A typical Nigerian Driver will tell you he his only giving Egunje to avoid delay,that's the same mindset of a criminal with weapon.
If we don't discourage the payment of Egunje on the highway and retrain our highway officers, a mere returning of check point will rather enriched the corrupt officers.

But of course the CP will give marching orders, the checkpoint is to check for weapons and fleeing criminals/kidnappers/bandits.

God to the east Owerri as a case study,some corrupt police officer's have turned each check point to a tax collection spot and as well harass innocent citizen who fail to corporate there by leaving the criminals to have a filled day.

We need to increase our air and water surveillance, involve citizens to pass necessary information to aid our law enforcement agency by creating the right awareness (Our national orientation agency is lagging behind), stop inflow of weapons from our borders, enact strict laws as you said against kidnapping finally discourage payment of ransom by the victims to the kidnappers.
The last point can be archive if our security parameters live up to it's responsibilities to protect life and properties thereby creating the right confidence in the mind of the citizen Just like the developed Nations.

Our present university offer so many course that aren't relevant in Nigeria labour market. Whatever fund budgeted for creating new university should rather be channel into making the existing one innovative.

That one is mostly common with cab drivers, cause they're the ones most likely to buy fuel at random amounts. Whatever amount isn't a round figure like 2K, 3K, 4K, etc.., and I can comfortably assure you that you've been cheated at one point in time or the other.

Fuel pumps naturally display three or four zeros when cleared. You request for 2500 fuel. Attendant inputs 2050 on the side panel. He pumps and you're staring, when it gets to 1900, he reduces the nozzle intensity to the first step so it enters slowly, without you noticing. Meter counts and stops at 2050 naira instead of 2500. You're staring hard, but you can see a "2" and a "5", so you just pay and smile away cause the extra zero after the main amount makes it look like 2500..

Some attendants are even brutal enough to sell you 200 naira fuel as 2K. All they have to do is dispense it slowly, engage you in a brief conversation to know if there was fuel in your tank or it's empty. Once you have fuel, you're the perfect prey. Once sale is done, you drive away, hoping your odometer will indicate once you keep driving.

Owerri is a beautiful city ya, but without brown roof is false.... visit world bank Area A,N,M,, Ama wire towards Orji , tetlow et al, you will still find some building with brown roof. Although, they still have the asthetic and organization.

It basically can only be discovered by the DPR (Department of Price Regulators) that doubles as the body responsible for constantly checking the "completeness" of meters dispensing fuel in stations.

Sadly, that body hardly keeps up with its responsibilities, and when they eventually do, they simply take bribes and drive away to the next station.

Believe an Agbero @ ur own risk.. All this damage control is just for Lagos not to get involved in the nlc strike, and it is temporary because u can't argue with an Agbero or take him to court if things changes.

Lastly.. Our level of societal decadence is mind blowing.. See how low we have become as a society, to be at the mercy of THUGS....
