Jacknn:Check ieltsonlinetests.com. With regards to you not being satisfied with your listening, I'll advice that you identify what area you are having difficulty in and work on it, develop a strategy which will help you understand it because getting more materials without working on your weak points won't help. For instance I had issues with the multiple choice part till I understood that in the multiple choice questions, the answer is always a synonym or paraphrase of what you hear in the audio. So I had to work on my paraphrasing skill. I even developed a strategy where as the audio is being played and I hear the supposed answer, I write it down quickly then after that section I compare what I wrote down with the options a-c or e. Whichever is the synonym or paraphrase becomes my answer. This strategy requires speed and a lot of practice but it helped me and I had a 9 in listening. |
czaratwork:What this scarcity of international passport almost cost me early this year ehn,. I travelled to another state from Lagos with my 1 year old daughter in January and decided to apply for a passport for her there. So I went online, filled the form and made the payment, Did her NIN then went to the passport office. I got there and I was told that there was no 32 pages booklet available infact only 2 states in Nigeria had it. Wahala! And I already paid for 32 pages for my daughter. I had already booked a flight to Lagos also and they were telling me that they don't know when 32 pages booklet will be available. So on the day of the data capture, we went and I was given a date to pick the passport, which was one month from the date of the capture. My initial plan was to pay for express but as there was no 32 pages booklet, express will not work. I started scratching my head, I met an immigration staff and explained my dilemma- I don't live in that state and I need to return to Lagos, it won't be possible for anyone to pick the passport on my behalf when it's available meaning I will have to travel back to collect it etc. The staff looked at me and said she will help me, that they have 32 pages booklet reserved for medical reasons but I will have to pay extra for it. I said no wahala, so long as they will give me that passport that day. I paid and in less than 2 hours I got the 32 pages booklet passport that was scare nationwide. The extra money I paid was like 15 or 20k but it was way cheaper compared to buying a flight ticket. |
Hello all, I'm still in the pool awaiting ITA but I would like to know from those that have done medicals, how much Qlife Lagos charges per adult and for a child below 5 years old. Pls I've already checked on part 5 of this thread and I saw 28k for an adult and 20k for a child below 5 years but that was a few years ago and I'm almost certain that the fees have changed. Thanks |
ZaraD:Someone posted here that GTB has increased the limit to 200 dollars per month, so if you have a Gtb naira MasterCard you can pay with it |
cnwamo:Congratulations |
Pls who has evaluated their result with WES recently? A friend who started the whole process last month (alumni of unilag) just called to say that her evaluation is ready in less than a month. She only paid 30k to unilag, she didn't pay any money for verification infact there was no stage where she had to call unilag to verify her result. I'm still shocked! My husband told me that it's possible cause on their website it says 35 working days to get your result evaluated. Has anyone experienced this pls? I want to know if my friend misinterpreted whatever message WES sent to her |
Good afternoon, Is there anyone here that has applied for a bsc transcript from Madonna University Okija? How did you go about it? How much is the transcript fee and courier? I'm asking for a friend that lives in Lagos. She'll like to evaluate her result with WES |
Debbieeeeeee:Thanks for the information IRCC |
overlord77:Ignore that person, typical Nigerian mentality just because he has a crs score of above 480 he wants to dash the hope of others with lower crs scores. The last crs cut-off for FSW which was in December 2020 was 468, so what that dude is insinuating is that when FSW resumes the crs cut off will be 480 something, just imagine! |
Buaji:I don't stay in Ibadan but I got one in Lagos from a store in novare mall for almost 2k. This is it. You can check on jumia though but it will be more than 2k. But note that the battery doesn't last so always ensure you have a spare battery.

