YoobaNesan:
And when you say 'Selling a domain you don't own is fraudulent ' I totally agree with that, but that's not the case here.

Because, you later own the name by registering it before you sell it.
You've only created a veil by letting the end user think you already own the name prior to contacting them.

It's a gamble.

Thanks.

Now that he doesn't own the name nko? Someone has made an offer of 5k like he claimed, and domain has been registered by someone else, what does that portray?

Nemo dat quod non habet.

I end it here.

YoobaNesan:
Can you justify that domain tasting is fraudulent?
If No, then contacting an end user before regging a name is just playing safe and a bad practise.

Domain tasting is the practice of temporarily registering a domain under the five-day Add Grace Period at the beginning of the registration of an ICANN-regulated second-level domain. During this period, a registration must be fully refunded by the domain name registry if cancelled. Wikipedia

Can you justify this writeup?

Did he register the domain? Then why claiming what he did to be domain tasting.

Nigerians aren't the only ones registering domain names. Neither are they the only ones that can spot rare gems.

Also the act of contacting an enduser for a domain that is not in your portfolio is fraudulent.

At some time, we may be tempted to outsmart the system, but we shouldn't do that.

If you sell a domain, let's say for five figures, how do you intend to receive such money into your Nigeria account? Are there no limitations to the amount you can receive into your Nigerian bank account without attracting agencies such as EFCC?

You sold a domain name not fraud....

You can get your transaction invoice from any escrow company that handled the transaction if need be...

No problem here....

Domain business is a real business and not a fraudulent one. So why fear efcc.

Unfortunately I cannot provide the solution you seek due to disengagement from Epik holdings. From what I know, majority of the CS folks had left. So it’s expected to get extremely slow replies from whoever is on shift there with operations reduced to 8 hours daily. No more 24hrs.

Reach out to l.skaruup@epik.com or b.royce@epik.com

For those who have 2FA on their acoount, I will advice you deactivate it, set a stronger alphanumeric character password.

Sorry!!

Thanks sir I have been able to access my account as epik finally replied my mail.

To everyone that helped one way or another am very grateful 🙏

I had same issue, luckily for me i remembered my Epik pin as I wrote it down somewhere. Hope they respond on-time as this was around December last year.

I have sent them a mail with my pin over 10 times no single response, just the automated response

Hello Everyone

Just have a little issue, I do this business with my smartphone and my smartphone got bad, that it is now at the service center, so I have been offline for a while now. To the main issue , I found out that I have a small sale of 300 dollars on Dan. All my accounts have 2factor authenticator on, but Dan has removed it and I have been able to access Dan.com but epik is not replying me to remove it. Instead they have blocked me . I have written to their support team since three days now with consistent reminders but not response. Who knows any quick means of getting epik attention because even Twitter isn't working . Please I will be grateful for any help rendered.

Hi folks, how do you guys resolve renewal on epik? i thought they said renewal is not the problem but cashout. I have a name i am keeping and supposed expire in few days, renewed for almost 4 days now and they never do that after collecting my money just like as many cases i later saw on NP.. Seems these guys have been sold away totally and bankrupt. i learnt that FBI are or about to do some investigations of what is happening. But how did you renew if you did that successfully? am just concerned of not loosing that name cos their reply is wack and same stories i saw everywhere about facing technical issues.

It will renew, don't worry, if it was registrations I would advice you use another registrar in other not to loose the name. It seems epik don't find their registrar account with enough money making people's registration and renewal to fail.

Very good points. This particular domain is worth much more. It is in an industry that's blowing up exponentially. It is a 2 word, 7 letter domain that ends in "jobs". I can confidently sit this one out because there's a high demand for it. But, I get your point.

I felt like passing but your comment forced me to make my position known.

If an offer is not worth accepting then hold unto your name because i like your spirit. Besides if you price cheap you never get high sales. But if you price high, you either get a high sale, or a no Thankyou. So keep up with what you want.

1. You can go through my business thread here on Nairaland by clicking my profile. I've been around for a long time.

[b]2. I have been in ecurrency business for long now without any scam to my name, rather I was a victim of $450 chargeback from one [b]DAMILOLA POPOOLA
last year June. I reported it in the scam thread.

3. I haven't claimed to sale any domain here before.

4. My service here is to checkout using Paypal or card payment for those willing to buy a domain but don't know how to.

5. I have numerous exchangers here on Nairaland I have traded more than $100k successfully without issues. I can't mention names for privacy sake. To clear the air you can ask; Braindee, Omolola, Queendoris, Jidonski, Tshege, TOM, and other reputable exchangers I forgot to mention about me.

6. You can always bring escrow for protection. I accept escrows ( Wese90 or Braindee preferably).

7. Adding I and scam in the same sentence is an insult to my person.

8. DYOR

9. Like I said, I'm still a learner in domain business, I only help domainers checkout their orders via PayPal or card payment.

10. I have two domains I bought as a newbie sitting in my portfolio. I can provide screenshots for this.

11. I also have Nairalanders I have checkout for. I have screenshots to back this up too.

12. I have $70 left for checkout Incase you interested. I accept reliable escrows ( I prefer Braindee though).

13. I just checked your Moniker now and noticed it's a 2023 account with no structure or successful transactions. I made my first mistake by trying to explain my business to you.

Just got 4 domain names from him this morning and he delivered.
