Is it a good time to enter Eternal oil and Dunlop at their current prices? Do you see them doing another 25%? I currently have N1million to invest before i secure more funds.

No clue on Eterna Oil.

I think Dunlop is about fairly priced now if they will meet up with the profit projections in the prospectus of their last PO.

Pumping,

my banker just sent me a form again for a nonsense extremely cheap pp. It has been on since last year and closed but apparently some people booked more units that they could afford. So those particular units are available. I have it on a small icon on the bottom of the screen. How can I upload it for those who like sub N1 shares? I want to quickly do it now before I log out.

I have recieved the documents and uploaded them to megaupload.

I have returned by email the megaload link to both documents so you can paste them on the forum.

Thanks for sharing.

Cos no one wants to sell.I think only Fidelity and Afribank(not sure) have been on offer while on TS in recent times

Not quite.

- First Inland Bank
- AP
- Afribank
- Crusader (keeps fluctuating though)

Probably others too.

If a stock remains on net bid all through TS, you can be almost certain of some run after TS.

Being on net bid some of the time is no indication. As an example many folks have Wema (including myself) that they'd like to sell, but have grown tired of sending the sell mandate to the broker since selling is tight. If a net bid surfaces all of a sudden for Wema, some of those folks will quickly send in sell orders which may return the stock to net offer.

UBA Daily Stock bid attached

Staco has been on strong offer some few days now, does anyone know if the coy is having any prob? or is it just part of the general downward trend in the insurance sector?

Abeg help with any info, I adviced my collegue to buy and now she looks at me with 1 very bad eye everyday.
I bought some myself because I felt the coy has good fundamentals, but i hope all is right. Others are loosing too but its own has been at maximum points daily.

I don't know the price at which Staco was bought. If it was towards the last bottom out price of around N5.51, don't worry at all. I think the depression here is due to the fact that it is due to go on TS soon.  However, if it ends up in TS at a reasonable low price, it will end up on net bid like Standard Alliance Insurance which went on TS at N4.69 and a forward PE of around 28.

A week or two ago the price dipped to around N5.51 enough to move the forward PE to around 32 just a bit higher than that of Standard insurance. I was waiting for further depression but it spiked. It is on the way down again.

These are the two insurance companies I was referring to in my posts last week or so. I believe these can be good canditates for post TS run.

Caveat Emptor.

@All

I bought the japaul oil at N10.70, it did rise to N15.00 but GREED didn't allow me to sell them because my stock broker speculated N22.00 on the damn stock. Any IDEA? Now it's 12.94,   sad  angry

For me, I don't think this price drop is specific to Japaul. Just a lot of profit taking on the NSE in the last 2 weeks or so. Hope for some stability but keep your ear on the ground for when the shares will be listed.

I do not consider your buying price that bad. Japaul slide will halt soon.

Not so sure about that, what of PO sellers.

PO subscribers are not able to sell yet. The shares are not yet listed so there can be a temporary support before these guys come in to play.

He said "of recent",which I suspect to mean that he bought @ over 10 at least. My advice is same as Mr Risky's just be patient awhile else you may regret any panic sale,I'm so sure you will.

Timing is the key point here. He must sell before the Japaul shares are listed and folks are in a position to sell. This is very key. We are talking of over 200% profit available to be locked in by PO subscribers and they will pounce.

Yes, there is no need to sell in a panic because for now Japaul will probably not make it back to N10 before some support even if only temporary. At least he can try selling when the stock is not on a free fall.

Please, I ask in the name of God. Is there anyone here that has his/her radar on Japaul Oil? I bought the stock of recent and it's been losing blood for over 1 week now. What do I do?

You should share the price at which you bought so folks can share ideas on this one. Timing can be your saviour here.

At least to be able to break even or make a tiny profit and this depends on if a mini bull run at least is round the corner.

SEC has released Japual's IPO allotmnet including supplemental. Read below

http://www.sec.gov.ng/allotmentposition.htm

Even if Japaul beats the FY 2007 PAT forecast by 50%, you are looking at a stock with a 2007 FY PE of 70! I warned about it a few weeks ago and someone dey take style yab me when the thing appreciate.

