We have these friends here in the USA that live in a mansion literally.
My hubby and I were shocked when the man called and asked to borrow money from us to refinance and cash out equity on his home and I'm talking of borrowing an amount less that $2,000.
How can you live in a house you can't afford?
Go there in the summer,they can't even afford to turn on the AC to heat the mansion.
I'll rather live in a modest 3/4 bedroom that I can heat and cool comfortably that live in a 7 BR house and wear socks and and winter jackets indoors to watch TV in the winter.

Child bearing is not an illness.
Most women can work till almost the delivery day and after baby is born,most can go back after 2-3 months.
That word housewife ought to be expunged from the mentality of every woman.

On the issue of saving with a man, there will always be a clause there because men are cats. You may toil and suffer to save and he comes up with a 2nd wife idea one bright sunday morning especially when you are resident in Nigeria. Trusting a man as long as his peewee is still alive and active is as good as raising a cub and hoping it wont turn to a raging beast.

That's why a woman must make and have her own money.

But I made my husband buy a cheaper house even though we could afford to live in a gated community with more expensive homes so we could save more.
I learnt it from my dad.
He was frugal to the core and now that he's retired,he's richer than he's ever been by the Grace of God
