I know a single mom of three running her own business who married an English teacher from Bouake

I know another single mother who married an expatriate (Franco Lebanese)

and of course, my doctor with a live in boyfriend (more like man friend, because that man pass boy )

but in Nigeria
because we have monetized relationships and its more of what I can get than i give, making both parties scheming to get the best from the other partner while at the same time give the least, I am not surprised that

1)A good number of single women who are not doing so good financially will want to scheme a young (naive) guy into shouldering her responsibility while giving him next to nothing in terms of value in return
AND

2) the well to do ones will rather not marry or have anything to do with the struggling ones
to them, tho most may be well off, that hustle /poverty /grab /user MENTALITY is still engrained in most of them, it seems to be a 'survival kit" to have in Nigeria

she does not want to be "used" in her small mind, and rather want to be the one using.

it's testament to our failed, fvxked societal orientation in Nigeria

when you date women from different parts of the world, you would notice that trait in many naija ladies, when you compare with ladies from elsewhere

There is nothing wrong with being a single mother or marrying one. Different things could lead to a lady becoming a single mother. It could be she lost her husband. She got divorced. Got pregnant out of wedlock and both of them didn't end up getting married. She was raped and got pregnant. So many reasons. That someone has a child for someone and she now a single mum doesn't make her less a human than every other non single ladies. There are so many single mothers who are doing so well for themselves. They don't even need a man to compliment them, financially.

I am presently dating a single mother and I can say she is the best I have ever been with. If she doesn't tell you that she is a mother, you would never know. She has a 5 year old boy that I love so much. I and the kid are best of friends. Whenever I call her, if I haven't heard the boy's voice or speak to him, I am not done for that day.
I am older to her by 5 years. She is educated and is doing well for herself. Beautiful and well looking. I have dated other single ladies before and I can tell the difference. When we go out, people see as a family. They see the kid as mine because of the way we bond. We are already making plans on settling down together.
So, not all single mothers are a liability. Some are angels.

And for those of you condemning single mothers, remember you have sisters or female cousins or nieces. No one prays for evil occurrence. If God forbids your female family member lost her husband at a very early age or she got divorced. Are you saying she shouldn't remarry because she is a single mother? Or will you call her evening newspaper?

This reminds me of an experiment I did with many of my female friends when I was still in the uni. I asked if they could take a bullet for their husband, and they all said NO straight up. You know, the unthinking and automatic NO, without any forethoughts. It's non-negotiable, they cant. Then I asked if they can take a bullet for their children, and many of them said YES. I asked men the same, and many of them said yes, but few agreed to do it only if they are married to her. And that revealed something about male and female nature, I learned a lot that day.

Now an experiment for everyone, it takes just less than 10 seconds. to do. try to Google ''lady took a bullet for boyfriend'', you will be shocked that there is not an article about women taking a bullet for their man, surprisingly, google will bring results of thousands of men that have taken a bullet for their lady, and some even killed on the spot. Do you think the movie Titanic will be a hit if it was Rose that sacrificed her life for Jack? Women life are premium before men, and women know this timeless truth.

If a woman cant take a bullet for the father of her child, what makes you think she will do that when you are not the father? a woman can not love a man in the way men love women. A man in love will provide, protect, and even go farther to sacrifice his life for his family, women did not evolve to do that. A woman felt loved when she is being taken care of, a man felt loved when a woman gives him the chances to spend his resources on her. So if a single mum loves you, you should interpret it as a hole in your pocket, to spend and protect, You are only a means to an end, and if you outlive your usefulness, you will be disposed of. It is not a coincidence that the bible never required women to love a man, but always requires men to love a woman, except titus 2.4 where it requires men to teach women how to love. I can only feel sorry for men that go for single mothers.

As a very young woman in higher institution and independent but is biz savvy, I trade while in school(got that spirit from my mum), I deal in jewerlies.
I will hoop on night bus from ninth mile to kano standing straight to sabongeli.
Buy jewerlies( was couched by a kanuri man), pay for a seat, stop somewhere in logo state and run with every other person when robbers attack, enter school, shower and go to class.
My buyers are already waiting. After school I will sleep and the next day, take my goods to the place I normally sell it and just give it a maximum of 3 days and they are all gone.
While some of my mates were busy chasing men, I was making money.
Finished school and went for service, worked on my transfer and was working where I want to work,got married, so what are u saying?
