Art, Graphics & VideoRe: I Need Help On Which Dslr Camera To Buy! by prof800(mod): 3:27pm On Feb 14, 2015
Peterwizzy:
yeah where do they sell these cameras in Nigeria ??
In Lagos;
You can get them at any major market. From Agege dopemu to Alaba to Lawanson Chitta to ikorodu to computer village. Or shop online from anywhere in Nigeria.

But the camera headquarters in Nigeria is at Lagos Island (Isale Agbede street/Aroloya street) where you can get almost anything including accessories at the cheapest possible price.

TV/MoviesRe: The Silent Witness - A Short Silent Movie by prof800(m): 2:19am On Feb 12, 2015
Wow... I actually watched this? ...for six minutes...!?

My sister, I say nice job. But that is the only nice part.
Though I forgive you for everything else.

Did you D.O.P this short?
At about 1:57 in your video, you shot against the light and the facial expression of your characters got lost.

Also at 4:something I could hear the director/camera man's voice.

The story is too macaroni... sad

The D.O.P forgot the importance of camera shots and their significance too.

Besides, this is NOT a silent short at all. The screams and mumblings marred it.

The ambient sound and voiceless dialogue should've not been there.
It should have been scored and replaced by sound effects.

The transitions remind me of those Nigerian tv dramas we used to watch on NTA as far back as '89, '90. I think it's that nostalgic feeling that kept me going.

TV/MoviesRe: Invasion 1897 - British Film Institue - Q&A Session - 7th Feb, 2015 by prof800(m): 1:29am On Feb 12, 2015
I have been fighting the urge to comment on this thread but I cannot withstand it anymore.

I am on a resolution to never reply "people who don't know better" but I'm seeing incredibly shitty posts by mrmagoo, lechiffre and co.

Please guys if na play... stop am.

First this is not the main critic thread for invasion 1897...this is a Q&A session...for rubbinMinds. I'm pretty sure a pure criticism of this movie will be even less merciful.

Second, a review is only a person's personal opinion. It is not worth arguing over. If you don't like it then write your own.

Then we should know that the importance of criticisms in any profession cannot be overemphasized. In Arts, in Literature... the poets... Even a PhD thesis has to be defended before a panel of jurors. As a moviemaker your first critic is your audience. (just like in the beverage industry where your last and ultimate critic for your product is the final consumer.... no matter how many ISO/NIS certs. you've got.)
The AUDIENCE has the right to criticize a movie and NO they are not obliged to make their own movies due to that. Atleast you see Audience ratings on international movie sites.

In hollywood, indie filmmakers are usually on their toes knowing that various critics (professional, arm.chair, audience, etc) are at their backs... watching. That is how they encourage professionalism and creativity.

Hi guys, please I need urgent help. We want to raise funds for someone on the project and need to setup a gofundme or indie gogo account to enable our followers contribute. To that effect, I'm looking for a trusted nairalander based in the US that would provide his US bank account and PayPal and handle the funds for us. Lots of people have sent me DMs on Instagram suggesting the need for the funding accounts and volunteering to help but I need someone from nairaland, someone we can trust and hold accountable. Please help recommend someone or volunteer if you can do it for us. Thanks and God bless you.
Ujsizzle can you help me tag people that you think might want to help? Please.
