As far as I'm concerned, every human is my neighbour and deserves my respect. I have no reason to discriminate against any human whatsoever neither should I be made subservient to anyone no matter what. The first task of every human is understanding who they are and how should they live their life within the boundaries of liberty ordained for them by God Who must remain the first in their life. The second task is love your fellow humans as yourself irrespective of who they are. That kind of your darling country doesn't help to facilitate those things. Outside, those two things, you will live the way some people want you to live and serve them till you leave the planet.

You see God made me a Yoruba man, put me in Yoruba land and surrounded me with all that I need to live a fulfilled life and satisfy the desire of God. Let me tell you no matter how much you gain from today's politics, you are a defeated creature juts like a caged animal. Finish! Germans have the best of life in Germany, the French live like in paradise on their own soil, and the English reign in England. Their cultures are thriving, their languages are spreading across the world to conquer more lands exonomically and politically. They don't think in a mother tongue and then struggle to translate or interprete in a foreign language like you and I do - the Chinese, the Japanese, the Arab, the Koreans, even the the Israelis and many others are not subject to the virus that put tribalism anthem in your mouth. They are free and developed, and are not on japa mode like you and other members of different nations fused together as Nigeria.

If you think you are going to gain anything from the current political dispensation in Nigeria and fail to open your eyes and think differently, please think of your unborn descendants who will definitely curse you tomorrow, because what you refuse to know they will know and they will not wish you well for failing to maintain a difference. Your fulfilment is in your own natural identity, language, culture, and land. Nations can come together and form a partnership, federation, confederation, or whatever you wish to call it, where they all derive mutual benefits but not like the albatross on your neck called Nigeria.

As it is today, you are a slave in the 1999 constitution-operated system called Nigeria.

A lot of British Yorubas (not all or even the fast majority, don’t get me wrong) who grew up in an insular bubble without that exposure to Nigeria for what it is might speak/understand little bits of Yoruba and pidgin but go as far as lumping Igbos and Hausa together, despite the actual fact that Hausas are more similar to Yorubas than Igbos I’d anything. They could not be more different but ignorant people can even confuse them.

Anything done with methodology that can be taught other people is using the scientific method. I bet she does. This idea some myopic people seem to have that every other Yoruba person has one foot in t’mosque is just absolute crap. The percentage of Yoruba Muslims all-in-all (maybe outside Kwara and certain parts of Oyo State) won’t be more than 30-35%. Your stereotypical auntie Funke is a hardcore Pentecostal and nothing else. So I’ve never intrinsically connected Yorubas with Islam whatsoever. Just that they’re more-or-less a sizeable minority (majority in more historically Northern-affiliated/dealing parts of Yorubaland, no doubt) and obviously much greater in number than the Igbo equivalent (of Muslims), that’s all. In the U.K. people very rarely intrinsically associate Yorubas with Islam (obvious exceptions aside) because churches like R.C.C.G. are such a big deal (t)here and Yorubas obviously form a very sizeable number in Pentecostal churches, including Redeemed. It’s a bit like how Igbos are majority Christian (even if only nominally), obviously, but there’s a certain denominational divide between Catholics (I hate the Catholic Church, I’m not even going to lie) and Pentecostals, with Methodists (Abia State is probably the most Methodist/Assemblies of God-leaning state in the whole of Nigeria) and Anglicans falling in the middle. There’s a divide that’s closer to equity these days but Igbos aren’t inherently Catholic-leaning (despite the stereotypes, not that there’s not an element of historical truth in them) any more than Yorubas are inherently Muslim-leaning and that’s the truth.

Igbo. Although Kwara’s half-and-half and Oyo State people can be a bit funny about Igbos at the best of times. Some of them have a very militant anti-Igbo like attitude that you’d expect more from actual core unexposed northerners.

Anyone who says Igbos and Yorubas have nothing in common is low-key deceiving themselves. It’s up to you if you prefer to identify as Biafran and allow other Nigerians but don’t pretend that similarities don’t exist. There’s a fundamental “Nigerian-ness” that can’t be shaken across the south. Like it or don’t like it. Integrate or don’t integrate.

Erm. Igbos have more variety when it comes to soups and traditional food and Calabar people are gassed up because of their vegetable soups (and their meticulous ways of cooking in general). Jollof rice in all its shades is jollof rice and is as individual as the person who cooks it but Yoruba people are often uniquely good when it comes to it. If there’s one Nigerian food that Yorubas can potentially cook better than Igbos, it’s jollof rice. They’re pretty good with rice, but then so are Igbos. They’re just somewhat different somehow but they’re both good.

Calabar people are sometimes said to be the best cooks in Nigeria but I just don’t see that much evidence of local versatility beyond their vegetable soups. But no-doubt they’re good cooks and the ones in the U.K. (and I guess U.S./Canada) make very good jollof rice, always managing to get the tin-tomato balance down to a fine T but without too much oil (seafood jollof rice is nice, too, and like Igbos a lot of Ibom-Cross River people like coconut rice). And Hilda Bacci is from Akwa Ibom so that must count for something. But a steady cook can be super-good/versatile no matter where they’re from. They all have their relative pros and cons.
We can forever be grateful to Hausas for suya and they have a few tasty bits going for them. Edo people are great with stew, kpomo, ogbono and gizdodo.

Every ethnic group in Nigeria cooks some sort of egusi soup but I’d say Igbos, Deltans, Akwa Ibom/Cross River/Benue people and Ondo/Ekiti Yorubas are uniquely good at it.

You probably didn’t deep a word of that but I was in the mood to reply somehow.

I once blocked someone for telling me I sleep too much because I didn't respond to his message by 2am. I first made it clear to him that a 9-5 worker shouldn't be awake by 2am WAT. So, I owe him no response at such unholy hour.

I don't joke with my sleep. Even during the era of midnight call, man couldn't make me stay awake all night. You will call and I won't pick.

If you come to my family house when I am asleep. Not even my mother would wake me up for you. I don't wake people up either. If you sleep off in my house, I will on fan to blow you and leave you there. Except there is work/emergency.

Sleep is sacred. I invested in an orthopedic mattress to ensure I sleep better.




Yes, it is an investment. I spent over 200k on a mattress for my sanity. If you sleep on one, I can assure you, you would wake up happier, be less aggressive than you currently are and mind your business more. Try it and thank me.

Poor/inadequate sleep is responsible for 90% of Nigerians bad attitude. Including yours.
