Meanwhile, the word is an English word that refers to a lung disease that is otherwise known as silicosis.

Thank you OP for this write-up. Obviously this is a big crack for religious Christians to swallow. In fact greater number of believers don't have a clue what Christianity entails or it requirements. It's so sad many are so gullible and unwilling to accept solid food rather they prefer milk or lies.
What the writer is simply saying is you are to believe the bible but the bible is not the final word of God neither does it have final authority. The bible is a letter and letter kills but the Spirit gives life who is the person of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, the Holy Spirit is the final authority who search the mind of God and lead us to perfect will of God in every given circumstances. We have to believe the bible as the written word of God to guide us how to live right in this evil world. Those who elevate the bible above the instructions of the Holy Spirit does so at their perils and unknowingly rejected Christ leading. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of prophecy that we must believe and obey His words..Rev 19:10. He is everything to Christians whom we must follow His leading and without Him in your life you are not one of God's own.
Many churches intentionally omitted the relevance of the Holy Spirit in the church because it is easier to control people when they have no recourse to anyone but their pastors. Some even advocated that Holy Spirit no longer speak to anyone that when demons speaks people thinks it is the Holy Spirit. You can see how warped their minds are. So Holy Spirit is muted while demons can talk to people of God at will while He resides in them. What a confused thesis.
l counsel you to read your bible for guidance to know how to live by the LAW OF LIFE and then follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to know and do the WILL OF GOD for your life and in every situation.. Rom 8:14; Gal 5:25-26.

God bless.
Thank you so immensely for letting the Holy Spirit guide ur thinking. May God bless u more.

manchesterboy:
what the op is actually saying is that not everything in the bible is correct or true. The bible contains the word of God but not everything in the bible is the word of God. Look at how it works: The bible contain a record of words from a whole lots of people. The problem then is that many of them were spoken out of ignorance and error and are not inspired by the Holy Ghost. For instance Job when he was attacked by the devil out of ignorance thought it was God that was responsible for his problem and made the comment that God gave and has taken. Whereas it wasn't God that took Jobs blessing and health.

The point therefore is that many sayings in the bible were not divinely inspired and are therefore not the word of God. Gods word include 1) the words spoken by Jesus Christ, 2) words spoken by the apostles, 3) words spoken by the prophets. These are group of people that their words represent the word of God because they were inspired by the Holy Ghost. Words spoken by other people who were neither apostles nor prophets came from their own minds and not from God. It is therefore very wrong for Christians to take them as the word of God because they are not. However God allowed them to be recorded for a purpose. One of the major purposes is to give man the right to be wrong in what he/she believes. At the end only God is right.

Am really impressed to see ppl understand things the way they are. Some have become more holier than God Himself that they cant take anything that seem to challenge what they already kw. That is not the right way to learn. Open ur heart for more knowledge and you'll be a better person than you are. God bless us.

Shalom

Health › Breast Cancer Stories: Letter To Grammy by Psoul(op): 3:19pm On Oct 12, 2015
Dear Grammy,

When I was a child, you were a constant and beautiful force in my life. Days spent with you were precious and imagination-filled. Your love for reading, literature, and the arts have been one of the major factors that have inspired my life’s work.

If you were here today, I would talk to you about many things. I know you suffered. I felt it in my bones as a child, but didn’t really know how to respond.

I’ll never forget the day I realized you had only one breast. I’m guessing I was four or five-years-old — that day I saw how the doctors had scarred and left you bare.

My heart throbbed.

“Mom, what happened to Grammy?” I asked one day.

“What do you mean Jen?”

“You know, she only has one of those,” I pointed to my Mom’s chest. “What happened to her?”

“Oh…well she had to have it removed. Her doctor found a lump and removed it to keep her safe.”

I didn’t completely understand, but it pained me to know you had suffered.

I wish I could have comforted you when you found the lump — when you experienced the pain of going under the knife.

Born in 1908, by the time I was an adult you were already struggling with dementia. Had you been able to comprehend and answer, there were so many questions I would have asked.

I wonder if you felt ashamed the first time your husband saw you with only one breast?

Did you think of yourself as less of a woman?

Did you feel supported?

I remember your blue, blue eyes and kind smile. Your beautiful hands.

Your love for me was always so tangible. I never questioned your adoration.