My advice? Take your lesson the hard way; never CICO an overpriced stock! Get out because I don't see Japaul being worth more than N8 (but then what do I know )

And I remember someone complaining about being adviced to ditch the stock 3 weeks ago on this thread because it gained another 10% after the recommendation. Well, that 10% has now been wiped out and some.

I was rightly called "prophet of doom" a couple of weeks ago but I know a lot folks are already seeing red from the behaviour of the market in the last 2 weeks.

Everyone is buying so I must buy too. It's not important if the stock has already gained 100% before you hop on forgeting that those that bought at 50% discount just a few days earlier will soon come in to take profit.

A friend bought CAPOIL on his broker's advice this week for 11 naira. He now wants to know if CAPOIL may be turning around soon (medicine after death). Any ideas?

@AKTOPGUN, why do you think CICOers should get off the CCNN boat?

And for people aboard the Berger floatship, are the good times over already?

If today's data is correct, it lost 5% today. The rise of this stock is not based on fundamentals. It's mainly sentiment and rumour. When profit takers land, the depression can be major so you want to get out early.

Berger has appreciated over 100% in the last 2 months alone. That is a long party already abi wetin you think? grin grin grin

Someone should notice how greed is playing out on the NSE. Once the price of a stock starts rising, holders don't even bother about an exit point and everyone wants to join without considering that what goes up for no reason will surely come down.

After a while the stocks becomes incredibly overpriced until some profit takers can't take it anymore and strike. Those still waiting for 500% appreciation are then caught napping.

Just a question. Why is Berger paints N23? This kin train must not jam person o.

Please people what do you guys think of the BGL Private placement. I got an email from one of BGL brokers who said minimum amou nt to invest is N7,000,000.00 ie N7 each share. He claims the intend to list their share for N30.

Please what do u guys think of this

I was also approached. I think the concern is when they are going to list. In the PP document they said they will list in 24 months. This can easily spill to 4/5 years. A long time to tie down at least N7M and factor in uncertainty.

For those using CSCS online service, has anyone been having problems seeing the details of their purchases? I bought some stocks this week and while they reflect in my account, whenever I click on them to see the purchase date and price it is blank.

This never used to happen before

I see this all the time. Possibly this happens with cross deals in which the broker is moving the stock from one broker to another within the same firm. The funny thing is that you will still get a trade alert.

AktopCAndle, kindly light some candles make person see road!

No candle necessary.

The high, low, open and close for the stock has been the same for the past 7 trading days at least so one can only detect an up trend. Eventually it must do an Aiico sha and being an illiquid stock when high volumes surface selling can be a real problem.

Fundamentally it still looks okay but this is based on only one year's result so some level of risk there.

Pumping

I sought clarification from NigerianSecurities and they promptly replied me.

Their focus seems to be on tools and ensuring that at the end of the day their tools have accurate data. As a result they make it a point to pull data from NSE several times during the day the final one been 4-5 hours after trading is complete.

The developed this system cause they have observerd in times past that final results have changed even hours after trading as ended as that is the only way they can ensure their data is correct for their tools.

Yesterday for instance they claimed that NSE came up with a final position and they had two excel extracts from NSEe that were different. The latest one was what they updated their site with much later.

No vex my broda. I've just tracked down your query.

This one is simple. There are some insurance stocks with good fundamentals and low relative nominal price on TS or TS bound.

Collecting some for post TS run is a good idea since they will be the first set to be TS-Proof and in the insurance sector.

I think they should be able to live with high nominal price and 10B outstanding shares supported with luvly-jubly results though. If they are generating the level of profits they are the fundamentals will be shot to pieces with 16b outstanding shares. As long as they placate us withreasonable dividends and may be bonus isuues once in about 4 years i don't think anyone will complain. Just that no more RO-RO for this one!

The high nominal price of Nestle doesnt seem to have impacted the stock adversely and OandOalthough we know say that one get oil after him name grin grin grin grin grin grin

I won't compare with Nestle or Oando or AP because these guys have relatively few shares outstanding. None even has up to a billion shares outstanding.

If Intercontinental doubles PAT right now, the forward PE will just be about the same with that of UBA and Oceanic.

Dividends are not doing anything for this high cap companies right now but maybe things will change. See NB with declaring a divindend of 195k and buyers are not moved.

Bonus will definitely do the trick but like you said this will require some waiting for.
