eji2015: Hello, please i need your advise and honest opinion on this. I have recently gotten a tech job in portugal and am been offered a salary of 2400 euro. The company is going to sponsor relocation to portugal. I have a wife and 2 kids. Do you think salary of 2400euro is a good salary for a family of 4?
Job location is lisbon.
Take it still as a tech, you can do side gigs and make money
batistutajulio: ?? You saw my post up?? I like to make recommendations for some good devs I know for an entry level Java, how can I help them forward their app to Interswitch.
I will create an Airtable to collect resumes for people, I will update here
emmyN: Okay. The reason I asked is because most entry level positions at Nigerian companies are always requiring two to three years of experience. I wouldn't consider myself an entry level dev if I had three years experience.
1 Year is okay, as long as you have done something with Java or at least know Java enough with Spring boot. training is expensive, so self-trained is more preferred, which is why BootCamps are sponsored to save companies the cost of training.
batistutajulio: I replied to her for an increase to 400 EUR/Month and they are preparing my contract as a Java intern next week. do you think it is okay?
Guys, they are looking to forward to working with me and I am looking forward too. can't wait to become a full time employee!!! Europe here I come.
That's 270k Monthly(black market) that's not bad, take it and keep studying Java, read on Java Design Patterns, Java Optionals and Java collections, all the best
That's 117k naira monthly in my opinion not bad, but the pay is low, but regardless take it,
It will be a Java job experience, remote company experience and from there you can learn enough for the next job. take it, you could also be referred for other projects on the side from colleagues if you do a very good job. I am helping my foreign colleague with his side project for cash.
jbreezy: So I asked for people’s advice on going for a senior FE role in this topic https://www.nairaland.com/7349413/got-invited-senior-frontend-developer . So I went for it and thought it would be fair to give you all feedback. So I got there, 5 minutes before the asserted time. A cozy and beautiful environment. To cut the story short, I was given a laptop and was asked to open the technical assessment test session where I was asked to consume an API from an endpoint, which was restricted by CORS. Then build a table and spread informations from the database across it. The api was paginated, so I have to make it 10 number of users per page. Add a button to navigate through the pages. Add a working search input too. Easy pizzy right? 1hr 30mins was the time given. But unfortunately, they said the UI should be styled with Ant Design which I wasn’t familiar with. So I styled it with just Vanilla CSS. And then, I was later told it’s going to be fully on-site. Omo, that one off me small. But let’s see how it goes, maybe the pay may attract me, if they fortunately get back to me. But thanks to y’all for the advice. I feel so fulfilled to go.
My experience with women has taught me never to let women know your full money, your mom, sis or babe will always feel entitled to their male's money, Son, brother or husband.
detectivejones: With what the country has turned into you're not even worried that she could be in trouble or sick, your thought is that she's with a man nawao. People's heads are really messed up walahi.
Social media has conditioned everyone. Though it could be true too, it happens.
LocalStandard1: Thank you bro. Seems VS Code is the only IDE that runs all the languages. In that case I will use each one for its own language. I have Pytharm and Jupyter note book already, Clion is a paid IDE.
Oh in that case, Download Intelli J Community Edition, it comes with plugins for each of those, any IDE can run any language as long as the Language Service is installed.
LocalStandard1: tensazangetsu20, Fourpockets, chukwuebuka65, GREATIGBOMAN, qtguru, RepoMan007, etc. Pls help me, I need to know a good IDE to run these languages together, so I can switch from one to the other more easily. My VS Code has become slow and problematic. The languages are not the issue for me currently, running them is. To clarify, I've been learning for sometime now, I just want to start hands on practical now. Thank you.
LocalStandard1: My biggest head ache now is getting vs code to run all these languages without complications. If you know a better IDE that can run all the languages without issues pls share.
Right now learning the languages isn't the issue, I have conquered basic Python, C++ and JavaScript no problem. I just want an IDE to be able to traverse them easily.
C++ I will advise using CLion Python use PyCharm JavaScript use WebStorm
VSCode is not bad, but nothing compares to Jetbrain IDE it's native, fast tons of developmental tools ,everything you need within a single environment.
