Gerrard59:How long have you been in Japan? I’m surprised you plan to come back since I’m used to seeing you, Tensa, etc doom and gloom about the future of Nigeria (Islamisation, northern rule and civil war, etc). ![]() Or do you feel a bit more optimistic about our future? |
Gerrard59:Yes, I remember seeing a lady like that on Twitter. Last time I saw her profile (don’t remember her name), she was based in Nigeria. Back to japa prospects; if one can learn Japanese, what would you rate the chances for study or work visa, in comparison to Chinese too? I could try Chinese too, but I’m considering the supposition that both languages are quite difficult for English speakers, therefore my personal inclination for Japanese might make it more likely to stick to the long process. That, and browsing through some Reddit threads, people seem to think it’s better to live in Japan (putting aside China’s better economic prospects). |
Gerrard59:Hopefully, it’ll happen sooner rather than later or never. My workplace always tells us to learn Chinese or French, but my heart says Japanese ![]() Well, you’re technically right. K-drama seems more popular in Nigeria. But I had a virtual meeting in my workplace earlier this year, with hundreds of people in attendance. The organizer asked which country we would like to visit. A surprising number of people mentioned Japan for their anime and culture. It’s kinda surreal. Most times I check TikTok, I see at least one Nigerian girl that loves Korean drama moving there for studies. They have relatively good grasp of the language too. Dey don carry am for head ehn ![]() |
Gerrard59:Nice to know. With the growing number of anime fans and Japarians in Nigeria, I think there could be enough interest if they open centres. But as you said, there’s always the negative rep Nigerians have created for ourselves abroad. It’s too bad. I did not see Cameroon on this list. https://www.jlpt.jp/e/application/overseas_list.html Oh well, I think I might go ahead with the Japanese foundation site I found. |
Ok, talking about the language stuff, I just tried looking up the JPLT as someone mentioned earlier in the thread…and I noticed there doesn’t seem to be any centre for taking the exam or lesson tutorials in Nigeria? This is a bit odd to me because it seems as though we have centres for HSK (Chinese) and TOPIK (Korean) from a quick search. So, why’s it only Japanese that isn’t available. Any alternatives? I’ve been thinking about studying Japanese from scratch next year. I found this platform (https://minato-jf.jp/Home/Back#CourseList), not sure how suitable it is. |
airsaylongcome:Like in the interviews or he indicates so in cold emails? |
tensazangetsu20:Seriously? Abeg, make Obi win for court. This country is looking finished. |
^No need to download the legacy part btw. It's just the old version of the course. |
stankelz:Downloadly.net. 1. Open the relevant course on the website and you will see the download links for each file. 2. What I do is to copy the link address of any file I want to download with right click, then I paste it into this software called Free Download Manager. I believe you can download it on downloadly.net as well. 3. After I download it, I simply open it with WinRAR and extract to a specific folder (my Videos folder). And that's it. |
There's the frontendmentor website for challenges like this as well. |
Oh wow, I just checked again and Aìrtm is actually back as a valid means of withdrawal. This is great. |
Hm. Nice and informative. A friend has had his account suspended for months now since he tried to login with two phones. I'll have to show him this. But what platform are you using to withdraw now that Aírtm no longer works? @Fremantle |
I already checked weeks ago and couldn't find the option to register with Nigeria as well. I haven't checked the app though. |
nadisms:I don't know o. I was trying too, but the owners always say it's only for US residents at the moment. |
It's saturated for entry-level devs. Just check Reddit and you'll see CS graduates with internships applying for 100+ jobs and begging for any kind of help they can get. Not easy at all. There's some seniors that make dedicated Slack/Discord channels for juniors to refer/recommend each other and get jobs, though I have only seen for the US. Anyway, both learning and getting a job doesn't seem to be easy at all. Let's just do our best and hope it favors us in the end. |
Wow, I see blockchain enthusiasts everywhere on Twitter so I didn't think developers would be that scarce. |
kdfinest:Hmm, I have no idea how to go about that. Check their FAQs or YouTube if necessary. |
kdfinest:You don't need to fund anything. Read the previous posts in the thread, especially by Fremantle, for better understanding. |
Very nice, this thing is not easy. Is it hosted on GitHub? |
This one is piracy and doesn't require you to purchase their courses, but just use downloadly.net to search for your preferred courses and unzip with WinRAR. You have to download them first. |
Fremantle:I've not done any tasks on the site for like two weeks now since I cannot withdraw to Áirtm. I checked their subreddit and they didn't give any good reasons. If someone can explain the process for Litecóin, that would be really appreciated. |
What is this bót doing. Anyway, Áirtm is no longer working as a withdrawal option. I don't know why they removed it. Who has successfully used Skríll. |
Stormtrooper11:Did not work for me as well when I was trying to learn Sass. I just followed this from stack overflow. I faced the similar issue in my local HTML Project. You should make following changes:I think I tweaked some things, I am not even sure again but it was this post that helped me. This was for CSS though, so I'm not sure if it'll work for your issue. |
pressley06:Wait till the end of the month, there will be an influx of tasks. That's usually when I make the most from SEO tasks. It's been like this for the past couple of months. First three weeks for the month are very dry. |
Cyril009:Lol, na the bumbum attract you ni. ![]() It's a Japanese horror/mystery novel series called Ring, divided into three major books. Ring -> Loop -> Spiral. Focuses on several 'main' characters, but the ghost lady in the picture is the source of the mystery. Heard there's other short stories, but haven't read them yet. |
If money is not a problem, why don't you try those dedicated internet providers like Spectranet and such. I heard they're supposed to be pretty fast. |
chukwuebuka65:Yeah, I think that would be better although I am not sure the requirement is that stringent. |
I've seen freshly self-taught devs with Udemy certificates landing remote jobs on Twitter. Funny thing is that one of them claimed to have no experience on his CV and also wrote that he learned from Udemy. Also had generic projects that we're advised not to have on our portfolio (quote generators, tic tac toe, etc). So I guess their certificates are valued enough. Although the guy had knowledge of DSA sha. |
Am I the only one that can't view the employers' names for the SEO tasks anymore?
|
Bleach opening has a couple of spoilers for the manga. Anime-only watchers were expecting Grimmjow. ![]() nani667:Hold up, I've read this novel series. Is it being adapted into an anime. |
You can download Udemy courses from downloadly.net and unzip with WinRAR. I guess from Jonas Schmedtmann; there's some extra details in his CSS courses that I personally like. Combine with w3schools or a book tho. |
