Adverts / Recent Graduates Why Dont You Choose Entrepreneurship Over Unemployment by pufectskin: 6:11pm On Aug 04, 2012
So here is the deal, there is a new brand of sanitary towel in naija.
We are trying to break into the market with this product and as a fast moving consumer
good, we are positive you will do well selling this.
So instead of looking for experienced distributors, we have decided it is best to use this as an opportunity to create jobs/entrepreneurial men/women. So here are the requirements; each person would have to buy 4 cartons of Sanitary towels from us (each carton contains 24) and you are to sell either directly to individual users or to retail stores. You make about 15 to 20% profit margin.
We are looking to create this opportunity for 1000 graduates in all.
As time goes on, and you feel more comfortable or have more capital, you can buy as many cartons as you like. We would provide you with marketing materials - tee shirts, facecaps, flyers, notebooks, pens and posters.
You should not be shy. Be able to sell and Market very well. And most of all, should have an entrepreneurial mindset.
This NOT A SCAM. Email me at hr@sothesltd.com for more info.

This guy is stupid. And it has nothg to do with his age. There r younger ppl who r less silly. With d way he is going, his fame n fortune won't last. And we all would be witnesses. Nobody treats any1 like this (disrepects his gf, assault ppl, just overall stinking attitude), and lives not to regret it. He is being fooled by every1 around him singing his praises when all he has is a one hit...dey lll all b gone in no time when he has squandered all he has away with this nasty attitude of his.

Business / Re: Why Is Seun Not As Rich As Mark Zuckerberg? by pufectskin: 7:06pm On Aug 03, 2012
I think given Seun's conservative personality, he is happy with the steady growth of Nairaland. He is making more than enough money as it is right now (enough for him and a potential nuclear family in his future). Not every1 wants to be very big instantly. Sometimes, entrepreneurs enjoy the slow and steady growth curve because it is a process of learning and discovery. I personally, I have my own business too (website) and I could do a lot more marketing to grow faster if I wanted to, but I like the calmness of things right now (since I am atleast making enuff money). As time goes on, I ll roll out more campaigns and things to accommodate more growth. Peace out

Romance / Re: Must A Guy Pay A Lady's Transport Fare When She Visits? by pufectskin: 8:00pm On Jul 31, 2012
Yes, u r absolutely correct. Its a black girl thing around d world. I wonder y though? I rich white chick would let u hv her as long as u r from a similarly rich family. She won't expect gas money. Lol. But u ll have to treat her to a nice time though, in general, in d relationship. White ppl like adventure, thrill, and stuff. Blacks r soooo poor or generally surrounded by soooo many poor ppl dat their sense of worth boils down to price tags...dats my 2 cents on dis issue. But I am probably wrong..
kojeiwa: It's same thing in the States. They usually expect fuel (gas) money to fill their tank. Not just Naija girls, it's a black girls mentality around the world.

Romance / Re: Must A Guy Pay A Lady's Transport Fare When She Visits? by pufectskin: 7:29pm On Jul 31, 2012
It depends on d type of girls u hang out with. I personally find it undignified to ask for petty amounts and things. I just wasn't brought up that way. Normally, I have my bf pay for stuff like vacations, hotel bills, shopping if it is high end, expensive restaurants, surprises(duh? Lol), and high budget gifts for bdays, holidays etc. But I cannot stoop so low as to expect him pay some flimsy 3000 or 500naira for a stop by at an icecream shop or fuel. I don't even know how to ask for such petty favors. I ld even pay for us both or have us do it 50-50 as I hate discussions about some petty transactions. In my "arrogant" opinion, it is not classy to ask or expect ppl to pay for ur daily low budget needs. I guess it all boils down to what low/high budget is to some ppl. Paying a flimsy amount for ur hair or buyin credit (anoda thing I absolutely detest) doesn't mean d guy cares about u anymore dan...I ll stop here for now
Romance / Re: Must A Guy Pay A Lady's Transport Fare When She Visits? by pufectskin: 6:16pm On Jul 31, 2012
Depends on d kind of chicks u r rolling with. It has never even crossed my mind to ask for such petty things ever. I just wasn't brought up to think dat way. Like wat d hell is dat? I am tooo dignified to expecting a guy to pay a couple of bucks for dis and dat. What I do expect from a guy is to pay fofor vacations, hotel bills, meals at an expensive restaurant and high budget surprises n bday gifts (e.g diamonds type gifts, high end lingerie from places like bouxavenue, and gourmet type exceptional favors). In fact I don't like anything popular or common. If we stop by at an icecream shop to buy icecream n couple of cakes, I don't mind payin for both or doiin it 50-50. As far as I am concerned all dis silly transport fees and ish are cheap ass hungry acting undignified behavior. I ll b highly ashamed of myself if I ever stooped dat low.
acidtalk: I used to think demanding of finance of financial burdens were mainly traits seen in ladies in the university or lesser status but I was know to be wrong.

Even a lady who earns far more than you is ready to collect all your life savings and add it up to her own if you are not careful.

