August 14, what should I do? Tried taking up loan from the bank but didn't work out. I am confused at the moment. Should I go ahead and get the flight fee, get to US with almost no amount except God provides an helper? Or should I just forget about my America dream I have exhausted all my options, God help me. Please advice a brother.
N.B My parents are old pensioners that only God knows when the government would answer them.
I am at a crucial point in my life. Thanks Please tell me the school that gave you admission for masters in the US with tuition waiver? Nothing is free here oga! Somebody somehow will have to pay it so are you on some scholarship from Nigeria? Or being sponsored by a company or something? Even people that get financial aid pay school fees (government pay it for them) so please explain more cux you seem to have more benefits than some US citizens! Pls kowaciate! |

Addicted2Women: Who told you that you need $2000 to survive for the first month ?? Have you ever heard of Chinese buffet ?? Price rite ?? Wetin you wan chop ?? A loaf of bread is 99 cent
Food is the cheapest thing you can buy in America.
You need no health insurance.
Again, where this country called Nigeria is headed to, you better get the fucck out.
Welcome to the land of opportunities. Even if you graduate, you will still stay here for a long time before you start thinking of going back
America is the only and best country in the whole wide world, other countries are just local governments
The $1,500 you're talking about is financial aid you get from your school every semester, it's a free money. You can get up to $14,000 every year just for going to school. Nobody go ask you to pay it back Good advise but my questions are how did he qualify for financial aid in the first place? He's coming on an F1 student visa which means he will be paying international tuition fees. Which government will pay that and still hand him $1,500 a month? Nigeria? Cux am sure u guys are not talking about US cux he must prove that he can afford the tuition and living expenses before they grant him admission as F1 student. |

donvat1: my broda they charity begins at home. a word is enough for a wise. so be wise. I own a house both in the city and village. I refuse to have one only in the village where I visit once a year for a month or less and have nothing where I actually live and that is my own preference. It's funny that this same topic came up again at a friend's house last saturday! Another Abiriba man we know who is in his late 60s, doesn't have a good job decided to kick off this project that we all know that with his present income, the house won't be done in 20 years. He has 3 kids who were all born in the US and they live in a 2 bedrooms apartment. Those kids (all above 10) had visited Nigeria once, they have no plans of ever relocating there (so they say). Now tell me, who is this guy building that house for? While a $20,000 down payment will get them a nice house and even if the unforseen happen, his family can continue paying the mortgage and still have a roof over their head. All the same every man with his choice. If you're rich and can afford it, go for it but not when you're struggling. |