I remember the last time I saw you when you were in your 90s. I arrived just in time to hold your hand into the early morning hours — before you took your last breath. With all my being, I tried to pour loving energy into your being, knowing following your death you would find wholeness again.

Inside, I can still connect deeply with the child I once was — and my desire to protect you after I discovered your wound.

Love Jen

I THINK I BUY THIS IDEA. WHAT DO U SAY TO DIS?

Since my family recently moved to the Portland area, we’ve been looking for churches to attend. Besides visiting a church, the best way to gain a feel for a church is to visit their website. Specifically, their About Us page.

Since examining church websites, I’ve noticed some pretty strange beliefs out there. Many churches have a list of beliefs that are important to them. What is the first belief on many church websites? The Bible.

On one church begins its list of beliefs like this:

The Authority of Scripture
The Nature of God
Jesus, God’s Son
The Holy Spirit
Salvation
Nature of Man (Sorry, women. You apparently don’t have nature … but if you read the description, you might decide that’s a good thing.)
The Role of the Church

Now, those are all important aspects of Christianity, and I don’t mean to pick on fellow Christians, but the order tells us what’s wrong with American Christianity.

We have elevated the Bible above God. It’s time we stop that form of idolatry. Bibliolatry has no place in Christianity. But, unfortunately, the Bible has become another god, above the Trinity, above Jesus, above the Holy Spirit.

I appreciate the passion that many “Bible believing” churches have. That passion is a good thing, but it’s misdirected. Christians shouldn’t “believe” in the Bible. We are not Biblians. We are Christians.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the Bible. It’s an important book. But it’s not a member of the Trinity. It deserves to be respected, but it shouldn’t be elevated above God.

“Bible believing churches” tend to think that “the Bible is the very Word of God – supernaturally inspired in every word and absolutely free from error in the original documents. God’s word is the final authority in all that it says. Therefore, it must be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.”

But the Bible doesn’t work that way. It contains within itself many disagreements about the nature of God and how events unfolded. For example, did Noah take two of every animal onboard his ship, as Genesis 6 claims, or did he take seven of every animal, as Genesis 7 claims? Does God require sacrifice, as Leviticus suggests, or does God require mercy and not sacrifice, as the prophet Hosea claims? Does God punish children for their parents’ mistakes, as Exodus claims, or is each generation responsible for itself, as the prophets Ezekiel and Jeremiah state? Did Jesus overturn the tables in the Temple at the end of his ministry, as the synoptic Gospels claim, or did he do it at the beginning of his ministry, as the Gospel of John claims?

Those who believe in the Bible’s inerrancy will do all kinds of interpretive gymnastics to put the round peg of the Bible into the square hole of inerrancy, but it just doesn’t fit. That’s because it’s not meant to fit.

The Bible is a document written by human beings who tried to recognize what God was doing in their lives. But it’s not inerrant. Interestingly, if the Bible were inerrant you would think it would tell us. It simply doesn’t use those terms. The Bible never says, “Hi! I’m the Bible. I’m the inerrant Word of God. Believe in me!”

There are disagreements that run throughout the Bible. Those disagreements are one of the things that I love about the Bible! The Bible models for us how to wrestle with God and ask questions about faith.

The Bible contains human testimony about how God works in the world, but it is not God’s inerrant Word. The Bible points beyond itself to God, and in the New Testament, to the God revealed in Jesus. The Bible even claims that Jesus is the Word of God, not the Bible itself.

Jesus warned people about elevating the Bible above himself. “You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that testify on my behalf. Yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”

Jesus claimed that the scriptures are limited. You cannot have eternal life by believing in the Bible. In fact, when we elevate the Bible above God, it blocks us from our only access to eternal life.

The Bible is important, but we are not Biblians. We are Christians, called to come to Jesus.

That’s why you should run from “Bible believing churches.” Churches aren’t meant to believe in the Bible. They are meant to believe in the God revealed through Jesus.

Nairaland General › Dying Girl’s Hidden Message On Mirror Stuns Her Family by Psoul(op): 2:35pm On Oct 12, 2015
We were completely moved by the UK’s Athena Orchard, 13, who died of cancer. Her parents were shocked to find a 3,000 word message adhered to the back of her mirror.

