Good morning all, please what advice would give a newbie. I registered last last year but no gigs yet. I'm into technical writing but I also have a bit of web dev experience to JS level coupled with WordPress though my profile is structured around content development for now.

I really need to start getting gigs because Nairaland outsourcers have really dealt with me, I recently discovered that one was paying me #3/word for a crypto project while he was getting around #20/ word from his upwork client. Please gurus in the house help me out.

I thought that since spring boot does a lot for you, by abstracting a lot of stuff I'll just have to focus on the things that matter but still I am still not understanding anything. 😅

Why would anyone want to validate emails from the backend? Unless for educational purposes, all data are being validated at the frontend to save time

JS can be disabled, Backend is your best point to secure bad input

I am a fullstack web developer with 8 years experience focusing on the technologies; vuejs, javascript, laravel, php, html5/css3... I have built apps for clients and I possess a senior-level expertise in what I do. I have been in web dev mainly as a personal side hustle and I have never been employed by a company specifically for this reason and have no company-employed work experience for this.
Signing up in turing.com, I am learning that turing.com puts a heavy emphasis on employed work experience--and going on with the process means you have to lie your way through all the questionaires. Does this mean that turing.com only considers developers with employment experience and am not eligible?