Waxxxy:Write a letter to them for postponement of your exam date though you have to give a valid reason, a reason better than heavy traffic. I also missed my ielts exam about 4 months ago and on the morning of the exam ( before 6am though) I sent them an email applying for postponement due to security issues in my area. The following Monday I got a response from them asking me to choose a new date and pay 25% of the ielts fee and re- apply. Check their website to find out the right email for issues relating to postponement of exam date or refund of ielts fee. You can still go for the speaking test but just know that if they respond favourably to your postponement letter and you apply for a new date, you will re-take the speaking test. |
Send an email requesting for your candidate number[/quote You will be told your candidate number at the test venue, it NEVER comes via email. |
blackedwin:I think you should work towards getting a job in Canada after graduation to gain Canadian work experience then apply for PR under Canadian Experience Class. Do your research on CEC to know if you will qualify for it after graduation, I dont know much about it |
portablesuzy:For reading and listening practice tests- ieltsonlinetests.com( stick to the general tests) and Cambridge practice tests 1-17 but 12- 17 have the most recent questions format. For tips on listening, reading, writing and speaking- ielts jay on YouTube and ieltsliz.com |

Good morning, WES evaluated my result last year and sent me the soft copy only. I want to know if the hard copy is needed after receiving ITA. Thanks |

To be eligible for express entry you must have at least 1 year work experience but having 3 years or more work experience will increase your CRS. Your work experience doesn't have to be related to what you studied in school except you want to apply for Saskatchewan PNP. Also your work experience could be post first degree or masters degree, it doesn't matter. I'll advice you go through page 1 of this thread very well, do your own research because it's obvious the person helping you apply knows nothing! |
RichEstate:Aim for the following: L 8.5-9.0 R 8.0-9.0 W 7.5-9.0 S 7.5-9.0. Use these scores to calculate your crs now and if your crs doesn't increase significantly, then you have to try other options to increase it |
Jacknn:Let me share a few tips with you 1. Make sure you are practicing with the right ielts listening questions because there are lots of listening test online that are unrealistic by unrealistic I mean the audio is faster than it should be. Practice with Cambridge ielts listening test from 1-16 and ieltsonlinetests.com(pls stick to the listening practice tests on the general tests and Academic tests only ) 2. Check out ieltsliz for more tips on listening 3. If you are having issues with the multiple choice type of questions, the solution is to learn how to paraphrase with speed. In most cases the answer will be a paraphrase of what you heard in the audio recording. 4. Concentrate! 5. Check your spelling |
Good afternoon, When I created my EE profile I selected just 2 provinces, now I want to change it to 'all provinces' how l do I go about it pls? |
GraciousWords:Amen |
GraciousWords:After I got my ielts result yesterday I called my cousin that works with immigration Canada yesterday if he had any idea when FSW program will resume and he told me he has no idea, that they are working on Afghanistan refugees, I guess the Canadian govt is trying to bring them in as refugees. I just pray and hope that this doesn't affect FSW program. |
IamKafee:Thanks |

I got my ielts result today, my 2nd attempt- L9, R9,W7.5, S7. My first attempt was L7.5, R9,W7, S7.5. I lost more than 50 points in my CRS score due to the 7.5 in listening. I'm extremely happy right now |
Hello, We are a family of 3 planning to relocate to the UK via the study route. My husband will pursue a masters degree while I work to support the family. I have a bsc and Msc in Accounting but I don't have relevant work experience cos I'm self-employed ( real estate agent , shoe vendor etc). Please I need 1.suggestions on short courses I can do in Nigeria to boost my chances of getting a job( in the accounting field) in UK 2. I want to know what other jobs I can be eligible for in the UK outside the accounting field Thanks |
Adelove2020:Thanks |
Hello, I updated my POF last week but up till now it hasn't been transmitted, itstill shows 'updated'. Should I be worried?
|
ifewunmy:The question didn't specify if it was Canadian work experience, It's the part where you put details of your spouse's personal information, education and work history. I'm asking cause someone mentioned here that if mention that he has work experience while creating an EE profile, when I receive ITA I will have to provide documentation for it. |
adaoyoyo:I had a similar experience with my daughter, I had to call the guy at the nimc office that did the NIN registration for her and he had to contact Abuja. It took like 3 days for my daughter's NIN to appear on the immigration portal. In my own case I initially paid this guy 7k for my daughter's NIN registration so when the issue of her NIN not appearing on the immigration portal came up, I had to call him to fix it. I'll advice you to to go to wherever you did the NIN or go to nimc office and pay someone to make sure her NIN appears on the immigration portal |
