Karleb:windows or Linux ? |
Karleb:Sorry i forgot to add that Twitter Space is not on my app |
Karleb:I will stick to Google meet, but we can prepare topics for next week so we can discuss. What should be the topic ? |
nowpresence:For Frontend I use whatever framework is assigned to me, I know JS to an extent. Currently we are starting small but later we will have rooms for interns. There is alot of work on our hands first. But join the weekly meeting we want to create @Karleb |
Arabmoniq:You don't know phone, there is no comparison go for the samsung |
missimelda01:My babe is, trying to get her jobs on Ui/ux do you freelance remotely as one ? but I also do UI/UX but not as deep as you guys. Do you use Upworks ? |
SmartPolician:Same here, I just used it to focus on my company from home, once I get TV na to dey play small game and watch movies when done from work , but do you go out or do exercise at home ? |
Adebaba1:How much ? |
1. How long you have been doing remote work 4 years working from home 2. Time Zone of Work/Nigerian Time 10AM - 5pm 3. Current Pay A lot 4. Type ie permanent or temp worker Permanent Contract Worker ( As long as I don't get sacked) 5. Duration of Work if temp work N/A 6. Your Area of Specialization(Your line of work): Svelte Development / Frontend at work 7. Remote Work sites you got your job: Andela, Upworks, LinkedIn and Angeljobs 8. Your Nigerian Internet Experience Fiberone, 24/7 at 10Mbps , I have MTN as backup and Spectranet (expired) Internet is very fast for me. 9. Recommendations for those looking for Remote Jobs LinkedIn, work on a small project and advertise on your github join a community. Study Algorithm and Data Structure, also build a small company and work on products, eventually someone will be intrested in your project if it has values. But for me coming up with Startup Ideas is hard for me, I only know how to come up with ideas for platforms or extending platforms and there is money there, but it takes alot of time to code. |
He gave us Money for Efiko, when we were working on a mobile app, the guy really champions local development. |
All4good:I need at least another person to talk on something I cannot talk for 1 hr. 30mins / 30mins |
Nana264:No I don't build WordPress website, only development of Plugin and anything to extend WordPress. I prefer to use Processwire for building php websites. They support more PHP features than WordPress |
Nana264:For simplle php stuff like my website and all I use whogohost For other applications, I prefer to use upCloud, they just give me an empty linux instance and I setup everything and also Digital Ocean too, they are not bad either. |
islamics:Tes but in the demo folder do not use gif, it takes too long to download because it shows animation one is 10.3mb and the other in the galleria project is 62mb, just take snapshot of the app of each page. Because unless I build your Android App I won't know what the image looks like and a detailed readme works. I used to have screenshot but I mistakenly deleted my github and restored it and lost alot of images. They help, you don't have a proper readme, remember no one has time to go through code to understand what was built. but good work, you have a lot of projects though , take advantage of aesthetics |
Etinosa1234:Don't take this personal but I will advice you spend time in Android learning Fancy UI/UX and Custom Controls for Good Android UI, if you show client that work, chances are you will not find the jobs you are looking for. Go to Youtube and look for Custom UI Android tutorials. All the best |
Karleb:I am not ashamed to say this, but I really have no idea how to know if I have Twitter spaces, I know I can join but not sure how to host one. I am open to learning how to do such. |
Khiz:100k won't get you a good laptop maybe Celeron or less, a used THinkPad is your best bet for that range |
My advice is always to build something easier to prove to a client. I create a Github of every idea i have and work on it and also learn how to put yourself out there. It is not easy at first but all the best. @tensazangetsu20 @karleb Let's do a weekly meeting I feel this will help out. I get busy but I want to make time for this. |
ashybabs:See this one, everybody is surviving |
Cheap Phone => Quantity not Quality some MTK though have some decent GPU for cheap prices. |
I checked and most of the themes are good, but there are some things I want in mine, that's why I want to do a custom awesome WM. |
whs1:AST it was built to compile and translate to another source, modification sounds easy but I assume there's alot of code and you don't always want to assume, however some IDE have gotten so good that they have the ability to help with that, better at source code level than during compilation. |
Deicide:I actually forgot thanks |
This is my advice, someone should create Slack and you guys become a community , and be sharing with each others, you will be more gingered to engage in development that alone. Because what you are facing someone else is, that is my honest advice, I am notorious for abandoning such if not I will have done it. You guys can set a group leader too. Honest Advice. |
I have thought of taking up a personal task, I want to try LuaScript and see how one can configure awesomewm to his own taste. I have awesomewm and do not like the current theme I have. |
Read JavaScript for Advanced Web Developers by Nicholas Zakas, it will teach JavaScript not ES6. You can cover es6 after this, I want to re-cover it again because I think I might be getting stale. |
