Biafra agitators may soon hiss a sigh of relief knowing their case is about to be handled by International Criminal Court -ICC.

There have been quite a couple of media reports of loss of lives in the camp of the pro-Biafrans during peaceful protests.

AP reported that about 20 Biafran supporters have been reported killed while protesting the arrest and detention of their leader Nnamdi Kanu and demanding independence for the people of Biafra.

The pro-Biafran group had filed a complaint against President Muhammadu Buhari at The Hague accusing him of committing war crimes against the people of Biafra.

Fraud in 2016 Budget

Before the April 2015 general election, I guess no Nigerian ever envisaged there will be an alarming fraud in 2016 budget like this.

Nigerians were prepared to see a change having sat under a PDP government for over 15 years seen as been highly corrupt, wasteful, lack of good economic strategies and upheld impunity with seriousness.
Most people were actually persuaded to vote Buhari not because he was a saint or messiah, but because the PDP government was believed to have performed woefully in the 16 years of their governance hence expected better succor soon.
Note: I am not a PDP, APC or any political party member and didn’t even vote for GEJ in the last general election.
I am just a Nigerian who is worried over the hardship, pain, poverty of our people occasioned by governments’ economic destruction, impunity, corruption and mismanagement of our common resources.
During the last general election, Nigerians felt voting Buhari was going to bring them back to the days where things were working.
Yes, one can argue that it is less than a year since Buhari came into power hence he needs more time to put things in the right perspective.
Hey! Even though, nobody expects magic from Buhari in a short time, this government is 9 months old this January; we are yet to start seeing even signs aside from the corruption fight raving across the country.
The anti-corruption fight is commendable though, but if you are forward thinking you will not want to shut down the whole country just because you are pursuing corrupt people.
As a Nigerian and a man who believes in doing the right thing at the right time, I think Buhari is been misguided in so many areas.
Nigerians would have hissed a sigh of relieve despite how bad the situation of the country is at the moment had it been the 2016 budget came out with clear, masses-driven figures and facts.
Unfortunately, the 2016 budget is a far cry from this.
For a government that rode on the weaknesses of the previous governments to come into power to present such a fraudulent document in the name of budget, it is painful and hopeless for Nigerians as far as objective thinking is concerned.
2016 Budget in View
A total of about 6 trillion Naira has been planned to be spent in 2016.
Nigerians expected to have a people-friendly , masses-based and fraud-proof 2016 budget given that they have suffered for so long.
But with what we have seen , I can only say it is unfortunate.
Areas I have issues with in the Budget:
Perhaps we may need to compare GEJ’s previous figures with Buhari’s figures to help us understand the magnitude of the fraud.
GEJ
Feeding per year
N1 billion in 2011 (with much criticism he reduced down in 2013 see below)
N717.3 million in 2013
N542 million in 2014
N530 million in 2015

N1.75 billion is Buhari feeding, has be turned into elephant or he terms elephants now? Now that Nigeria is passing through harder times economically, wouldn’t this have been the best time to undertake some austerity measures which is to be reflected even in our national budget?

In 2015, the oil price per barrel then was 167 dollars. Now it is about 30 dollars. When do you think we need to be more careful with our budget?
Secondly,
N2.3 billion to be spent by president Buhari and all his former presidents per year. What are they doing with such money?
N19.9 billion budget for President Buhari and his coteries in the Presidency in one year alone
N400 million on a weekend symposium. That is 35th Annual General Meeting and Symposium of Shelter Afrique slated for June 2016!
N39.1billion for Lai Mohammed’s office in one year alone meanwhile other important ministries having laughable budgets e.g Ministry of Transportation N13.7 billion, Trade and Investment N10.5 billion. Can you beat that?
The fraud in 2016 budget is highly regrettable.
N45 billion for INEC in a year when there is no national election is scary with a ministry as important such as Ministry of Water Resources having only N7.2 billion.
N2.09 billion Federal Character Commission for what? What project is the commission embarking on?
I can go on and on, but the simple fact remains that, the Buhari administration has proved that they are worse than any previous democratic government first in conceptualizing the national budget in attempt to tailor it according to our needs.
And until they are able to resolve that, it will amount to “a pot calling the kettle black” prosecuting people for corruption yet your own budget is full of fraud evidence everywhere.
Therefore, Buhari should either release Dasuki, Olisa Metuh and others standing trials on various corruption allegations, address all the fraud in 2016 budget immediately before continuing with their prosecutions or He should suspend the budget and give us a more realistic budget.

Sorry its not a comparison, i am saying the country is already at war with many people and many things e.g we are at war with boko haram insurgency, we are at war with Dollar exchange rate, we are at war with the dwindling oil revenue, we are at war with Shiite group coming up, we are at war with some people being investigated for corruption, we are at war with handling budget and knowing whether or not we need to borrow, we are at war with some of his incompetent cabinet members, we cannot keep increasing our enemies of war by adding people like niger delta militants. Buhari is brave we know, but only a wise warrior knows when to advance in war to prove his war prowess or withdraw tactically to plan a strategy. You cannot just enter the war front and confront all enemies all the time thinking you are brave without knowing when to hide and when to advance an attack. The most unfortunate thing that can happen to this country at this point is for the nation to be at war with Niger Delta boy. The government may win at the end of the day, but the country as a whole will suffer but the economy in the process will die more.

I still wonder why people come on here and still encourage this administration. Party matters aside, can anyone tell me anything this administration has done since its inception? We have the most docile finance minister since democratic Nigeria, the Naira is nose-diving and up till now, there's no economic blueprint to help the naira against the hard currencies. There's uncertainty about Nigeria's Economy in which has made investors leave the country and also discouraging prospective investors. 2 years ago, Nigeria was a destination for investors and now, it's the opposite. We should not be so blinded by the whole #Dasukigate #Armsgate saga, let us open our eyes to face the reality of what's happening before this country is left in tatters.

I ones said that from inception, i have realised that this federal government take action before thinking about it ad make final decision. That is the implication of what has happened even with the budget.

A warrant of arrest has been issued by the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos to get Mr Government Ekpemupolo, a.k.a Tompolo arrested.

This is with regards to the request by the EFCC counsel, Keyamo Festus to arrest him , after alleging that Mr Tompolo has consistently failed to honour invitations from the Commission to appear before it and clear his head over different allegations leveled against him.