Whenever a lady visits, either she brings her own car or not, they usually always have this expectation of a guy paying for their transport fare or refueling their tank.

Some ask out people she comes over, some will ask you when leaving, while the shy and mature ones won't ask but as soon as you offer her, she grabs the money with both hands and even ready to use her toes too to hold on to it.

Save it people, this doesn't have to do with dating a poor girl or not, it is almost common amongst ladies of all status and caliber. From the students, business owners, bankers, Doctors and children of the very wealthy.

Most (read well I said most and not all) always want the guy to make up for the transport fare they used to come over to his place.

BUnch of SCUMBAGS in government. Why do poor people always misbehave when they get wealth. OBJ's wife from ABEBE family didnt dare try all these rubbish (despite her being born into a wealthy, or atleast well to do family). What is wrong with this lunatic of a woman we have as our first lady? Yes, I called her LUNATIC. BITE ME!
bizgynbala: Jonathan and his confused cabinet still won't fail to amaze one. At this period where the nation is almost nose diving into bankruptcy they still went ahead and purchased new cars. Has the money being appropriated in the budget or since he feels he is the President he can go around spending tax payers money with reckless abandon I pity this country.

Guys be careful with all dese mixes u r using. Is the lady mixing things a certified Chemist (studied chemistry), pharmacist or Dermatologist? Just because you are getting the results you want now doesn't mean there are no long term bad side effects. Ever heard of Melanoma? Skin cancer?
You are better off buying products that are certified by nafdac or d food and drug administration of any foreign country as safe. There is a lady that sells products from the US and they r safe. You shld try her products instead of all these mixes.

I don't think Nigerians have reached d level of consciousness dat americans have. Arguing with these ppl is like arguing with a brick wall. They just cannot get it. Even an average teenager in America or lil kid knows his rights and would is very aware of his power in society irrespective of his level in society. In Nigeria, ppl r too prayerful and its like they don't even know what they r doing. They go to church yet commit crimes, d elders tell u not to lie or steal, but they r d same ones duping and stealing in govt offices. Its just a crazy society. Since I got back to dis country last year, its been culture shock after culture shock. I have never seen a more confused ppl.

Culture / Re: Is Marriage Still Important In Modern Society/Culture? I Dont Think So. by pufectskin: 10:53pm On Jul 19, 2012
Why do we feel things r western influenced all d time? Yes many things are; but the truth is that ccultures evolve. Europe and America weren't always pro-divorce...dey had connservative cultures just like us in d past...but as with technology and development, their socio-cultural dymamics r highly evolved compared to us...go figure! As we progress as a society, some things r gonna b put behind us. I am sorry but with divorce rate increasing daily, it is obvious Nigerians r clearly marrying for d wrong reasons...imagine just marrying cos I am from a good home or very pretty or cos my friends r married or cos he drives a nice car, he is cute...what happened to I feel so at ease with him/her and can share anything with him/her...but will u feel dat way 10yrs from now? And if u feel dat way, wat about ur partner? So u know who u love, but do u know who loves u? its tricky and I don't have d answers..its just a debate anyway.
odumchi:

You're right. It also depends on what one accepts as the definition of marriage since Western culture is having an increasingly stronger influence on things like this. Is marriage the thing that you do in your ancestral town, the thing that you do in a churhc, both, or the thing that you do in a state court? Some marry for love while others marry for visas.

Culture / Is Marriage Still Important In Modern Society/Culture? I Dont Think So. by pufectskin: 10:01pm On Jul 19, 2012
marriage is no longer important for the society becouse they dont think or want the relathionship to last forever...only those who want to stay forever get married
I personally detest having to be married to someone for years...I mean how can one honeststly live with one person for years and years and years. I ld b bored to death.
And click the link below for more on statistics showing worldwide that less and less women are keen on marriage...its a worldwide thing so don't dare bring that african culture bullcrap here. I don't wanna see it!
http://advice.eharmony.com/blog/2011/10/28/is-marriage-losing-importance-around-the-world/

Girls, try to work hard for urself. Dere r tons of opportunities in naija to make tons of money. Don't let married friends (most of which are miserable with their cheating husbands or whose mess they have to clean up after) or society bully u into something you are not prepared for. Have u seen d divorce rates in naija lately? Trippled from 2010.
I personally have my own business and in my early 20s...just finished NYSC and business is great. Make money, travel wide...dere r so many places to see ppl to meet, opportunities to discover, kids to adopt, lives to change and ppl to employ. Life is so much more about so many things besides marriage...peace out!

@Op, u have a great business up for sale but u r selling urself short by stating all the challenges and hardly stating any benefit to the potential buyer.
The fact that you don't keep inventory means less financial risk and dat should be a selling point yet u r presenting it as a problem here. If you really want these to sell, I ld say; repackage the offer by giving us reasons why this is a good opportunity; how profitable was/is it for you? On average, how many customers did you have per day?, etc. You ll get better responses this way (in my arrogant opinion).
