franugo: 1015 is quite steep. Better to buy usd from aboki at 750 and credit a dollar account, then use the dollar card. I have a dollar card, but it didn't work, only ChipperCard seems to be working. It even hurts me to do this route, but I want to do the application fee fast, I'm hoping there's an alternative for school fees. |

is anyone going to the University of Winnipeg? What card did you use for payment? I don't want to buy dollars at 1015 naira at ChipperCard. |

Devdevdev: No interviewer will pass your slow solution, olodo. It is slow, inefficient and plain lazy for someone claiming to be an experienced programmer.
Imagine implementing your solution on a large data set. It will take your app hours to load. Mine will take milli seconds. If you can't see the difference then you are irredeemably daft. Please no need for insults we are all learning, else the purpose of this thread will be defeated. |
Programming › Re: Algorithm And Data Structure Study Section by qtguru(op): 9:46pm On Jan 11, 2023 |
GREATIGBOMAN: Ok.
But based on the question asked does that render my solution wrong or inefficient? It depends, most algorithm target efficient and correctness. Brute force at least you know you are right, but as devdevdev mentioned, input gets large overnight, so an efficient algorithm is usually favored. I don't want you guys to fight, I think the debate between you two is healthy for suggesting faster solutions. Shalom. |

GREATIGBOMAN: She's just trying to get back at me for pointing out her pile of trash on one of her threads. I don't think it's that, your time complexity is kinda Quadratic, you have 2 loops for an n length of array, O(n^ 2), which will really take a lot of time if the input gets large. |

Programming › Re: Algorithm And Data Structure Study Section by qtguru(op): 9:22pm On Jan 11, 2023 |
Devdevdev: The difference in speed will be much if the length of the array increases exponentially. Oh I see, let's benchmark it with a high length of array and see what the time difference will be. Can you share a link ? NOTE: @GREATIGBOMAN, I see devdevdev's point, the constant is n (Length of Array), if there are 5 million items, you will loop 5 million times, that's a brute force, but I don't think it's room for argument, it's an opportunity to provide alternative algo that is efficient. Let's not argue and look at efficient runtime. I will join you guys soon, this week or next. |

Devdevdev: I tried to copy the link to my solution but I didn't find it. It is my first time using the site. So I took a screenshot of my solution. As you can see, mine compiled in 1.006 seconds, while yours compiled in 1.77 secs. This was just an array of length 4. If it was an array of 1 million numbers, it would literally take hours for yours to compile because you are iterating over the numbers linearly and comparing them one by one, whereas my solution will take seconds.
If you doubt me, try increasing the array length and compare both our solutions. "Premature optimization is the root of evil", the difference in speed is not that much to worry about, |

Thank you Some of them require skills There is creating e-learning content for LMS platforms, it's a niche and fetches money on freelance platforms, another skill is knowing no-code tools. There is a remote platform catered to just no-code tools such as Bubble, Webflow and others I always just tell people google Upwork freelancers, there's some skill like setting up Zoom for people making some Nigerians money |

Evolutionlove: Nice, This is how it should be. If a man is fortunate to meet Women/Ladies who assist them. They should return the same favour too.
It's extremely hard to see Women/Ladies extending an assistance to Men. Once Women/Ladies are made, They tend to always look up and front and despise people below them.
The only way to make them appreciate you most of the time and behave is "You should make them invest in you, be it friendship/relationship. It's alway very hard for them to misbehave and leave when they know they are the one doing most of the investing.
Anything apart from this OYO. I avoid selfish and stingy women, especially women with no ambition, truth is reasonable women are not scarce. Just that NL peeps keep chasing all these broke ladies like Jenny clay. The likes of Jenny Clay can't do much for you, it's the likes of pocohantas and folake4u you'd want to have as good friends. Last time I checked, Nigerians don't like paying for software or any form of online service no matter how small the fee is Unless it's a good service, you'd be shock how much Nigerians spend on CODM |

Programming › Re: Getting A Raise And Promotion Faster: A Short Developer's Guide by qtguru(m): 6:40pm On Jan 09, 2023 |
ReactJs: So there's something i've been meaning to share with you guys pertaining to getting a raise and or promotion at work.
Most times in a workplace you see raises and promotions get handed to people that other employees might feel they're underserving of it. Sadly it almost doesn't matter how much of a hardworker you are or if you always work longer hours than everybody if you're not strategically positioning yourself.
A lot of times, it boil downs to if you have someone(mostly your manager) speaking on your behalf to the people that makes the decision concerning who gets either a raise or promotion and who doesn't. If your manager doesn't feel compelled enough to fight for you in your absence where it matters, you have a problem.
You need to focus only on impressing, in this context, your manager. Your manager HAS TO LIKE YOU. I cannot emphasize enough the advantages of this. conversely, i also cannot imagine the disadvantages that comes with your manager not liking you.
You just need to how find to become a likeable person and get the important people in your organization on your side. How do you impress the manager? let me guess by working hard ? |