Because her words are so profound, her family decided to share it. Here is the letter for you to read:

“Happiness depends upon ourselves. Maybe it’s not about the happy ending, maybe it’s about the story.article-2648394-1E76151700000578-901_306x844
The purpose of life is a life of purpose. The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.
Happiness is a direction not a destination. Thank you for existing. Be happy, be free, believe, forever young. You know my name, not my story.

You have heard what I’ve done, but not what I’ve been through. Love is like glass, looks so lovely but it’s easy to shatter.
Love is rare, life is strange, nothing lasts and people change. Every day is special, so make the most of it, you could get a life ending illness tomorrow so make the most of every day. Life is only bad if you make it bad.
If someone loves you, then they wouldn’t let you slip away no matter how hard the situation is. Remember that life is full of ups and downs.

Never give up on something you can’t go a day without thinking about. I want to be that girl who makes the bad days better and the one that makes you say my life has changed since I met her!

Love is not about how much you say I love you – it’s about how much you can prove it’s true. Love is like the wind, you can feel it but you can’t see it. I’m waiting to fall in love with someone I can open my heart to.

Love is not about who you can see spending your future with, it’s about who you can’t see spending your life without… Life is a game for everyone but love is the prize. Only I can judge me.

Sometimes love hurts. Now I’m fighting myself. Baby I can feel your pain. Dreams are my reality. It hurts but it’s okay, I’m used to it.
Don’t be quick to judge me, you only see what I choose to show you… you don’t know the truth. I just want to have fun and be happy without being judged.

This is my life, not yours, don’t worry about what I do. People gonna hate you, rate you, break you, but how strong you stand, that’s what makes you… you! There’s no need to cry because I know you’ll be by my side.”

Romance › Married Couple, This Is Worth Reading. by Psoul(op): 3:10pm On Oct 01, 2015
My husband is an Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature, and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.
Three years of courtship and now, two years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings, I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband is my complete opposite, his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about love.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.
“Why?” he asked, shocked. “I am tired, there are no reasons for everything in the world!” I answered. He kept silent the whole night, seems to be in deep thought with a lighted cigarette at all times. My feeling of disappointment only increased, here was a man who can’t even express his predicament, what else can I hope from him? And finally he asked me:” What can I do to change your mind?”

Somebody said it right, it’s hard to change a person’s personality, and I guess, I have started losing faith in him. Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered : “Here is the question, if you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind, Let’s say, I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death, will you do it for me?” He said :” I will give you your answer tomorrow….” My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting, underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes…. My dear, “I would not pick that flower for you, but please allow me to explain the reasons further..” This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading.

“When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, and you cry in front of the screen, I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs. You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you. You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city, I have to save my eyes to show you the way. You always have the cramps whenever your “good friend” approaches every month, I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom. You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes, I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails, and help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand… and tell you the color of flowers, just like the color of the glow on your young face… Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do… I could not pick that flower yet, and die.. ”

My tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting… and as I continue on reading… “Now, that you have finished reading my answer, if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread and fresh milk… I rush to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle and loaf of bread….

Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does, and I have decided to leave the flower alone…
That’s life, and love. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness.

Love shows up in all forms, even very small and cheeky forms, it has never been a model, it could be the most dull and boring form.. . flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship. Under all this, the pillar of true love stands… and that’s our life… Love, not words win arguments…

If it takes one man to go to an evil shrine to tie another man or an entire generation, It will also take another man to go to the Alter of Almighty God to loose and set the man or his entire generation free.

You may not need to bring the whole of your family members to perform family deliverance. A good man of God can perform this in the Alter. How ready u r to follow God or your already existing good relationship with God can help the man of God carry out this work more efficiently.

Any "man of God" demanding huge amount of money to do this for you may not really be a true man of God. Let us not allow these so called men of God act on our gullibility and keep ripping huge sum of money from us.

Please I have a Sharp AR-5516 photocopier which I also use for both photocopying and for printing purposes. Recently, i started noticing this issue with the main tray of the machine.
Anytime I print through the main tray, a large portion of the document will cut off and it also prints as if the page orientation was set to landscape even when it was set to portrait.

I have tried setting the page orientation both in the computer and on the photocopying machine, but this error has refused to go. This does not happen when I print through the bypass tray. It prints well through bypass.

Using either the Main Tray or the Bypass for photocopying does not result to any error only when used for printing.
Please does anyone has idea of what code to use in clearing this error? Your help is needed as soon as possible. Thanks.
